Effectively managing both peak and off-peak demands remains a formidable challenge due to the unpredictable nature of consumer behaviors, leading to energy wastage. This simulation measure of time series data serves the purpose of determining what possibly contributes to policy and regulatory reforms and its notion as an economic growth pathway in Australia. The objective of this study is to build a relationship between social factors and financial aspects and discuss the issue of energy loss that emerges from the lack of leverage between end-users, providers and suppliers of electricity. Recognising the financial burdens associated with energy loss as electricity demand continues to rise, the investigation aims to elucidate the complexities underlying the difficulties in controlling these losses. The distinctiveness of the electricity industry, characterised by its prototypical nature, introduces dynamics that contribute to energy losses, thereby impacting electricity prices. Employing quantitative analysis, this research employs the Earned Value Method (EVM) tool to scrutinise the influential role of consumer behavior in precipitating financial losses. The study provides a comprehensive examination of the interplay between electricity demand and the adverse effects of energy loss during peak and off-peak consumption periods. Utilising time series data through simulation measures, the research identifies key metrics influencing the formation of electricity costs and prices. The findings not only contribute to a deeper understanding of the energy loss parameter but also offer insights into potential policy and regulatory reforms. With a focus on Australia, the research aims to establish a relationship between social factors and financial considerations, emphasising the issue of energy loss arising from the lack of alignment between end-users, providers, and suppliers of electricity. The study concludes by proposing pathways for economic growth through strategic interventions and collaborative efforts within the electricity ecosystem.","PeriodicalId":513413,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Energy and Power Technology","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139861919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, engineers and researchers have continuously developed effective strategies to mitigate the issue and enhance the stability of the PSN. This article proposes a new approach using the African Vultures Optimization Algorithm (AVOA) to design robust Power System Stabilizers (PSS) and enhance the LFO damping in multi-machine networks. The damping ratio-based objective function minimizes the oscillations and increases the system damping. Conventional power system stabilizer (CPSS) is adopted as its parameters are tuned with the help of the African Vulture optimization algorithm to achieve a proper damping ratio over a wide range. Using a pair of multi-machine networks likely to experience three-phase faults, we examine the execution of the process. The results obtained by the simulations are compared with the three reputable optimization algorithms called particle swarm optimization (PSO), backtracking search algorithm (BSA), and dragonfly algorithm (DA), and AVOA-tuned PSS outperforms in terms of minimum damping ratio for tested PSN (Network-1 and Network-2). The AVOA provides a percentage improvement of 76%, 50%, 22%, and 25% compared to CPSS, PSO, BSA, and DA, respectively, for Network-1 and 85%, 83%, and 10% for PSO, BSA, and DA, respectively for Network-2. Therefore, the proposed AVOA optimization technique surpasses other methods to enhance the tested networks' minimum damping ratio.","PeriodicalId":513413,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Energy and Power Technology","volume":"120 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140483160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Karshi primary healthcare centre (PHC) facility is confronted with an unreliable power supply that leads to a high cost of generating power from diesel to operate its equipment. This facility needs a sustainable and reliable electricity supply and therefore a change in their energy system to enable it improve its quality of healthcare delivery services. A solar energy-based electricity generation system that would make the PHC to become resilient and contribute to climate mitigation was selected. A step by step on the design of solar powered system for the health facility was demonstrated, and therefore a grant to develop, install and train health workers on how to use the solar powered system effectively is needed. This program will measure the increased availability of energy, and there is a need for a follow-up program to measure the improvement in healthcare delivery. It was suggested that a data logging system and energy metering equipment should be installed to monitor the function and performance of the solar photovoltaic (PV) system. Monitoring and evaluation is specifically for project installation and management, and recommend that monitoring and evaluation team be set up by the Ministry of Health to collect data that will be used to measure these improvements. This project is aimed at providing 24 hours green and reliable electricity supply to the facility, and reduce CO2 emissions compared to diesel generator. The project will cost 27,169.00 euros, and the organization of this paper follows EREF grant proposal guidelines.","PeriodicalId":513413,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Energy and Power Technology","volume":"37 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139602388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We greatly appreciate the contribution of expert reviewers, which is crucial to the journal's editorial process. We aim to recognize reviewer contributions through several mechanisms, of which the annual publication of reviewer names is one. Reviewers can download a certificate of recognition directly from our submission system. Additionally, reviewers can sign up to the Web of Science Reviewer Recognition Service (formerly Publons) (https://webofscience.com/wos/) to receive recognition. Of course, in these initiatives we are careful not to compromise reviewer confidentiality. Many reviewers see their work as a voluntary and often unseen part of their role as researchers. We are grateful for the time reviewers donate to our journals and the contribution they make.","PeriodicalId":513413,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Energy and Power Technology","volume":"30 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139382742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
