Relationships among the community members are based on shared beliefs, goals, activities, or interests. This article traces the development of ideas about Christian community in the Scriptures, in the views of the Church fathers, theologians, and in the Church documents. Inspiration from the Scriptures is used to find the Christian vision of a community that can shape the evangelisation. The views of the Church fathers and of the later theologians are selected to provide an overview of the development of ideas about Christian communities that are more connected with the actual life of the faithful, especially the young generation. Pope Francis’ Postsynodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit (2019) is referred to in order to provide a picture of a Christian community that is more suited to the young people. Finally, the development of ideas about a Christian community will be correlated with the actual experiences of Catholic students at “Student Church” (Gema) in the Bandung Diocese, Indonesia. It employs descriptive library research methodology to elucidate the elements and aspects of both space and identity. It draws upon Michel Foucault’s concept of heterotopia for the understanding of space and the theory of profile formulated by Hans-Georg Moeller and Paul J. D’Ambrosio. The analysis delves into these theories and their interrelation concerning identity formation. The authors conclude that from Foucault's perspective, space can be seen as having distinctive characteristics, tied to axio-ontological components that need to be fulfilled before entering a heterotopic space. This position is then intersected with Luhmann’s second-order observation, resulting in a dynamically linked profilic identity to a particular space. This paper finds that in Foucault’s thinking, heterotopia emphasises the impossibility of space being separated into a label. Space as a site (“cultural framework”) may still be enforced by designing it to fulfill certain functions. As a consequence, it becomes increasingly difficult for these spaces to be seen as relevant to society’s way of being today. This is one of Anne Friedberg's main ideas in her works, which supports the main basis for this article. The Covid-19 pandemic that has occurred since March 2020 has limited, reduced, slowed down, and in some situations it could even be said it almost stopped human mobility, for example, in areas over the world where the ‘lockdown’ policy was applied. As a consequence, mobility turns into immobility. This condition corresponds to the reality during the pandemic dominated by the presence of screen. There has been growing importance of domestic space as the centre of everydayness that gives crucial role to the screen as its window to the world. This could be perceived as virtual mobility, in the sense that it was a ‘mobility’ without bodily mobility. This article elaborates Friedberg's thoughts with regard to virtual mobility that has been increasingly dominated by the screen, by examining its relevance to the actual conditions of the people during the pandemic. The reality of educational process in schools in Indonesia still needs further reflection on whether it is truly liberating and transforming those who are involved in the process. In this article, philosophical thinking about a liberating education process is correlated with the Franciscan spirituality which serves as the driving force to realise a more humanising, liberating, and transformative education. The transformative dimension of education can be seen spiritually in the Christian tradition as the experience of repentance, that can happen in the teachers as well as in the students. The philosophical concept of education is used as a basis and rational framework for evaluating the educational process, and then the spiritual inspiration provides a spiritual framework to direct the development of educational process so that it continues to lead to the shared vision that is the goal of Christian educational institutions. The research aims to analyse the challenges and opportunities in pursuing recognition and protection of indigenous peoples within the framework of interactive universalism, by emphasising cultural diversity and the importance of the local context. Interactive universalism concerns about the importance of dialogue, public participation, and the adaptation of democratic principles in preserving indigenous peoples' rights. Here interactive universalism is used to review the state of indigenous peoples' rights in Indonesia. Various public policies have caused conflicts, ranging from land take over to human rights violation, that are detrimental to the existence of indigenous peoples. Public policy as a representation of the state should protect their rights. In this article public policies are reviewed from the perspective of interactive universalism. The review process will consider cultural diversity in order to prevent future problems and to recommend adequate and assured protection of the rights of indigenous peoples.
