In this paper, the belief rule base (BRB)-based distributed fault-diagnosis problem for MASs is investigated, and a topology-switching strategy is developed to increase the reliability of fault-diagnosis model. Firstly, a BRB-based distributed fault-diagnosis model is constructed for the MAS with multiple faults, then expert knowledge is used to judge whether the agent is faulty. Then, considering that the system may be influenced by the fault or some other factors and thus leading to a decrease in the accuracy of the fault-diagnosis results, a topology-switching strategy based on the average distance of the output diagnosis accuracy is proposed to update the topology of the agent so that the fault-diagnosis results can be more reliable. Note that the topology-switching threshold is designed based on the average distance between the accuracy of the fault diagnosis of each agent. The method proposed in this paper can solve the problem when the fault-diagnosis accuracy of the model is affected by some common factors and thus decreases, and can improve the reliability of the fault-diagnosis model very well. Finally, the effectiveness of the BRB-based distributed fault-diagnosis model and the proposed topology-switching strategy to improve the fault-diagnosis accuracy is verified by simulation examples.</p>","PeriodicalId":520609,"journal":{"name":"Entropy (Basel, Switzerland)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2022-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9689439/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"40466635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the paper is to explain these ideas in the most simple possible context, namely: discrete time and separable Hilbert spaces, in order to make them accessible to those coming from the philosophy of science and not too happy with idiosyncratic notation and terminology and sophisticated mathematical tools. Conventional elementary mathematical descriptions of quantum mechanics take \"measurement\" to be a primitive concept. Paradoxes arise when we choose to consider smaller or larger systems as measurement devices in their own right, by making different and apparently arbitrary choices of location of the \"Heisenberg cut\". Various quantum interpretations have different resolutions of the paradox. In Belavkin's approach, the classical world around us does really exist, and it evolves stochastically and dynamically in time according to probability laws following from successive applications of the Born law. It is a collapse theory. The quantum/classical distinction is determined by the arrow of time. The underlying unitary evolution of the wave-function of the universe enables the designation of a collection of beables which grows as time evolves, and which therefore can be assigned random, classical trajectories. In a slogan: the past is particles, the future is a wave. Design optimization can be used to increase the efficiency of electric vehicles by reducing aerodynamic drag and lift. The main focus of this paper is to analyse and optimise the aerodynamic characteristics of an electric vehicle to improve efficiency of using computational fluid dynamics modelling. Multiple part modifications were used to improve the drag and lift of the electric hatchback, testing various designs and dimensions. The numerical model of the study was validated using previous experimental results obtained from the literature. Simulation results are analysed in detail, including velocity magnitude, drag coefficient, drag force and lift coefficient. The modifications achieved in this research succeeded in reducing drag and were validated through some appropriate sources. The final model has been assembled with all modifications and is represented in this research. The results show that the base model attained an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.464, while the final design achieved a reasonably better overall performance by recording a 10% reduction in the drag coefficient. Moreover, within individual comparison with the final model, the second model with front spitter had an insignificant improvement, limited to 1.17%, compared with 11.18% when the rear diffuser was involved separately. In addition, the lift coefficient was significantly reduced to 73%, providing better stabilities and accounting for the safety measurements, especially at high velocity. The prediction of the airflow improvement was visualised, including the pathline contours consistent with the solutions. These research results provide a considerable transformation in the transportation field and help reduce fuel expenses and global emissions.</p>","PeriodicalId":520609,"journal":{"name":"Entropy (Basel, Switzerland)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9689435/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"40694567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accurate prediction of bearing life can avoid serious failures. To address the current problem of low accuracy and poor predictability of bearing life prediction, a bearing life prediction method based on digital twins is proposed. Firstly, the vibration signals of rolling bearings are collected, and the time-domain and frequency-domain features of the actual data set are extracted to construct the feature matrix. Then unsupervised classification and feature selection are carried out by improving the self-organizing feature mapping method. Using sensitive features to construct a twin dataset framework and using the integrated learning CatBoost method to supplement the missing data sets, a complete digital twin dataset is formed. Secondly, important information is extracted through macro and micro attention mechanisms to achieve weight amplification. The life prediction of rolling bearing is realized by using fusion features. This approach sidesteps some prominent objections to standard proofs of Landauer's bound-broadly interpreted here as a nonzero lower bound on the amount of energy that is irreversibly transferred from a physical system to its environment for each bit of information that is lost from the system-while establishing a far more general result. Specializations of our generalized Landauer bound for ideal and non-ideal information processing operations, including but not limited to the simplified forms for erasure and logical operations most familiar from the literature, are presented and discussed. These bounds, taken together, enable reconsideration of the links between logical reversibility, physical reversibility, and conditioning of operations in contexts that include but are far more general than the thermodynamic model systems that are most widely invoked in discussions of Landauer's Principle. Because of the strategy used to prove the generalized bounds and these specializations, this work may help to illuminate and resolve some longstanding controversies related to dissipation in computation.</p>","PeriodicalId":520609,"journal":{"name":"Entropy (Basel, Switzerland)","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9689189/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"40677989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To fulfil these needs, cellular network design must be drastically improved. The 5G cellular network design, huge multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology, and device-to-device communication are all highlighted in this comprehensive study. Hence, free-space optics (FSO) is a promising solution to address this field. However, FSO standalone is insufficient during turbulent weather conditions. FSO systems possess some limitations, such as being able to be disturbed by any interference between sender and receiver such as a flying bird and a tree, as it requires line-of-sight (LOS) connectivity. Moreover, it is sensitive to weather conditions; the FSO performance significantly decreases in bad weather conditions such as fog and snow; those factors deteriorate the performance of FSO. In industrial practice, the running state of bearings is monitored by collecting data from multiple sensors, for instance, the drive end, the fan end, and the base. Given the complexity of the operating conditions and the limited number of bearing-fault samples, obtaining complementary fault features using the traditional fault-diagnosis method, which uses statistical characteristic in time or frequency, is difficult and relies heavily on prior knowledge. In addition, intelligent bearing-fault diagnosis based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) has several deficiencies, such as single-scale fixed convolutional kernels, excessive dependence on experts' experience, and a limited capacity for learning a small training dataset. Considering these drawbacks, a novel intelligent bearing-fault-diagnosis method based on signal-to-RGB image mapping (STRIM) and multichannel multiscale CNN (MCMS-CNN) is proposed. First, the signals from three different sensors are converted into RGB images by the STRIM method to achieve feature fusion. To extract RGB image features effectively, the proposed MCMS-CNN is established, which can automatically learn complementary and abundant features at different scales. By increasing the width and decreasing the depth of the network, the overfitting caused by the complex network for a small dataset is eliminated, and the fault classification capability is guaranteed simultaneously. The performance of the method is verified through the Case Western Reserve University's (CWRU) bearing dataset.
