These works, written primarily in Arabic, Persian and Turkish, but also in Greek, French, Albanian, Armenian, Bulgarian, German, and Bosnian, have attracted the attention of literary researchers in recent years. This is because they not only teach vocabulary but also shed light on the period in which they were written and reflect the culture of the relevant language. Despite being the product of practice in past centuries, these works have features that can meet today’s language teachings needs. With the increasing immigration to Türkiye and exchange programs at universities, curricula are continuously being developed, relevant centers are opening, and employment opportunities are being provided for teachers to teach Turkish to both children and adults. In this context, the question of whether the verse dictionaries used for language teaching in the Ottoman Empire can be adapted to the present day as supplementary textbooks comes to mind. The prepared study, information about the emergence, function and content of the genre in question will be given, then the benefits it will provide in teaching Turkish to adult foreigners will be emphasized and suggestions will be made regarding its applicability.","PeriodicalId":514511,"journal":{"name":"Education Mind","volume":"4 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141229317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This cross-sectional survey research method was conducted on the needs of digital elementary teachers in West Nusa Tenggara. Respondents were 213 primary school teachers from 10 districts in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The data collection process is conducted online and is anonymous to maintain the privacy of respondents using the Google Form platform. The data analysis used was the Mann-Whitney U test, as we wanted to compare the competencies of male and female teachers. Moreover, the researchers also conducted FGDs with Heads of Education Bureau in 10 districts of NTB to verify the results in this area. The results of this study show that the digital competence primary school teachers either man or woman teachers are still low. In addition, the teacher's skills in using computers, the Internet, and software in the classroom are minimal. The opportunities for teachers to use the Internet are quite high, but teachers do not use it for classroom learning. Teachers believe that technology can help them withhold concepts or knowledge from students. However, teachers also fear the negative effects if children interact with Technology too often.","PeriodicalId":514511,"journal":{"name":"Education Mind","volume":"72 16","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141231162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Drug addiction has reached increasingly dangerous proportions in many parts of the world. Adolescents have a strong propensity for experimentation, are highly inquisitive, are disposed to peer pressure, rebellious against authority, and have low self-confidence, which makes them prone to Drug addiction. The literature highlights a positive correlation between substance use and disruptive family interactions, impacting a child's development. This study aims to explore substance abuse in the context of parent-child conflict, emphasizing the importance of effective parenting. The investigators utilized secondary data by conducting a comprehensive review of relevant literature. This review involved searches across various databases like Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Eric, employing a filter to specifically identify studies published in English related to substance abuse/drug addiction, parent-child conflict, and positive parenting. The results of the study found parent-child conflict as one among the strong predictors of adolescents' likelihood to develop addiction problem. High level of parent-child conflict can have a negative impact on a child's development and mental health, as well as increase the risk of drug dependence. The implications of the study are discussed.","PeriodicalId":514511,"journal":{"name":"Education Mind","volume":"5 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141233653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of these variables is their awareness of learning disabilities and the other is TPACK skills. In this study in which these two skills were examined, relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. 236 pre-service teachers participated in the study and TPACK skills of pre-service teachers were found to be at a good level and can be developed, while teaching skills for learning difficulties were found to be at a low level and in absolute need of improvement. It was seen that there was a significant positive relationship between TPACK skills of pre-service teachers and their teaching skills for learning disabilities.","PeriodicalId":514511,"journal":{"name":"Education Mind","volume":"46 30","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141232633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The learning process involves selfdevelopment, cognitive training, emotional training, psychomotor training, and social interaction training, fostering independence in children during their playtime. Early childhood education differs from other levels as it emphasizes play while still incorporating learning. However, the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2019 has significantly impacted early childhood education, leading to the implementation of online classes. This change has affected not only students, who are in an age group susceptible to the disease, but also young children who may struggle to grasp the meaning of the Covid19 virus, unlike adults. Research objectives: a. To analyze early childhood responses to online learning. b. To investigate the impact of online teaching and learning activities on early childhood education in Indonesia. Utilizing qualitative research methods, this study is described through descriptive analysis based on a literature review and an examination of social phenomena. Children experience psychological shock when transitioning to home-based learning, missing the presence of teachers and friends, resulting in boredom and a lack of motivation to complete assignments. This psychological impact extends to parents, particularly mothers, who now have the responsibility of teaching their children at home, a role previously handled by teachers at school. Online classes are considered the optimal solution to curb the spread of Covid-19 in early childhood environments. The conflict between online and offline classes in the realm of early childhood education forms the basis of this research article.","PeriodicalId":514511,"journal":{"name":"Education Mind","volume":"37 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141232997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Leveraging 'Attitude Toward Online Teaching' scale, the survey involved 160 Iranian EFL teachers. The precise adaptation and analysis methods, centered on the Rasch measurement model, substantially bolstered the scale's analytical rigor. Subsequently, through translation and validation procedures, coupled with Rasch models, affirmed the scale's robust reliability and validity. Establishing validity evidence for the translated scale involved data fitting to the Rasch model, substantiating the cross-cultural validity of both the construct and the Persian test version. Participant responses were pivotal in identifying and eliminating items that did not align well, resulting in a more refined 24-item version which indicates unidimensionality of the scale. Additionally, the discernible differentiation among the scale's categories, evident in the sequence of category thresholds in participant responses, underscores their substantial importance. The consistently high reliability observed across measurement validates the scale's ability to accurately capture attitudes within the Iranian EFL context. This polished Persian adaptation of the instrument emerges as a transformative asset, holding implications for pedagogical practices, curriculum development, and teacher training in online EFL education. It marks a significant stride in advancing EFL education in the digital era, introducing a culturally contextualized measurement tool tailored explicitly to the Iranian EFL setting. Lastly, insights empower stakeholders to refine education strategies, advancing the digital educational landscape.","PeriodicalId":514511,"journal":{"name":"Education Mind","volume":"67 24","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141231274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many problems still need to be solved with the concept of addition and subtraction in the form of story problems. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in addition and subtraction material through story problems. This research used the Teacher Action Research (TAR) approach with 14 second-grade students at Ciren Elementary School, Indonesia as participants. This research also used two data collection methods: providing mathematical worksheets and observations carried out by special observers. Data analysis was carried out by looking at the mean student scores, reflecting through FGDs with observers, and filling in observation sheets by the teacher. Furthermore, the results of this research are presented in the form of teacher observation sheet scores and mathematical worksheet work results. The score results on the observation sheet show an increase in scores from learning in cycle 1 to cycle 2. In addition, the average score of students' mathematical worksheets after intervention in the form of dienes block media and mathematical worksheets always increases with pre-cycle details (48), cycle I (80), and cycle II (84). Thus, using dienes block media assisted by mathematical worksheets can have direct implications for improving mathematics learning in addition and subtraction operation material.","PeriodicalId":514511,"journal":{"name":"Education Mind","volume":"12 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141234066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
