Excessive axle loads and environmental influences cause permanent deformation, cracking, residual deformations in the form of rutting, fatigue and shortening the service life of highways. The use of reinforcing microfibers (fibers) in the asphalt concrete mixture is gaining popularity, as it can improve the mechanical properties of the asphalt concrete layers of the road structure and increase its strength and durability. Problems. Based on the literature analysis, it was established that the use of fiber (fibers) can improve the properties of asphalt concrete. Goal. It consists in the analysis and generalization of the existing experience regarding the use and influence of fiber on the properties of asphalt concrete. Results. An analysis of the experience of using fiber and the influence of fiber on the properties of asphalt concrete, in particular natural fiber, synthetic fiber, glass fiber, metal fiber, and mineral fiber, was conducted. Conclusions. The review highlights the potential benefits of using fiber in an asphalt mixture, including improved stiffness and cracking resistance, reduced rutting, and increased fatigue resistance. However, the effectiveness of fiber in improving the mechanical properties of asphalt concrete is influenced by various factors such as fiber type, content, and distribution. Further research and studies are needed to optimize fiber selection, refine mixture design procedures, improve fiber introduction technologies into the asphalt concrete mixture, and conduct environmental and economic impact assessments.","PeriodicalId":506476,"journal":{"name":"Dorogi i mosti","volume":"116 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141126751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with the analysis and coverage of statistical data related to the development and application of temporary loads and the relevant norms for the design of bridge structures. Problem Statement. Over the past 5-7 years, the highway bridges of Ukraine have undergone significant changes in the intensity and composition of traffic flows. At the same time, the load, which is established by the current regulations, does not take into account the tendency to increase the weight of cars. At the same time, a significant part of the building's life cycle takes place under conditions of overload, which leads to premature destruction and overspending on repairs. In this regard, it is not always possible to unambiguously assign the type of calculated load, which can cause significant errors in the assessment of the strength and serviceability of bridge structures. Materials and methods. Comparison of estimated vehicle loads of models H-10, H-13, H-18, NK-80, Н-30, NK-100, NG-60, A11, A15, AB-51, AB-74, AB-151 (from 1931 to 2023) with the LM1 model of Eurocode EN 1991-2 shows that there is some balance between the two. The estimated load according to Ukrainian standards is intermediate between the standards of Europe and the USA. However, the level of characteristic loads is almost twice as low as in the Eurocode. This is a significant shortcoming of state building regulations, as it reduces the level of reliability of calculations.","PeriodicalId":506476,"journal":{"name":"Dorogi i mosti","volume":"117 48","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141126427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with the issues of expanding the regulatory and technical base of the road sector for the construction of roads with cement concrete pavement. The article covers the issues of improving the existing and developing new requirements for the construction of cement concrete pavements with pin-connected slabs, reinforced slabs with pin connection, with continuous reinforcement and using rolled cement concrete mixtures using modern technologies. Improvement of the national regulatory framework is carried out on the basis of the analysis of existing legal acts, regulatory documents, technical literature related to the objects of standardization and, of course, taking into account the requirements of safety and environmental protection and the factors and features established by the current martial law in Ukraine. The work concerns the developed national standards for the installation of cement concrete pavements, namely those innovations that have already been agreed upon and are planned to be submitted to the National Standardization Body for adoption in the near future. Problem statement. Implementation of a unified technical policy to ensure the reliability and durability of roads, increase the efficiency of capital investments, implementation of scientific and technical achievements of science and best domestic and international practices in the practice of construction of roads with cement concrete pavement, issues of saving material, labor, financial and energy resources, improving the quality of construction work, labor safety and health conditions, rational use of land and other types of natural resources. The fact of constant growth in the intensity of heavy vehicles traffic, which is associated with the transportation of heavy machinery, agricultural products, metallurgical products, etc., significantly affects the reduction of the service life of roads with non-rigid pavement. This necessitates the search for alternative solutions for the construction of more durable pavement structures, one of which is the improvement of existing and introduction of new technologies for the construction of cement concrete pavements.","PeriodicalId":506476,"journal":{"name":"Dorogi i mosti","volume":"115 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141126356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
