Amidst the pandemic, online training has emerged as the predominant approach for delivering teacher training. The COVID-19 pandemic has created potential opportunities and challenges for online training, which may have a long-lasting impact on online training procedures in the post-pandemic era. This study aims to determine the primary potential and constraints of online training as seen by instructors. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) identified online training opportunities and challenges by examining the to-be-applied behavioral intention variables that influence trainees. These variables include individual, system, social, and organizational factors. The study has applied the Phenomenological technique to address the research issues, using the Semi-structured interview tool to get a comprehensive knowledge of the online training phenomena amongst the pandemic. A total of seven participants were selected from a list of general education teachers at the Central Education Office of the Education Department in Bisha Governorate. These people were deliberately selected because of their high frequency of completing training sessions throughout the epidemic. A series of interviews was conducted with these participants. The findings indicated that the primary prospects included both equal opportunities and digital culture within the individual factors, enrollment in training programs and variation in training programs across organizational characteristics, the use of digital material and electronic archiving within the system variables, engaging in the exchange of personal experiences, providing constructive criticism, and fostering favorable communication within the realm of social factors. However, the primary obstacles included deficiencies in digital competencies, compatibility of trainees’ attributes, and dearth of desire as per individual factors, the temporal arrangement of training programs, as well as the lack of prior preparation and preparedness within the realm of organizational factors. Other challenges included the absence of trainer assessment, limited diversity of training exercises, and technological obstacles within the system factors, and ultimately the absence of engagement with the instructor, and lack of engagement with peers are within the social variable.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"22 26","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141925157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Examining the role and efficacy of business intelligence (BI) technologies in gathering, processing, and evaluating data to assist responsible management practices and decision-making is crucial in the modern age, especially for educational institutions. This study investigates the impact of Business Intelligence (BI) tools on Knowledge Management (KM) stages and their subsequent influence on Responsible Business Practices Outcomes in the educational sector of the United Arab Emirates. Using a quantitative research design, the study collected data from 406 faculty and staff members across various UAE universities via a structured survey. It analyzed the data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed a significant positive relationship between the use of BI Tools and the implementation of KM Stages, indicating that the utilization of BI tools is instrumental in enhancing knowledge management processes. However, the direct effect of BI Tools’ usage on responsible business practices’ outcomes was insignificant, suggesting the need for a mediating factor. KM Stages Implementation emerged as a significant mediator, indicating that the benefits of BI tools on responsible business practices are realized through their influence on KM processes. Moderation analyses showed that Institutional Culture, Training, and Expertise significantly moderated the relationship between BI Tools Usage and KM stage implementation, while Support from Management did not have a significant moderating effect. These findings highlight the importance of fostering an enabling institutional culture and investing in training and expertise to leverage the full potential of BI tools in promoting responsible business practices in educational settings. The study contributes to the literature on technology adoption in education and provides practical implications for educational administrators and policymakers seeking to integrate BI tools into their institutional practices.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"22 16","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141925446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although considerable empirical studies conducted on organizational change, few gave attention to the management of change and its impact on organizational culture and service delivery in the context of public organizations in Ethiopia. By adopting planned change management framework, this study delves into how change management in public organizations affects service delivery directly and indirectly through organizational culture. Using explanatory research design, first survey questionnaires were administered to 301 participants selected through stratified sampling across 16 public organizations in Oromia, the largest state in Ethiopia. Results of astructural equation modeling analysis revealthat change management has no significant direct effect on public service delivery, but has an indirect significant positive effectthrough theorganizational culture which fully mediates the relationship. Subsequent thematic analysis of qualitative interview data collected from 10 managers demonstrate that change management in public organizations is less effective and driven intuitively without any change management framework. The results imply that effective change management significantly improves public service delivery by fostering supportive or constructive organizational culture. The use of change management framework substantively improves change planning, understanding, communication and implementation as well as positive work culture and hence improves effectiveness of service delivery. Accordingly, theoretical and practical implications of the results are discussed.