Šanderová","doi":"10.46544/ams.v27i2.14","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46544/ams.v27i2.14","url":null,"abstract":"Copper and aluminium prices have long been influenced mainly by non-renewable resources and the industry's widespread use of copper and aluminium for their desired properties. Metal commodities are irreplaceable for the industry of developed countries, and their shortage in the covid times also increases the price and consequently the price of products made from them. As copper ore stocks continue to decline, suitable substitutes should be sought. The paper discusses the potential of copper substitution by aluminium and subsequently the development of prices and production of copper and aluminium, including a prediction about the future development. Research data were obtained from Market.business insider (2021) and Investing.com (2022) converted to time series. The price is shown in US dollars per tonne and the production value in millions of tonnes. Development data were processed using artificial intelligence and recurrent neural networks, including the Long Short Term Memory layer. Neural networks, as such, have great potential to predict these types of time series. The annual copper and aluminium production data were processed using a regression function. Neural networks could not be used due to the smaller data range. The results show that the 1NN30L neural network with an LSTM layer and considered a 30-day delay is the most suitable network for forecasting future copper prices, and the 3NN30L neural network with an LSTM layer and considered a 30-day delay is the most suitable network for forecasting future aluminium prices. The forecast has confirmed that the price of copper will fall at the end of 2021, and the trend will be constant in the next planned period. Aluminium will also fall sharply at the end of 2021; at the beginning of 2022, the price level is predicted to rise to that of 30 October 2021, and thereinafter the trend will be almost constant. Research has confirmed that copper and aluminium may be imperfect substitutes in some respect, but they can generally be considered complementary. Copper mining has stabilised in recent years, but aluminium production has increased significantly in the last decade, and it can be expected to grow in the near future.","PeriodicalId":50889,"journal":{"name":"Acta Montanistica Slovaca","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47817612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis consists of several methods that, in some cases, may yield different results. We used six morphometric methods to evaluate 42 river/creek catchment areas comprising the Spišská Magura region and adjacent parts of the Belianske Tatry Mts. Each method evaluated the possible influence of tectonics on topography numerically (by parameters). The integration of the mean parameter values was used to obtain the relative tectonic activity index (Iat), based on which we determined the role of the tectonic activity in the evolution of each analyzed catchment area. A comparison of the integrated map of relative tectonic activity with the known tectonic lines shows the little match in the Spišská Magura region. This is especially valid for the areas along with a striking Subtatric-Ružbachy fault system (SRFS) that is assumed to be active in the late Pleistocene and where morphometric criteria only show little tectonic activity. In contrast, the parameters provided by some individual methods used for the integrated map of the relative tectonic activity indicate a good match with known tectonic lines. For example, the basin shape ratio and mountain front sinuosity suggest high tectonic activity along the border of the Spišská Magura region and the Pieniny Klippen Belt, which is also indicated in geological maps. The evaluation of U- versus V-shaped valleys (Vf index) shows more intensive uplift of the areas of the Belianske Tatry Mts. compared to the areas within the Spišská Magura region, which is also expected from the geological maps and other studies. The evaluation of individual morphometric parameters and the parameter obtained by their integration implies the necessity to use several morphometric methods for a more reliable assessment of the role of tectonics in the evolution of studied areas.","PeriodicalId":50889,"journal":{"name":"Acta Montanistica Slovaca","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44645732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, assessing and analyzing the different slope failures through fieldwork and laboratory tests of the intact rock mass is important to determine discontinuities' geometrical and geo-engineering parameters. The Northern Galala Plateau is considered a typical case study of instability problems due to excessive bedrock discontinuities. The present study deals with the mapping and assessment of bedrock (Paleozoic sandstones) discontinuities using structural mapping/analysis and geotechnical qualifications as an integrative approach. The study was started by collecting structural data, joint surveying and delineating fault zones as well as highly fractured zones. In addition, the geotechnical qualifications and stability of slopes were assessed using kinematic analysis and Rock Mass Rating (RMR) of discontinuity sets at the lower slope. Quantitative descriptions and statistical distribution of fractures at the study site were well defined. The kinematic analysis of sandstone bedrock masses revealed wedge and/or toppling failures which are controlled by uncomplimentary discontinuities. As a result, RMR values suggested the majority of foundation bedrock is classified as good rock II category, whereas RMR for the fault zone is classified as fair rock III category. Furthermore, discontinuities could not necessarily lead to instability problems during and after construction. The present study highlights the influence of integration between both structural and