This article attempts to identify the current state and direction of Scopus-indexed publications regarding flipped classroom in Indonesia. Bibliometric analysis (Donthu et al., 2021) was utilized to examine 53 papers extracted from Scopus database that published from 2017 until 2023. By employing Harzing’s Publish or Perish and VOSviewer software, this study examined the trends in flipped classroom publication including the documents by year and citation structure, prolific author, most cited publications, document types, publication by source titles, publication by institution. Next, intellectual interactions illustrated by co-authorships, and co-occurrence were also identified. One of the significant findings revealed that there was the slowly increased of flipped classroom publication and the decrease of citations. The findings presented in the study may be a caution for researchers to continuously maintain and boost publication productivity, and explore research methodologies that have been unexplored.","PeriodicalId":508537,"journal":{"name":"Utamax : Journal of Ultimate Research and Trends in Education","volume":"245 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139177274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is qualitative with case study method. The data obtained were then analyzed using SWOT analysis. SWOT analysis is used to find out the right strategy in implementing the PjBL model in Basic Science and Mathematics Courses. The results of the analysis are then described descriptively. As for the results of this study, based on the results of IFAS and EFAS calculations, IFAS = 5.037 and EFAS = 4.407. Based on this value, the IFAS and EFAS intersection points are in quadrant II, so the strategy that fits these conditions is the S-T strategy. This condition illustrates that despite facing various threats, the implementation of this PjBL still has internal strength. The strategy that must be implemented is to use strength to take advantage of long-term opportunities by way of a diversification strategy. Based on the SWOT analysis matrix above, strategies that can be implemented to maximize the implementation of the PjBL model in basic science and mathematics courses are Identify learning objectives, Select relevant and challenging projects, Form effective learning teams, Provide support and guidance, Integrate with the curriculum, Comprehensive performance-based evaluation, Collaboration with industry or the community.","PeriodicalId":508537,"journal":{"name":"Utamax : Journal of Ultimate Research and Trends in Education","volume":"140 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139227766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many EFL students struggle to achieve fluency in spoken English despite years of study. This disinterest stems from limited enthusiasm and participation. Incorporating innovative media into learning is expected to improve students' speaking skills. Therefore, this research investigates the effect of using pictures in speaking skills development through guessing games. The study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design. A sample of 25 eighth-grade students was selected from a population of 118 at a private school in Sidoarjo. SPSS Version 26 was used to analyze pre- and post-test data. The findings indicate that using pictures in guessing games effectively increased EFL students' speaking abilities, as evidenced by significant score disparities between the pre-test average (11.12) and post-test (16.32). Additionally, the t-count value of 14.066, compared to the t-table value of 2.064 at a 0.05 significance level, suggests a substantial improvement. These results demonstrate that guessing games using pictures significantly enhance student engagement and interest in learning speaking skills. The findings imply that employing pictures in guessing games can potentially enhance student engagement in speaking class activities. Teachers are encouraged to use innovative media to inspire students and enhance their speaking skills.","PeriodicalId":508537,"journal":{"name":"Utamax : Journal of Ultimate Research and Trends in Education","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139235421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
