One of the purposes of this new institution is to reduce the cost difference between hydrogen produced in accordance with the guidelines of the delegated acts of the REDII (renewable hydrogen) and hydrogen produced from fossil fuels, and to increase the predictability of producer incomes. The institution is also designed to play a coordinating role, for instance, by collecting information on demand and supply, providing transparent information on prices and developing hydrogen market price benchmarks.\u0000 The bank is expected to become operational by the end of 2023. Particular emphasis is put on the financing of projects that contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal, such as decarbonisation of industrial sectors that are difficult to electrify. The EHB is a key tool for driving the development and deployment of hydrogen technologies from renewable sources across the European Union. By providing financial support for hydrogen projects and supporting cooperation between EU Member States, the EHB can streamline the transition to a green hydrogen economy and contribute to Europe’s climate and energy objectives.

It is necessary to mention the requirement that EU countries achieve climate neutrality by 2050, with the intermediate target being the reduction of harmful exhaust gases to 55 per cent compared to 1990. The achievement of climate neutrality particularly affects transport, which is one of the most crucial sectors of the economy in this regard. Therefore, the author will point out the process of decarbonisation of road transport in the context of both public and private transport, highlighting the most important barriers to the development of this process, using Poland as an example.

The subject of interest in the article is the first level (micro). The aim is to evaluate the impact of various personal factors on the declared abuse of sickness leave in Poland.\u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 The data was gathered using the CAWI survey. The research sample consisted of 1067 respondents (full-time employees). Statistical analysis incorporated multivariable linear regression and structural equation modelling.\u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Some personal characteristics have a significant impact on the declared abuse of sick leave. These factors are: gender, age, number of children, place of living, marital status, and subjective health. We found no impact of education and financial status.\u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 Although abusing sick leave is a serious economic and organisational problem, its causes still remain relatively poorly recognised. Personal characteristics determine the propensity to abuse sick leave, and they need to be taken into account under the process of managing absence behaviours.\u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 The added value of the study is drawing attention to the new personal factors which were not previously identified as a determinant of abuse of sick leave. These are: the number of children, place of living, and marital status.\u0000