geotechnical techniques for suitability assessment in development processes which in turn could provide important keys for decision-makers.","PeriodicalId":50889,"journal":{"name":"Acta Montanistica Slovaca","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41983798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To solve the problem of efficient transport technologies, a combination of electromagnetic effects with a bionic approach based on the use of the principles of motion dynamics of dolphins, fish and amphibians with a wave-like swimming method is proposed. The purpose of the study is to develop a structural, object-oriented mathematical model of a channel-type wave electromechanical converter that provides transportation and processing of minerals in liquid, viscous, gaseous and mixed fractions. It is noted that in this case, the existing methods of development and calculation of traditional electric drives are not suitable since the electromagnetic core must have a different spatial arrangement and have a distributed structure, the configuration of which is individual. The construction of a structural bionic model of an electromechanical system is based on the use of a system of travelling wave equations with fixed ends and the principles of the genetic concept in electromechanics. By directional application of genetic and geometric operators to flat and cylindrical forms of electromagnetic field sources, populations of a flow channel and combined structures connected to the ends of a travelling wave are obtained. An object-oriented mathematical model, methodology and algorithm for calculating a multi-motor electromechanical converter integrated into the design of a transport wave system have been developed. The optimal ratios of copper and steel of the electromagnetic core, the geometric dimensions of the flow channel and the number of switched electromagnetic modules providing energetically efficient generation of a travelling wave in the channel are established. The study's theoretical significance lies in the fact that the results obtained can be used in the development of technologies and the design of devices for the transportation and processing of liquid, viscous, gaseous, bulk materials and mixed fractions in the mining industry and in other areas.","PeriodicalId":50889,"journal":{"name":"Acta Montanistica Slovaca","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47368316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To study the evolution characteristics of pressure relief in soft-hard composite coal seam based on directional hydraulic flushing technology, taking Hudi coal mine in China as the engineering background, and the pressure relief effect of directional hydraulic flushing on 'two soft and one hard' composite coal seam was studied by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. The stress evolution of the whole coal seam under a single hole and porous interaction of different flushing radii were analyzed. The field test of directional hydraulic flushing in tectonic soft coal seam similar to protective layer mining was conducted. Results show that when the flushing diameter is 3-4 m, the influence range of stress disturbance covers the whole coal seam, and the vertical stress relief of the primary coal seam is the largest, which provides a theoretical basis for coal seam pressure relief and permeability enhancement technology. The average daily gas extraction (ADGE) concentration has doubled, and the ADGE purity has increased from 0.03 m3/d to 1.07m3/d. The target period of gas extraction is shortened from the expected 6 months to 1 month, and the average daily driving speed of coal roadway increases from 2.32 m/d to 5.37 m/d. The gas extraction efficiency is significantly improved, and the risk of gas outburst is effectively reduced, which has important theoretical and practical significance for improving the pressure relief and permeability enhancement efficiency of the soft and low permeability coal seam.","PeriodicalId":50889,"journal":{"name":"Acta Montanistica Slovaca","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70562343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper identifies key features of the property market which may help understand why the property market performs differently from other markets. A number of factors play an important role in shaping real estate prices, some of which can and cannot be influenced. The quality of the environment is often one of the main important factors, which is also presented by air pollution values. Apart from transport, waste incineration and thermal power plants, the most common causes of air pollution include the mining industry's activities. We aim to explain why property prices do not converge across regions, but prices in expensive regions experience an even stronger price dynamics, a recent phenomenon. We argue that the price dynamics have been predominantly demand-driven in a market with an unelastic and lacking supply of new properties. The real estate market was also significantly affected by the monetary and fiscal policies of individual states. It has been found that money, which has been invested on a large scale in all sectors of the economy in order to limit the negative effects of pandemic measures, has often found its way to investing in assets of all kinds. As a result, real estate prices are rising sharply, especially in richer areas with minimal unemployment. This article aims to offer a deeper insight into the relationship between flats/house prices and variables that proved to be significantly correlated to prices in regional decomposition. Finally, we suggest ways for sustainable future development of the property market.","PeriodicalId":50889,"journal":{"name":"Acta Montanistica Slovaca","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45572179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"地球科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
