But the reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is used as the \"black aggregate,\" and the aged asphalt has not been fully utilized. Therefore, activating and reusing the aged asphalt in RAP is one of the key problems to be solved. By using artificially aged asphalt instead of naturally aged asphalt, this work reports a new technique for activating asphalt of RAP by functional oil emulsion. The functional oil emulsion was prepared by phase inversion method, and the asphalt regeneration effects were studied in detail. The optimum results showed that the solid content of the functional oil emulsion was 50% and the average particle size was 2.17 μm. The storage stability of 1 day and 5 days were 2.2% and 4.8% respectively, and the demulsification time at 20 °C and 40 °C were 2 hours and 1 hour respectively. By studying the penetration, ductility and softening point of recycled asphalt under different dosages of functional oil emulsion, it is found that the parameters of the recycled asphalt recover to more than 94% at 12% content of functional oil emulsion.","PeriodicalId":506985,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Science and Technology","volume":"92 2","pages":"1385 - 1401"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141389252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The characteristic of choke flow is quite complex and involves many factors, such as choke size, pressure and liquid-gas ratio (LGR). Gilbert-type correlations have been widely used in choke flow studying, but they are empirical and their accuracy is easily affected by operational conditions or special reservoir properties. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to the applicability of Gilbert-type correlation. This paper collected over 10,000 sets of data from 12 shale gas wells in Changning region, analyzed the influence of LGR on the prediction accuracy of Gilbert-type correlations, and developed a new correlation named Piecewise Gilbert-type Correlation (PGC) for gas-liquid two-phase flow through chokes. The results showed that LGR had a great impact on the prediction accuracy, and therefore the LGR data during the flowback period could be divided into several stages for data-fitting separately. PGC was established on multiple LGR stages, which led to multiple different groups of empirical coefficients, and had been proved to be more accurate on the whole. Specifically, the overall error and the mean error of PGC for the testing data were reduced to 13.3 and 0.0839.","PeriodicalId":506985,"journal":{"name":"Petroleum Science and Technology","volume":"323 15","pages":"428 - 447"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139833367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
