The study aimed to assess the performance of laterite and peat soil, copper and galvanized conductors, and determine the effectiveness of additional materials in reducing grounding resistance. Altering soil characteristics can enhance the conductor's contact area, achieving lower grounding resistance without high costs. Hydrogel, silica gel, and charcoal ash were mixed with soil for testing. Grounding resistance values were measured and collected using the Fall-of-Potential Method using Kyoritsu Earth-Tester-Model-4102. The number of GEMs used were 300g and 600g. Hydrogel, silica gel, and charcoal ash added to soil reduced grounding resistance. Among the various Ground Enhancement Materials (GEMs) tested, hydrogel exhibited the most impressive performance, boasting the lowest grounding resistance at just 56% compared to the reference grounding system. Silica gel followed closely as the second-best performer, with an average grounding resistance of 77% relative to the reference system and lastly is charcoal ash with an average grounding resistance of 77% relative to the reference system. These GEMs significantly enhanced soil conductivity. Furthermore, when considering different soil types and conductor materials, it was observed that peat soil combined with galvanized conductors achieved notably lower grounding resistance in comparison to laterite soil and copper conductors, respectively.","PeriodicalId":512011,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nanoelectronics and Materials (IJNeaM)","volume":"52 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141350333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previously reported susceptor, such as carbonaceous materials and conductive polymers, are toxic and the welding process involving these susceptors is time-consuming. Because of its exceptional microwave absorption and biocompatibility, silicon carbide nanowhiskers (SiCNWs) was employed as the microwave susceptor for microwave welding. Microwave welding in this study comprises of only three simple steps: SiCNWs suspension preparation, SiCNWs application and microwave heating. The weld strength of welded joint was then characterised using tensile test and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy equipped scanning electron microscopy (EDS-SEM) to study its mechanical properties and cross-section microstructure. The influence of microwave irradiation time was studied in this study, and it is found that the weld strength rose with the extension of microwave irradiation time, until a maximum weld strength of 1.61 MPa was achieved by 17 s welded joint. The development of SiCNWs reinforced PP nanocomposite welded joint layer is responsible for the enhanced weld strength. Prolonged heating duration may also result in flaws such as void formation at the welded joint, which subsequently lowered the weld strength to 0.60 MPa when the heating duration was extended to 20 s. In sum, a strengthen welded joint can be formed with rapid microwave heating under the proper control of heating duration.","PeriodicalId":512011,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nanoelectronics and Materials (IJNeaM)","volume":"46 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141353155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lightly crosslinked rubber demonstrated shape memory behaviour without any initial heat treatment. However, the strength of lightly crosslinked natural rubber latex (NRL) film cured by sulphur is relatively low. With the concept of sustainability in mind, the idea of fabricating green smart material for continuous development has motivated researchers to explore the realms of sustainable materials. This research aims to investigate the mechanical behaviour of starch nanocrystals (SNC) reinforced rubber composite films. To this end, the emphasis is laid on evaluating the effectiveness of SNC on shape memory effect (SME) of rubber nanocomposite films. In the current work, up to 8 wt% of SNC synthesized by acid hydrolysis was incorporated into NRL and the mixture was cast to form rubber nanocomposite films. SNC effectively increased the modulus and energy-storing potential of the rubber nanocomposite films. Moreover, the shape memory behaviour of the rubber nanocomposite films improved significantly with SNC content, leading to increased shape fixity (Sf) and full shape recovery (Sr).","PeriodicalId":512011,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nanoelectronics and Materials (IJNeaM)","volume":"6 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141354174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The introduction of nanoimprint lithography in 1995 has demonstrated that it can replicating micro/nano structures with relatively simple and low-cost equipment but with high throughput and high reliability. This paper reviews the development in cell-micro/nanotopographic interactions, the development of high throughput nanofabrication method. The nanofabrication methods in focus is nanoimprint lithography and electrospinning. This review paper also discusses the potential applications from cell-nanotopographic for mass productions. However, their sheet restacking affects the functional properties, resulting in the device’s low efficiency. A strategy is proposed to combine MoS2 with MXene material. X-ray Diffraction data revealed peaks at d-spacings of 6.07, 2.72, 2.49, 2.27, 1.82, and 1.53 Å. