We take the time-fractional derivative in the form of Atangana-Baleanu (AB). The article's suggested examples examine the accuracy and efficacy of the proposed methods, while the graphs demonstrate their potential and effectiveness. The article also provides demonstrations of uniqueness and convergence. The aforementioned techniques are straightforward and support a high rate of convergence, which helps in understanding the dynamics of fractional nonlinear systems.","PeriodicalId":517298,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences","volume":"6 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141233651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Singh, Shivam Saw","doi":"10.33889/ijmems.2024.9.3.022","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33889/ijmems.2024.9.3.022","url":null,"abstract":"Noise pollution is a significant concern in urban settings, caused by traffic increases, urban expansion, and industrial activity. The transportation sector is a crucial contributor to overall noise pollution, particularly in India, where different vehicles ply the roads, resulting in highly fluctuating noise levels. Consequently, traffic noise modeling is essential for addressing this severe issue. The present study employs the MLR (Multiple Linear Regression) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) approach to model and predict traffic-induced noise levels. The ANN approach outperforms the MLR technique. The architecture of the ANN model integrates different vehicle categories and average speeds as input, resulting in precise predictions. Evaluation of the model’s performance reveals an average Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) of 0.204 and a high Coefficient of determination (R2) value of 0.93, emphasizing its accuracy. Similarly, in the case of MLR model the RMSE for the training and testing dataset are 1.55 and 1.69 dBA, respectively with R2 value of 0.84. Subsequently, sensitivity analysis highlights the substantial impact of 2-wheelers, tractors/trailers, and 3-wheelers on noise predictions. This study contributes valuable insights into noise management, urban planning, and sustainable development. It demonstrates the efficiency of the ANN approach in addressing complex noise pollution challenges, offering a path toward quieter and healthier urban environments.","PeriodicalId":517298,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences","volume":"56 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141234766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The viewership of YouTube videos can be influenced by three distinct sources: subscribers, word-of-mouth, and recommendation systems. This paper presents a comprehensive modelling framework that takes into account the view-count obtained through these three sources, assuming that a single view-count can only be attributed to one of these sources at any given time. We investigate the interplay among these sources in shaping YouTube video view-count dynamics, proposing a novel approach to model and analyse their impact on video popularity. Additionally, the VIKOR multi-criteria decision-making method is employed to validate and rank our proposed models. This study's findings deepen our understanding of the intricate mechanisms within the YouTube ecosystem, offering insights for predicting and managing video viewership.","PeriodicalId":517298,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences","volume":"24 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141234831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, fast and reliable event detection in microgrids is challenging because of low observability and inconsistencies in measurements. A novel technique is proposed in the present work for the real-time event detection and to identify the various emerging abnormalities in the microgrid. The continuous energy signature using TKEO (Teager-Kaiser Energy Operator) of the continuous varying voltage and frequency signal are extracted through μPMU. REII (Robust Event Identification Index) is constructed from these energy signatures and based on its abrupt post-event deviation from the nominal values an event is flagged in the proposed method. The proposed method is data–driven and only depends on the real-time inputs through μPMUs thus it automatically adapts the uncertainties associated with the intermittent sources of energy in the microgrid under different operating conditions. The traditional event detection techniques fail in identification of abnormalities for a microgrid connected to the transmission systems and equipped with multiple DERs such as PVDG, WG etc. To address this challenge, an integrated microgrid with multiple DERs viz. PVDG, WG and a SG (Synchronous Generator) is first developed in this work. The complexity of simultaneous operation of a static generator i.e. PVDG along with a rotor-based generator such as WG and SG is handled by the modeling the dynamic controllers of PVDG and WG for their frequency and voltage control. The simulation results depict the efficiency, accuracy and robustness of the proposed technique in terms of estimation time, event accuracy and applicability in all types of events. Moreover, the presented methodology is also compared with the four AI/ML based methods to highlight the superiority of the method.","PeriodicalId":517298,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences","volume":"11 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141233461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research addresses the need for optimizing inventory in a system with a shifting production rate and other challenging product characteristics such as product deterioration with limited life span, and product demand that is dependent on the stock level, the state of freshness of the product, and the selling price. The product also needs to be discounted as it gets close to the expiry date in order to boost demand and prevent wastage beyond its life span. Our objective is to maximize profit by determining the optimal selling price and inventory cycle time by deriving the relevant equations for these decision variables. The Newton-Raphson method was used to numerically solve for the optimal values of these variables. Sensitivity analyses were performed to derive useful insights for managerial decision-making.","PeriodicalId":517298,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences","volume":"17 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141235147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research examined various risk indicators in non-life insurance which was under-writing for organizations with clients that purchase several non-life insurance policies. The risk indicators are probabilities of frequency claims and correlations of two risk lines. The closed forms of probability mass functions evaluated the probabilities of frequency claims. Three generalized linear models of four-variate Sarmanov distributions were proposed for marginals, incorporating various characteristics of policyholders using explanatory variables. All three models were discrete models that were a combination of Poisson and Gamma distributions. Some properties of four-variate Sarmanov distributions were explicitly shown in closed forms. The dataset spanned a decade and included the exposure of each individual to risk over an extended period. The correlations between the two risk types were evaluated in several statistical ways. The parameters of the three Sarmanov model distributions were estimated using the maximum likelihood method, while the results of the three models were compared with a simpler four-variate negative binomial generalized linear model. The research findings showed that Model 3 was the most accurate of all three models since the AIC and BIC were the lowest. In terms of the correlation, it was found that the risk of claiming auto insurances was related to claiming home insurances. Model 1 could be used for the risk assessment of an insurance company that had customers who held multiple types of insurances in order to predict the risks that may occur in the future. When the insurance company can forecast the risks that may occur in the future, the company will be able to calculate appropriate insurance premiums.","PeriodicalId":517298,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences","volume":"3 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140353031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary aim is to introduce and assess the Combination Approach. This approach seamlessly integrates the Displacement Adjustment and Spring Forward methods for die compensation. This multi-stage process meticulously corrects dimensional errors and effectively reduces spring back through iterative processes. Using the NUMISHEET model, numerical simulations have shown a significant reduction in spring back errors, with up to a 55% reduction achieved with optimized die surfaces after five iterations. The proposed Combination Approach improves the accuracy of die design and contributes significantly to the stamping industry by incorporating established techniques within finite element software.
