The estimation of the coefficients for the DPD model is therefore crucial but resource-intensive. Meanwhile, spiking neural networks (SNNs) are considered to have advantages in energy efficiency due to their ability to closely mimic the activity of human brain neurons. In this paper, we introduce a novel approach to estimate the coefficients of the DPD model. This approach uses a regressor with a structure that combines SNN and artificial neural network (ANN), along with two different loss functions. The proposed method is evaluated with datasets measured on a strongly nonlinear PA with a peak output power of 200W. The results show that we can achieve a good fit of generalized memory polynomial (GMP) based DPD coefficients with the proposed method. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that the SNN is used in computing DPD coefficients. This study offers valuable insights into the potential of SNN-based wireless communication technologies.","PeriodicalId":505542,"journal":{"name":"2023 6th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"38 4","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139183521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, the uplink RF transmissions between the users and a relay node undergo a Nakagami-m fading while the FSO link between the relay node and the destination node experiences a gamma-gamma fading. Considering this model, the statistical features constituted of the probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) are obtained in closed form. The derived expressions are subsequently used to obtain the analytical expressions of the secrecy outage probability (SOP) and the probability of the strictly positive secrecy capacity (SPSC). Monte Carlo simulations are provided to verify the accuracy of the proposed analytical framework.","PeriodicalId":505542,"journal":{"name":"2023 6th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"7 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139183740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the standard OLSR faces suboptimal MPR node selection issues, primarily relying on simple algorithms. As MANETs grow in size and dynamism, the simplistic MPR selection algorithm can significantly impact the quality of service of the OLSR protocol. In this paper, we propose pertinent ideas based on a combination of metrics to enhance the selection of optimal MPRs by prioritizing more stable nodes in terms of mobility and energy. This approach aims to improve overall network performance. Additionally, we incorporate a mobility metric into the standard algorithm of MPRs selection, giving birth to a new protocol named M-OLSR. Simulations showed that the results obtained by M-OLSR exceed those obtained by standard OLSR and E-OLSRI in terms of, delay, throughput, energy Consumed and number of MPR generated.","PeriodicalId":505542,"journal":{"name":"2023 6th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"23 4","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139183808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For an MNO to be able to provide HD voice and video calls, is essential to use a dedicated IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network. The contribution of this paper is the analysis of measured data collected from real-time testbeds related to the fifth generation (5G) mobile network and then, computing the inter-Mean-Opinion-Score (iMOS) and QoS metrics for both 5G Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice over New Radio (VoNR) services over IMS. Thus, there are evaluated QoS metrics throughout the communication stages among the User Equipment (UE) for the 5G Stand-Alone (SA) and 5G Non-Stand-Alone (NSA) networks. The obtained results show how QoS metrics like jitter and delay impact the iMOS results. The obtained results satisfy the requirement for VoNR and 5G VoLTE which show iMOS values greater than 4 out of 5 where 5 represents the best quality. The results were obtained in a controlled environment laboratory, using specialized radio test stations with non-interference outdoor propagation signals and lower path loss since can be used as a reference for upcoming research.","PeriodicalId":505542,"journal":{"name":"2023 6th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"94 4","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139184211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given the terrific number of sources, OSNs can be used for event forecasting and its characterization. Although the vast majority of information is noise, OSNs can be a source of data for the early detection and characterization of malware spreading-this representing a significant advantage for the defense team, which can be informed much in advance of when the malware affects the system. In this paper, we propose an early malware characterization technique that combines statistical analysis with Natural Language Processing (NLP). Using this approach, we analyze various malware behaviors over time and discover their characteristics, such as target system types, target applications, vulnerabilities, locations, propagation scale, etc., in order to appropriately prevent/detect/mitigate their malicious activities and implement suitable actions effectively. We tested and evaluated our approach on a dataset collected from Twitter that includes widespread ransomware indicators.
