Studies show that disengagement is a highly dynamic process, shaped by the interaction of a multiplicity of factors at the micro-, meso- and macro-levels. The article reviews the principal factors related to disengagement, revealing their varied impact, the significance of agential factors and the context-specific nature of disengagement. Given the different forms and degrees of disengagement, scholars have begun to challenge strictly defined dichotomies such as engagement/disengagement. Trivellas","doi":"10.12681/grsr.36715","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12681/grsr.36715","url":null,"abstract":"In today's working and living conditions, work-life balance (WLB) issues have come more forcefully to the foreground. This paper offers a state-of-the-art review of scholarly research on WLB in Greece from 2011 to 2021. Greece is an interesting case as it had to manage the side effects of a tremendous economic crisis and the disruptions caused by the pandemic and the war in Ukraine. The interdisciplinary character and the WLB determinants identified in empirical research are highlighted and discussed.