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"53 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141922698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We find that these enterprises play a critical role in implementing national strategies, promoting industrial upgrading, and enhancing the competitiveness of the industry chain. At the same time, their relocation has also dispersed the pressure of economic development in Beijing, promoted regional economic coordination and development, and increased local fiscal revenue. However, attention should be paid to the particularity and diversity of local areas in the process of policy formulation to avoid “one-size-fits-all” solutions. Therefore, when formulating corresponding policies, the central government should guide enterprises to handle relocation issues correctly and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of employees and their families. Meanwhile, local governments should also formulate corresponding support policies to facilitate enterprise settlement. The ultimate goal is to solve problems and contradictions through development and achieve common prosperity. Therefore, we suggest that the government and enterprises work together to bring prosperity to everyone and jointly promote the sustainable development of the Chinese economy.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"33 50","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141924834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to accomplish the objectives proposed with hypotheses, a model reflecting the relationship between service delivery quality dimensions and satisfaction moderated by academic and social integration towards retention is applied. This empirical study focused on probability-stratified random sampling with a final sample size of 309 students. This study achieved statistically significant positive results by emphasizing academic and social integration as a moderating variable to achieve student retention by linking Perceived Performance Theory and Tinto’s Interactionist Theory from satisfaction to retention. Evaluation of the structural model on the coefficient of determination for the model’s predictive accuracy in this study produced an R2 = 0.85 for satisfaction, suggesting nearly 85% of the variance in endogenous latent construct satisfaction is explained by all the service delivery quality dimensions linked to it. As for retention produced R2 = 0.74, suggesting nearly 74% of the variance in endogenous latent construct retention is explained by all the service delivery quality dimensions linked together with satisfaction and academic and social integration as moderator. The model has a substantial effect with 0.76 in the Goodness-of-Fit index, indicating that the model has better explaining power.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"60 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141923197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analyzed data period is 1970–2022 using the nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model. In the long term, positive and negative shocks to economic growth and FDI significantly affect poverty in Indonesia. Increased growth and FDI will have a significant effect on poverty alleviation. Likewise, when there are negative shocks from economic growth and FDI, it will increase the percentage of the poverty rate. Meanwhile, the inflation variable has a different effect on the conditions of positive and negative shocks. In positive shocks, inflation has a positive and insignificant effect, while in negative shocks, inflation has a negative and significant effect on poverty. It shows that a decrease in the price of goods significantly impacts poverty alleviation in the long term. Furthermore, trade has no significant effect in the long term in both positive and negative shocks. The short-term estimation results show that all variables are significant for positive and negative shocks, except for positive shocks of inflation and negative shocks of trade. Therefore, it is recommended that the government adopt a poverty reduction program by improving more stable economic growth instruments, increasing foreign investment that is more labor-intensive, and controlling inflation more effectively to avoid unreasonable increases in the price of goods.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"46 51","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141924453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It specifically examines the mediating roles of perceived organizational support and employee engagement in this relationship. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative research approach was adopted, collecting data from 260 full-time employees of Homa Hotel Group (HHG) in Iran. A mediation analysis using the PROCESS Macro Model was utilized to test the proposed hypothetical model. Findings: The findings reveal a positive relationship between organizational culture and employee commitment. Additionally, the mediation analysis confirms that this relationship is partially mediated by perceived organizational support. Research limitations/implications: While the study offers insights into the Iranian job market, its focus on a single organization limits the generalizability of the findings. Future research could expand this study to other sectors and cultural contexts to enhance understanding of these dynamics. Originality/value: This research contributes to the literature on organizational culture and employee commitment by elucidating the mediating role of perceived organizational support and employee engagement in the Iranian context. Its findings hold both theoretical and practical implications, offering valuable insights for organizations aiming to foster employee commitment amidst challenging economic conditions.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"120 21","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141926146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In several Asian coastal countries, in the capture fisheries business, this PCR has been going on for a very long time and continues today. This research aims to analyze patterns of PCRs from social and economic aspects, as well as the nature and changes in patterns of PCRs. The location chosen was fishermen in Rokan Hilir Regency, Indonesia. This research uses qualitative and descriptive methods. Data collection was carried out by interviewing 10 patrons, 50 clients, and 10 key informants and conducting focus group discussions. The research results show the pattern of PCRs in terms of social aspects including social assistance and social norms. Meanwhile, from an economic aspect, it takes the form of loans and fixing fish prices. It can be said that the pattern of PCRs is asymmetrical. There are shifts and changes in responsibilities and risks over time. In the past, the responsibility and risk were mostly borne by the patron, but nowadays this is mostly borne by the client. This relationship pattern is worth paying attention to when formulating development policies for fisherman communities and coastal areas.","PeriodicalId":505054,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development","volume":"57 34","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-08-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141929256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
