This has not been the subject of any research study in the Czech Republic so far. Systematic investigation of the psychological impact of traffic accidents is a key condition in the system of their effective prevention and psychological care for road accident participants. The experience of a serious traffic accident can lead to a disturbance of psychological integrity in many people, and some of those involved in traffic accidents subsequently develop mental disorders that have a major impact on their future lives and, in a broader context, on society. Each person responds to a traumatic event in a different way and several situational and individual factors come into play. The online panel questionnaire survey on the prevalence of post-accident phenomena in the Czech population 18+, which was conducted using the CAWI method, involved 2319 respondents who had been involved in or witnessed a traffic accident investigated by the Czech Police in the last ten years. Symptoms of PTSD were identified in 23-30% of the sample. The linear regression model showed the following factors to be statistically significant: Gender, Education, Partnership satisfaction, Stressors one year around CA, Support of the significant others, Dissociation (Intense fear of healing oneself or others, Confusion and difficulty orienting oneself in time and space, Experiencing the situation as unrealistic), Subjective perception of CA as a burdensome life event, Persistent economic impact of CA, Avoidance of driving. The results of this study contribute to a better understanding of the overall impact of traffic accidents in the context of the Czech Republic. Systematic investigation of the psychological impact of traffic accidents is a key condition in the system of their effective prevention and psychological care of the affected persons.","PeriodicalId":52273,"journal":{"name":"Transactions on Transport Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135884317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Surrounded by mountainous terrain and limited equipment for flight operation, flying unpressurised aircraft with many restrictions is quite challenging and may have a high risk of accidents. The number of incidents involving general aviation has not decreased, despite the numerous safety recommendations that have been generated as a direct result of accident reports. This research aims to identify the factors affecting the effectiveness of safety recommendations related to accidents and serious incidents of general aviation in Indonesia. Ten participants from the investigation agency, safety authority, and airline operators participated in semi-structured interviews. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed using the Grounded Theory approach. The findings revealed that three main considerations used in formulating safety recommendations following an investigation in Indonesia; to improve safety, to ensure comprehension, and to be accepted and implemented by addressees. In addition, in accepting and implementing safety recommendations, recipients consider organizational internal processes, decent communication towards addressees, enforcement and penalties, investigation processes and results, and the characteristics of the safety recommendation itself. It is suggested that installation of a monitoring and follow-up system to analyze the measurability and applicability of proposed actions.","PeriodicalId":52273,"journal":{"name":"Transactions on Transport Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135882985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent pandemic events have challenged the modal choices of European users by reducing the use of public transport at various times and favouring walking and/or the use of electric bikes and scooters for last-mile travel. A number of studies have focused on analysing how the pandemic affected workers' choice of transport mode, with particular reference to local public transport, by developing multinomial logistic regression and artificial neural network models to analyse travellers' choice of transport mode before and after COVID-19. Particularly in non-European contexts, studies have been conducted on the relationship between socio-economic factors and the duration of e-scooter trips before and during the health crisis caused by the pandemic. in these contexts, a general increase in the duration of e-scooter trips after the pandemic was shown. Few studies, however, have analysed the European context. Several factors relating to services and infrastructure as well as socio-demographic components contributed to the propensity to use e-scooters as evidenced by a number of literature works in the European context. However, little research has been conducted using the machine learning approach to understand which factors and how they may influence modal choices. The present research work focused on the analysis of last-mile transport choices by investigating the propensity of a sample of users residing in Sicily during different time phases before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, 35 different classes were determined for a total of 545 data. The classification process was carried out using SMO, KNN and RF machine learning algorithms. The results showed a reduction in the frequency of e-scooter use during the health crisis caused by the pandemic. The results showed that this was a temporary behaviour, even though the purpose of e-scooter use by most individuals changed during the health crisis caused by the pandemic. However, it was observed that the frequency of e-scooter use decreased in most individuals during the health crisis caused by the pandemic and this became a permanent behaviour. The results suggest that the analysis of the importance of variables in relation to different periods and is essential for a better understanding and effective modelling of people's travel behaviour and for improving the attractiveness of these means of transport for companies operating services in the areas examined.","PeriodicalId":52273,"journal":{"name":"Transactions on Transport Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135592158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
