Tracing the historical trajectory through ancient civilizations, the Renaissance era, and significant societal shifts post-World War II, the study highlights the dynamic interplay between culture, external forces, and fashion. It also delves into the commodification of beauty in the contemporary era, examining the persuasive techniques used by beauty brands in advertisements, such as leveraging emotional states to connect deeply with consumers. The global impact of beauty standards and the perpetuation of white-centric ideals are scrutinized, emphasizing influential figures like Marcus Garvey, who challenged these norms. The study sheds light on the beauty industry's promotion of skin-lightening and hair-straightening products, particularly in Asian markets, and offers philosophical reflections on these beauty standards. Engaging with the works of Hume, Kant, Santayana, and Schiller, the paper dissects the subjective and objective dimensions of beauty, including Hume's emphasis on pleasure and pain, Kant's categorization of beauty, Santayana's concept of objectified pleasure, and Schiller's influence on German Idealism. It culminates with an exploration of Jean Baudrillard's \"Death of the Real,\" examining the implications of a society immersed in creating identities detached from objective reality. This paper weaves together the historical evolution of fashion, beauty brand strategies, and philosophical reflections on beauty, offering a nuanced understanding of the complex relationship between aesthetics, identity, and societal perceptions.","PeriodicalId":512096,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Social and Political Issues","volume":"62 36","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141807132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Western governments have encouraged Israel to continue its tyranny. Many other governments around the world preferred to remain silent despite the presence of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). This has led to a re-launch of the debate on the credibility of IHL and the positioning of International Islamic Humanitarian Law (IIHL) on the world stage. The aim of this study is therefore to compare IHL and IIHL, from a theoretical and practical point of view, in the field of the protection of civilians during war and the treatment of prisoners of war. To do this, we opted for a comparative approach between these two components, both conceptually and functionally. This approach focused, on the one hand, on the main sources of the Sharia, the Quran and the Sunnah, as well as on the opinions of Muslim scholars (ulamas), supported by concrete examples of the application of Islamic norms by the Prophet and the Rashidoun caliphs. On the other hand, it also examined all the conventions, treaties and other documents that constitute the sources of the IHL. From a theoretical point of view, the results showed that there are many similarities between the two laws. In practical terms, however, the IIHL stands out for its concrete form and effective application. These observations led us to recommend that the current world order be rethought in view of the juxtaposition of the IIHL and IHL rules.","PeriodicalId":512096,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Social and Political Issues","volume":"76 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141808107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study employs a qualitative research methodology, drawing on academic literature, case studies, and in-depth interviews with national and international organizations. By evaluating the importance of effective communication in the Internet of Things (IoT) era, the paper assesses the opportunities and identifies the challenges of Industry 4.0 in organizational communication. The study delves into the complex relationship between technology and communication, outlining best practices for implementing communication tools and artificial intelligence (AI) in Industry 4.0. Effective communication is crucial for success in Industry 4.0, as it enables individuals to collaborate effectively and share ideas, leading to improved decision-making and problem-solving. However, information overload, miscommunication, and isolation risks must be mitigated to ensure effective communication. Investing in employee training and development, establishing clear communication protocols, and balancing virtual and face-to-face communication can help organizations manage these risks effectively. Mitigating the risks associated with organizational communication in Industry 4.0 is crucial to ensure that organizations can successfully leverage the opportunities presented by this era of digitalization. Recommendations include adopting cybersecurity measures, streamlining communication processes, protecting personal information, ensuring clarity and transparency, regularly updating data security measures, and promoting inclusive communication to overcome social barriers and ensure sustainable organizational communication.","PeriodicalId":512096,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Social and Political Issues","volume":"68 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141806732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In multicultural settings the acceptance of differences in the way people operate has led to rules flouted, bringing chaos and conflict. Core to successful relationships are narrative language abilities, which enable creative as well as critical thinking to broaden and improve information processing and production. Critical, linear thinking analyses a situation, based on facts and data, whilst the creative, lateral approach develops new ideas and solutions. A study shows how language and thinking competencies have declined to hinder interactions between people - vital for new interdisciplinary job-roles now that technology is taking over routines. Focus on developing direct talk, to assist effective collaboration and learning is advocated. Training is required to appreciate language dual function to develop effectively, but also stratify people to potentially add to inequality if not aware. Most learning problems, at all student levels, are rooted in low levels of language, thinking and communication, which receive limited attention in teaching and training. The article looks at the background to thinking and expression and considers a route to more successful multicultural societies.","PeriodicalId":512096,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Social and Political Issues","volume":"13 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141809319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
{"title":"The Mediating Role of Talent Management in Succession Planning and Private Organization Sustainability: A Conceptual Article","authors":"Idemi Samuel, Mohd Yaziz Mohd Isa","doi":"10.15575/jcspi.v2i1.703","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15575/jcspi.v2i1.703","url":null,"abstract":"In the contemporary landscape of business, talent management has emerged as a strategic imperative for organisations aiming to enhance their performance and ensure long-term sustainability. The recognition of talent management's significance lies in its ability to attract, retain, and nurture key talents within an organisation. This process is particularly crucial for private enterprises, where human capital plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, productivity, and competitive advantage. Talent management operates within the broader framework of succession planning, which itself is a critical component of effective human resource planning. Succession planning involves identifying and developing internal talent to fill key leadership positions as they become vacant. This proactive approach not only mitigates the risks associated with leadership transitions but also ensures continuity and stability within the organization. This study delves into the intricate relationship between talent management and succession planning, specifically focusing on their impact on organizational sustainability. By conducting a comprehensive review of existing literature, the study aims to uncover insights into how talent management practices contribute to shaping effective succession planning strategies. Key areas of investigation include planning practices, training and development initiatives, performance appraisal systems, talent retention strategies, and overall talent management policies. Through the proposed conceptual model, the study seeks to elucidate the dynamics that connect succession planning and organizational sustainability within the context of talent management. By integrating these elements, organizations can better align their talent strategies with long-term sustainability goals, thereby enhancing their resilience and competitive positioning in the Nigerian business landscape.","PeriodicalId":512096,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Current Social and Political Issues","volume":"4 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141807361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
