It may be associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) as part of an overlap syndrome, but there are very few reports of this in the literature. \u0000Case Report: We report the case of a 19-year-old patient admitted with moderate haemoptysis, epistaxis and petechial purpura revealing intra-alveolar haemorrhage with a strongly positive P-ANCA. In addition, blood tests for antinuclear antibodies and rheumatoid factor were positive, with renal involvement suggesting associated lupus as part of an overlap syndrome. Progression was good with corticoide and immunosuppressant treatment. \u0000Conclusion: The clinical presentation of overlap syndrome is rare and severe, with a dual immunological profile of antinuclear antibodies and neutrophil cytoplasm.

During this period, bodily changes and the maturation of emotions occur, which can cause difficulties in understanding on the part of adolescents. Body image, which is constructed at this stage of life, is one of the most worrying elements among adolescents, who try to follow the standards spread among their peers. This article presents some aspects of the evolution of adolescents, the influences on the formation of their body image and practices of modifying their appearance (tattoos and piercings), as well as suggestions so that those responsible for adolescents' health care can understand these conditions and act effectively in welcoming and guiding these individuals.

Plaque indices, probing depths, clinical attachment levels, and bleeding on probing were measured. Subsequently, the collected samples were categorized into three groups: a gingivitis group (n=8), a periodontitis group (n=12), and a control group (n=11). The quantification of H2O2 content within these samples was analyzed using an H2O2/peroxidase test kit. \u0000Results: Higher levels of H2O2 were found in the periodontitis group compared to group control and gingivitis (p<0.0001). Furthermore, the gingivitis group also shown elevated H2O2 levels compared to the control group (p<0.0001). \u0000Conclusions: The findings suggest that the severity of periodontal disease could be associated with elevated levels of H2O2 in gingival crevicular fluid. Hydrogen peroxide may potentially serve as a biomarker for disease progression or for products aimed at enhancing H2O2 release in periodontal treatment. However, further investigations with larger sample sizes and longitudinal designs are necessary to corroborate and expand upon these preliminary observations.

She was consulted for a recent dyspnea evolving in a context of altered general state without any digestive sign. A thoracic scan showed a medial mass measuring 53*56*60mm. The lung biopsy revealed a muscular adenocarcinoma of colorectal origin with immunohistochemical expression of cytokeratin 7 (CK7), 20 and cytokeratin (CK) AE1/AE3, CDX2.The Pet Scan confirmed the existence of a hypermetabolic left anterosuperior medial mass in addition to a focal digestive hypermetabolism of the right colonic wall. \u0000A colonoscopy was performed and showed a tumor process in the right colon with a histological and immunohistochemical profile compatible with that of the mediastinal metastasis. The tumor was MSS (microsatellite stable), RAS (rat sarcoma) and BRAF(v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1)wild type. The patient received a 3-month folfox-panitimumab combination with good tolerance and a partial response of about 50% on the metastasis. \u0000Conclusions: This case report provide a highly unusual instance of colon adenocarcinoma with extensive mediastinal lymph nodes metastasis.

Multiple approaches to TMJ are described in the literature due to the complexity of their exposure without damaging the noble structures in the region (facial nerve, temporal artery, and parotid gland) and causing aesthetic damage. This article will present a case report of a 21-year-old female patient. The post-auricular approach removed loose anchors in the right TMJ due to a fistula in the pre-auricular approach region. The post-auricular approach efficiently exposed TMJ and the healing, presenting superior aesthetic results compared to other TMJ approaches.

The objective of this study was to analyze the epidemiological profile, risk factors for complications and death in the in-hospital postoperative period, in addition to describing the histological type of intracranial tumors most frequently operated on in a private Brazilian institution. \u0000Study Design: Retrospective cohort study. \u0000Place and Duration of Study: Biocor Instituto/Rede D’Or, from 2018 to 2021 \u0000Methodology: Data were collected from the medical records of patients who underwent surgery for intracranial tumors. The variables analyzed in this study were demographic characteristics (age, sex, and comorbidities), histological types of primary and secondary neoplasms, anatomical location of the lesions, neurological deficits at admission and post-surgical treatment (at discharge), whether the surgery was urgent or elective, whether it was a reoperation, and whether there were deaths or complications during hospitalization. \u0000Results: Of 242 patients, 11 patients were excluded, and 231 patients were included in the analysis. The most common histological type was meningioma, accounting for 28% of cases. The histological type most associated with the risk of death was hemangioblastoma; however, it was also the histological type that presented the lowest incidence of cases. 39 patients (17%) had some complication in the in-hospital postoperative period, and 14 patients (6%) died. \u0000Conclusions: Meningiomas constituted the majority of cases, accounting for 28% of the sample. The rate of complications and mortality was higher when compared to data from the international literature because this series analyzed brain metastases together with the excision of primary tumors. Concerning in-hospital deaths, hemangioblastoma emerged as the histological type most associated with the risk of death. It is noteworthy, however, that hemangioblastoma also exhibited the lowest incidence among the various histological types.