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy shows prominent peaks for C 1s and Ti 2p, with no signal for Al detected in the pristine Ti3C2 MXene. This indicates successful etching of the Al layer. Electron Microscopes were used to confirm the samples’ morphology and showed that the hybrid sample has a layered flake-like structure with a small sphere attached to the surface. While the HR-TEM confirmed the layered structure of Ti3C2 after exfoliation from Ti3AlC2, consistent with prior studies. Prior, the electrochemical performances of the MXene/MoS2 supercapacitor in 6M KOH aqueous electrolyte were examined through cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge–discharge. The highest specific capacitance reached was 139.71 Fg-1, attributed to heterostructures of an equally distributed MoS2 and MXene. Furthermore, the device retained about 83% of its initial capacitance after 10,000 cycles of cyclic stability testing. The results demonstrated that the MXene material improved the capacitive performance of MoS2, and conversely. Further enhancements can be expected as a result of a major omission in electrode synthesis, particularly the importance of delamination in MXene preparation.","PeriodicalId":512011,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nanoelectronics and Materials (IJNeaM)","volume":"138 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141350682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The silanization process involved the functionalization step, employing (3-Aminopropyl) triethoxysilane (APTES), while the immobilization process was facilitated by the RNA Probe specific to COVID-19. To verify its specificity in detection, the functionalized biosensor was tested against single-base mismatches, non-complementary sequences, and complementary sequences. The physical characteristics of the Al-IDE biosensor were examined using both low-power microscopy (LPM) and high-power microscopy (HPM). Additionally, the morphological properties of the biosensor were assessed using atomic force microscopy (AFM). To assess its diagnostic potential, the biosensor's sensitivity was evaluated by exposing it to a range of complementary targets, spanning from 1 femtomolar (fM) to 1 micromolar (μM). The current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of the biosensor were meticulously analyzed at each stage of functionalization bare Al-IDE, silanization, immobilization, and hybridization. This I-V characterization was carried out using a picoammeter voltage source (Keithley 2450), Kickstart software, and a probe station. Deploying electromagnetic shielding is a viable solution to minimize the impact of electromagnetic interference (EMI). The conventional methods of electromagnetic shielding use metal gaskets to safeguard sensitive electronic components, which have drawbacks of cost and weight. Hence, electromagnetic shielding polymer can be an alternative to replace metal gaskets. This work investigates the effect of sodium ion (Na) addition to copper selenide/chitosan (CuSe/Ch) film for electromagnetic shielding applications. The shielding polymers were produced using solution casting methods, while the CuSe was synthesized using the chemical coprecipitation method. Impedance spectroscopy and two port waveguide methods were used to characterize the prepared polymer's electrical properties and shielding efficiency. The results indicate that Na incorporation in the CuSe/Ch film resulted in a 47 % decrease in bulk resistivity and increased DC conductivity from 6.07 × 10-6 S/cm to 3.69 × 10˗5 S/cm. The AC conductivity of films containing Na demonstrates a similar level of conductivity at lower frequencies, followed by a sharp increase at higher frequencies, indicating a more substantial influence of Na at higher frequencies. Higher absorption shielding efficiency (SEA) and lower reflection shielding efficiency (SER) were achieved by introducing Na into the CuSe chitosan film. The Na/CuSe/Ch film shows higher total shielding efficiency at an average of 20 dB, equivalent to 99 % of the EM power shield.","PeriodicalId":512011,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nanoelectronics and Materials (IJNeaM)","volume":"95 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141352830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the pursuit of enhancing our understanding of In2O3 thin films, this research exhibits a direct relationship between the laser energy and laser band gap. It was discovered that the energy band gap of thin In2O3 films increased due to the increase in laser energy.
