This research aims to employ cognitive language activities to increase and improve the participants' metamemory who have a psychosomatic illness. Engineering students from the Vellore region studying at the tertiary level were selected as the study participants. Participants in late adolescence were chosen for the study because they displayed a high level of psychosomatic condition. The study employs a non-equivalent control group Design (NEGD), which incorporates both qualitative and quantitative analysis, as the study involves non-randomization,and contest the variables. The sampling method employed in the study is purposive sampling hence, non-parametric test was performed in SPSS. Unstructured interview was also employed after each session and their symptoms were inquired and marked in PSQ. Participants were given and instructed to employ coping startegies and memory strategies to reduce the impact of memory decline, psychosomatic symptoms, stress and anxiety. The intervention took place over eight weeks, and participants were given four sets of worksheets like chunking and embroidery. To assess the participants' progress, eight successive tests were administered. Ninety-three people were chosen to participate in the current study. The pre-test and post-test scores' significant value was 0.000. The results indicate a substantial difference between the metamemory pre-test and post-test scores. Cognitive activities have significantly triggered the pre-frontal cortex region of the brain (responsible for memory and have negative effect due to psychosomatic condition) and improved the metamemory and memory strategies.","PeriodicalId":513383,"journal":{"name":"Nusantara Journal of Behavioral and Social Sciences","volume":"13 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140459867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through qualitative analysis, this research delves into how individuals interpret and experience suffering in the workplace, considering the psychodynamic variables that influence their perceptions and reactions. This provides valuable insights into the internal dynamics of work-related suffering, as well as how these factors impact the psychological well-being of employees. Furthermore, the study explores how these findings can be applied in work intervention practices. By understanding the nuances of the subjective experience of suffering, practitioners can develop more effective and empathetic strategies to support employees facing psychological challenges in the workplace. This opens possibilities for interventions that are more tailored and responsive to the unique needs of individuals","PeriodicalId":513383,"journal":{"name":"Nusantara Journal of Behavioral and Social Sciences","volume":"51 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140460006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research results reveal that (1) the principal's competence is related to teacher performance, and the principal's competence has minimal influence on the performance of vocational school teachers. (2) Facilities and infrastructure were found to be related to vocational school teacher performance. Facilities and infrastructure have a significant effect on the performance of vocational school teachers. (3) The competence of the school principal, facilities and infrastructure have a significant influence on the performance of vocational school teachers. These findings underscore the importance of developing school leadership and enhancing facilities to support teacher performance. Employing an experimental design and quantitative data analysis, this study compares stress levels before and after the implementation of an intensive Quran reading intervention. The data collection instrument uses a psychological scale, namely the DASS stress scale (Depression Anxiety own scale) adapted from the character lovibond & lovibond. Results indicate a significant decrease in stress levels among participants engaged in Quran reading activities compared to those who did not participate. These findings underline the importance of spiritual practices in stress management and suggest integrating Quran reading activities into mental health programs in educational environments. The study offers new insights into the application of spiritual methods alongside information technology to support students' psychological well-being, contributing significantly to stress management practices in similar educational settings. The implications of this research emphasize the need to recognize and integrate the spiritual dimension as a crucial component in stress reduction programs, as well as the potential for information technology applications to facilitate spiritual activities.","PeriodicalId":513383,"journal":{"name":"Nusantara Journal of Behavioral and Social Sciences","volume":"93 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140460430","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
