At the same time, this parameter should be determined before life tests in the field. Various stands and installations are available for this purpose. Each of them is characterized by their own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, based on the specific production conditions, new devices are being developed. In this paper, a rotary-table installation of a specific design is developed for life tests of abrasive wear of various parts. A patent is obtained for it. The differences of this installation from existing analogues are the following: 1 – the pressure of the abrasive material layer on the test sample is regulated by deepening the sample into the abrasive medium; 2 - the test sample is under constant influence of the abrasive material by filling it with the required amount of abrasive materials; 3 – higher efficiency of the installation. This is achieved due to lower power consumption in the absence of friction forces between the sample bracket and the abrasive material. \u0000Comparative life tests were carried out for two harrow teeth, the original tooth and the hardened one. The harrow teeth were tested on a simplified model of a developed installation. An experimental inverter vibration control unit of Kazan Federal University was used for treatment. Hardening was performed with a multi-rod electrode at an arc current of 60A. The frequency of the electrode vibration is 100 Hz. Tests show that the service life of hardened harrow teeth when treated by a vibrating arc with a multi-rod electrode is about 5-6 times higher than the service life of factory harrow teeth.

With a significant number of scientific methods and approaches to solving theoretical and applied issues of reliability theory, one of the key directions is to determine the reliability indicators of technical systems and their elements, in particular a wide range of products including sliding friction pairs with periodic impacts. \u0000The study of failure origins, from the point of view of physical-mechanical processes occurring in surface layers of elements, under the influence of external factors, allows selecting parameters characterizing the functional state of the pair, and, as a result, its reliability. For example, for sliding friction pairs with periodic impacts, such a parameter is the geometric dimensions of the conjugate elements. \u0000The decrease in the geometric dimensions of conjugate elements, due to wear, characterizes the rate of change of the initial parameter values to the maximum permissible ones determining the failure, and can be approximated by linear, power, exponential and other dependencies obtained from actual measurements. According to the obtained functional dependencies of parameter changes over operating time, it makes possible to determine the norm for the parameter regulating their pre-failure state, beyond which failure prediction is possible with varying probability, and, as a result, the reliability of the system as a whole. \u0000The use of this method to reliability forecasting through the determination of the pre-failure state of the system can be projected onto technical objects, which performance indicators are geometric parameters that ensure the performance, first of all, of the functions of the elements themselves and the entire technical system, and worn out during operation.

Promising areas for their improvement are identified. A combined repair system is proposed, which provides a uniform approach of the rolling stock to the position of a single technical audit and scheduled preventive maintenance without taking into account its mileage. The replacement of the element base, when the mileage criteria are met, is carried out on repair and equipment tracks or specially equipped positions during the technical preparation of the rolling stock at the initial point. The proposed system, in comparison with existing ones, reduces the need for depot repairs; the cost of carrying out scheduled repairs of cars, the time spent by cars in an idle fleet, and also provides opportunities for additional operation of the car at the operational stage of the life cycle. Also, the proposed system allows regulating the frequency of the element base replacement of passenger cars with a designated service life of 40 years, including them in the mandatory requirements for the necessary periodic replacement during capital repairs of the car every 5 years.

These types of compounds are often used in the manufacture of semiconductor products (SCPs) and integrated circuits (ICs). Degradation of compounds, revealed during screen tests or during products operating, leads to failures, which dramatically reduces the reliability of electronic equipment (EE). The majority of degradation processes are based on diffusion phenomena, which are mainly determined by temperature, chemical composition and microstructure of metals and alloys. Impurity elements included in the gold coating have a significant effect on the degradation of the wire connections such as crystal contact pads – traverses of package terminals of SCPs. In this regard, it is worth analyzing the effect of various impurities on the diffusion processes and changes in the microstructure of the coating in order to find out the most dangerous chemical elements and determine their role in the degradation of compounds. The paper presents a review of references on the research subject. The physico-mechanical (density, porosity, coefficient of thermal linear expansion, hardness, microhardness) and tribotechnical (wear rate, friction factor, self-heating temperature) properties of the composite material AM4.5Kd-10%TiC obtained by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis before and after heat treatment are analyzed. It is found out that composite samples after heat treatment have a good combination of physical and mechanical properties, namely a low level of porosity, a low value of the coefficient of thermal linear expansion, and the values of hardness and microhardness are increased twice. Special attention should be paid to the fact that reinforcement with a ceramic phase in combination with heat treatment leads to a significant increase in the level of wear resistance of the matrix alloy (by 9 times) and a decrease in the friction factor (by 4 times). Thus, according to the results of the studies conducted, the resulting composite material AM4.5Kd-10%TiC can be recommended as a material used in tribological assemblies.

The most effective way to increase the efficiency of these gears is to optimize the geometrics of engagement parts, which include lifting angles, amplitude and average radius of tire wearing surface. A technique is developed and mathematical dependencies are obtained that allow determining the optimal geometrics of planetary ball and roller gears to increase their efficiency. The power losses at lifting angles of tire wearing surface providing the highest transmission efficiency are calculated for each link of the studied planetary gears constructed according to a single kinematic scheme. The dependences of power losses of planetary ball and roller gears on lifting angles of the leading tire wearing surface are obtained. The highest values of transmission efficiency are determined depending on the optimal lifting angles of the leading tire wearing surface and the gear ratio. The optimal values of average tire wearing surface radius and amplitude are found out, and their best ratios are obtained, ensuring the highest transmission efficiency. The calculation results of geometrics providing the highest efficiency of new planetary ball and roller gear designs are presented.

The paper considers coupling fluids of various viscosities that can be used as a coupling medium for ultrasonic flaw detection. A comparative analysis of the effect of the studied coupling fluids on the sensitivity of the control is carried out, which is determined by the attenuation of the transmitted ultrasonic signal through the roll surface of the car wheelset wheel. The control sensitivity is assessed on the flat and inclined surfaces of the all-rolled wheel. The introduction of ultrasound into the wheel material (steel 2) is carried out by an inclined piezoelectric transducer at an angle α = 900, with an oscillation frequency f = 0.4 MHz. It is found out that by providing a reliable constant force of the ultrasonic transducer P121-90-0.4 due to the permanent magnets built into it, an increase in the viscosity of the coupling fluid can significantly affect the amplitude of the received echo signals. During the research, it is found that low-viscosity coupling fluids are characterized by stable coupling regardless of the time and clamping force of the transducer, in contrast to high-viscosity coupling media, when using them sharp fluctuations in the overall gain of the second through signal in AGC zone are observed on the flaw detector screen. Therefore, in practice, the use of high-viscosity coupling media leads to a sharp increase in signal amplification (amplitude), which may result in over reject.
