According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of non-elderly uninsured people declined from roughly 48 million in 2010 to 25.6 million in 2022. Concerned journalists, former U.S. and Israeli government officials, and major American Jewish organizations issued ominous warnings about democratic backsliding.
