Through a cross-sectional experimental clinical study, we sought to evaluate the effect of the Adapted Lymphatic Protocol of Medicinal Biomagnetism on pain in the lower limbs of patients with peripheral edema of lymphatic origin. Medicinal Biomagnetism is a therapeutic system developed in 1988 by Dr. Isaac Goiz Durán that uses static magnetic fields generated by medium intensity magnets. These magnets are applied in pairs, one with a north pole, with a calming effect, and the other with a south pole, which activates areas with organic deficiencies, known as Biomagnetic Pairs. Carried out on four female participants, the study applied the protocol in three sessions, spaced weekly. The results demonstrated a reduction in the measurements of the lower limbs, relief in the intensity of pain and discomfort in the legs, although the lymphedema did not disappear completely. It was concluded that Medicinal Biomagnetism proved to be a non-invasive, accessible approach with few side effects, with the potential to alleviate pain and improve quality of life in patients with peripheral edema of lymphatic origin.","PeriodicalId":507713,"journal":{"name":"Health and Society","volume":"109 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139171573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Family Health Strategy consists of a strategy for changing the so far existing Brazilian health model experienced until the 1990s. The Family Health Strategy is inserted in a context of political and institutional decision-making to strengthen primary care within the Unified Health System. The multiprofessional health work carried out by the Family Health Strategy (ESF) teams has been characterized by a division of labor among health professionals in order to promote positive and effective impacts on the different factors that interfere in the health-disease process. Objective: to understand the historical trajectory of transformation of the Brazilian health care model with a focus on primary care and its interface with the uniqueness of the performance of professionals working at this level of care. Methods: an integrative literature review study was conducted. Results: the results showed the relevance of the work developed for health effectiveness, in which it is understood that the performance of these professionals should follow a model that integrates competence, knowledge and problem solving. Professionals working in the family health strategy are important in the promotion, information and health education of the communities in which they are included. The work involves a respectful and humanized action with emphasis on autonomy, the development of healthy habits, prevention and health care of the population that meet the new vision of health system in the country. Conclusion: the historical construction of the Brazilian health system has gone through the paradigmatic change of understanding of the health-disease process, requiring dynamic, proactive and community, managerial and interpersonal skills to this reform.","PeriodicalId":507713,"journal":{"name":"Health and Society","volume":"167 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139171770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the main failures in composite resin restorations is postoperative sensitivity, which causes discomfort for both the patient and the dentist due to the need to redo the procedure. The aim of this study is to demonstrate, through the literature, the possible origins of postoperative sensitivity and to describe more effective methods to minimize it. A literature review was conducted, with a temporal focus on the last 10 years (2013–2023), where articles published on the topic were searched in the PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar, Scribd, and Lilacs databases. Postoperative sensitivity occurs due to the movement of existing dentinal fluids in the dentin, caused by inadequate sealing of dentinal tubules. Procedure failure is associated with factors such as restorative technique, adhesive system, monomer conversion rate, and polymerization time, which can lead to postoperative sensitivity. Thus, postoperative sensitivity can be triggered by various factors during the clinical procedure, requiring attention at every stage of the restorative technique by the dentist","PeriodicalId":507713,"journal":{"name":"Health and Society","volume":"27 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139182749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Human development is marked by several natural processes within the body itself, however, skin aging is a factor that occurs intrinsically or extrinsically, leaving the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines visible. The use of botulinum toxin type A (TBA or Botox) has been carefully used for aesthetic purposes in the treatment of discomfort resulting from facial skin aging. The present study aimed to present the aesthetic benefits of using botulinum toxin - Botox. This is an integrative review of the literature using the National Library of Medicine (PubMed) and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases with the search for articles using the descriptors “botulinum toxin”; “aesthetics” and “facial aging” registered in DeCS with the help of the boolean operator and. The selection of articles was carried out using the inclusion criteria where articles from the last five were selected, in Portuguese or foreign language and which were correlated with the main theme of the research. For the exclusion criteria, articles that were not consistent with the theme and duplicate articles were excluded by title or abstract. Thus, the present study aimed to achieve the objectives described through literature review analysis, where it was possible to verify the effectiveness and benefits of TBA in the facial aging process. Furthermore, it was possible to enable scientific research as a development for further studies in the area of aesthetics in general and contributing to a greater collection of knowledge.","PeriodicalId":507713,"journal":{"name":"Health and Society","volume":"55 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139254082","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aiming: to present the recommendations evidenced in the literature for pain relief during labor. This research was carried out through an integrative literature review, with an exploratory approach, whose institute was summarized in investigating, through already published articles, relevant information that answered the guiding question. Thus, the searches took place through a survey of data in the scientific bases: LILACS and SCIELO. For analysis of the results, 10 articles were selected. In view of these results, through analysis of scientific evidence, the literature found some important outcomes regarding methods for pain relief during labor. Thus, it can be considered that acupuncture, music therapy, lumbosacral massage, aromatherapy, hot baths, relaxing massages and the use of the Swiss ball stand out among the main methods that health professionals can implement to minimize pain and hours of work. This study found in its results that obstetric professionals should promote the use and acceptance of non-pharmacological methods to reduce pain during labor, reduce labor time and encourage women to participate in the physiological process of childbirth. In this context, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy and music therapy were the most cited recommendations as a therapeutic option, which can decrease adrenaline levels throughout the body, leading to pain relief.","PeriodicalId":507713,"journal":{"name":"Health and Society","volume":"16 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139271252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
