Facial exercise therapy is the most important treatment approach for this patient which could improve facial function for moderate and chronic cases and reduce sequelae in acute cases of bell's Palsy. The role of nurse includes educating and encouraging patients to practice facial exercises Aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of facial exercises on functional ability for patients with Bell's Palsy. Study design : A quasi-experimental design with pre/post-test was utilized. Setting: This study was conducted in outpatient clinic of Neurology which affiliated to Ain Shams university hospital. Egypt. Sample: A Purposive sample of 40 patients. Procedure: data were collected using two tools as follow: I-Patients' demographic and medical data record. II-Patients’ functional disability scale (pre/post and follow) implementation of the facial exercises for patients with Bell's Palsy. Results : The results showed a significant positive correlation between total physical wellbeing, social/psychological wellbeing, and Facial muscle assessment pre/post and follow up implementation of facial exercises at p= <0.001. The Conclusion : There was significant improvement, with highly statistical significance among the studied patients’ physical, social/psychological wellbeing pre/post and follow up implementation of facial exercises. In clinical practice, it can help physicians decide whether to perform invasive cardiac catheterization to visualize the extent of the coronary block. Material and methods this study is a cross sectional postmortem study included 80 cases, for which a full autopsies were performed, and included measurement of heart weight, left ventricle posterior wall thickness, and interventricular septum thickness. The measurement was statistically analyzed and correlated to age sex and cardiovascular diseases. Results; the result of this study has revealed a strong positive correlation between age and heart weight; Correlation is significant at the 0.01 level (2-tailed). By using student (t) test, the difference between the means weight of heart in males and females is highly significant: P < 0.05. P = 0.004. The same result were obtained for the LVPW thickness and IVS thickness; the difference in mean LVPW thickness and IVS thickness between male and female is highly significant P < 0.05. There is a strong positive correlation between heart weight and cardiac diseases as well as the LVPW and IVS thickness and cardiovascular diseases. Conclusion there is a highly significant positive correlation between age and sex, on one hand, and interventricular septal thickness, left ventricular posterior wall thickness and heart weight on the other hand, and, therefore, age and sex should be considered in order to assess the significance of these measurements in clinical practice. Emotion regulation nursing intervention is a breakthrough treatment that has been empirically targeted to restore positive emotional states and strengthen mental clarity in the geriatric population. Aim: This study aimed to determine the effect of emotion regulation nursing intervention on emotional regulation difficulties and peace of mind among older adults. Design: A quasi-experimental methodological approach was applied. Setting: Two seniors’ clubs that belonged to Egypt's Ministry of Social Solidarity, Alexandria Governorate were included. Study participants: 80 older adults (aged 60 and above), randomly assigned into two equal groups. The study group received the study intervention, and the control group, received regular seniors’ club services. Tools: 4 tools were used for data collection: 1) Mini-Mental State Examination Scale (MMES), 2) Brief version of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale: the DERS-16, 3) The Peace of Mind Scale: PoM, and 4) Socio-demographic and Health Profile of Older Adults Structured Interview Schedule. Results: The reported emotional regulation difficulties score was significantly reduced in the study group from 73.59±5.99 to 19.18±8.0 following the intervention (P<0.001) and was significantly higher than the control group’s post-test percent score 70.63±4.20 (P<0.001). The peace of mind score increased from 11.70±7.84 to 24.91±0.56 among the study group following the interventions and was significantly higher than that of the control group’s post-test percent scores 6.07±5.0 (P<0.001). Conclusion: Emotion regulation nursing intervention generated a significant reduction in older adults’ emotional regulation difficulties and a significant improvement in their peace of mind. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of foot reflexology on the impact of foot reflexology on patients' post-craniotomy weaning from mechanical ventilation and time to full consciousness recovery. Design: A quasi-experimental research design was used to conduct this study. Setting: The study was carried out at the neurosurgery intensive care unit at Beni-Suef University Hospital. Subjects: A purposive sample of 60 patients post-craniotomy was recruited in this study; the studied patients were assigned into two groups, with 30 patients in each group (the intervention and control groups). In the intervention group, foot reflexology was done twice a day, in the morning and the evening, for 30 minutes (15 minutes for each foot), in addition to the patient's regular care. This was done for a week. The control group just received standard post-craniotomy treatment. Tools: Four tools were used to collect data: Tool (1): Patients personal data. Tool (II) : Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), Tool (III): Time of full consciousness , and Tool (IV): Withdrawal from the ventilator . Results : The findings indicated that there was no statistically significant variation in the demographic attributes of the two groups (p>0.05). The findings showed that, in comparison to the control group, the intervention group's mean scores for the amount of time required to regain consciousness and wean off of mechanical ventilation were significantly lower. Conclusion : The results showed that foot reflexology on the impact of foot reflexology have a positive effect on patients' post-craniotomy weaning from mechanical ventilation and time to full consciousness recovery. Recommendation : Foot reflexology is recommended to be applied as a non-pharmacological strategy and complementary therapy along with routine care to reduce weaning from mechanical ventilation and time to full consciousness recovery.","PeriodicalId":505881,"journal":{"name":"Egyptian Journal of Health Care","volume":"78 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141231133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
