Astapenko","doi":"10.1088/2040-8986/ad61fb","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1088/2040-8986/ad61fb","url":null,"abstract":"\u0000 The absorption of short laser pulses in an optically dense medium is theoretically studied based on the total absorption coefficient over the entire duration of the pulse, taking into account the effects of propagation and reflection of pulse from vacuum/medium interface. The approach is the generalization of our previous work [1], which traced a “bridge” between the micro- and macro-description of radiation processes in a medium induced by electromagnetic pulses of arbitrary duration. The expression for the total absorption coefficient is obtained in terms the complex refractive index of the medium. Various limits of this expression are considered. However, traditional proposals cannot tune the wavelength of CD peaks continuously without changing the geometric parameters or external magnetic field, which limits the practical application. This study presents a lithography-free platform exhibits near-unity CD in a WSM-graphene-dielectric structure. It is theoretically shown that the proposal possesses different reflectance properties for right-hand circular polarization (RCP) and left-hand circular polarization (LCP) light in the mid-infrared (mid-IR) range. The merits of the wide-angular chiral capacity of CP waves can also be maintained. Here we propose an ultrafast smoothing scheme using a rotating beam (RB) to mitigate the laser plasma filamentation. Using the propagation model of the rotating beam in plasma for the laser-plasma self-focusing (SF) and filamentation, the filamentation characteristics of laser spots were analyzed.
