Though public libraries are called “people’s University” and cater to varied categories of users and their infinite information needs without any discrimination but still in India many such libraries are still not providing effective services to the user community. \u0000In India, out of 28 states, 19 states have already enacted library legislation with the latest entrant being Telangana State (2015) and though Haryana State enacted the Act in the year 1989 but still very few comprehensive studies conducted either by any public library or the users’(RRRLF). Well, the present study attempts to check out the ground reality of the State Central Library along with 2 District Libraries of the State of Haryana in terms of library collection, services, facilities, and user satisfaction. \u0000A descriptive survey research design was employed, and 500 library users across three public libraries were surveyed using a structured questionnaire, out of which 396 responses(n=396) were found eligible for the analysis. The study found an improvement in the use of public libraries in the region but identified some inadequate facilities like lack of enhanced library services along with updated collection, and poor internet/ICT services as major factors affecting user satisfaction. The findings suggest that the Haryana government should increase funding to public libraries to acquire adequate information resources and ICT facilities, thereby increasing the utilization of public libraries and meeting the information needs of the users.","PeriodicalId":504340,"journal":{"name":"VEETHIKA-An International Interdisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"107 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141124608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to the rising amount of home and industrial waste caused by the increasing human population and various business operations in the area. This study seeks to evaluate the susceptibility of groundwater in the metropolis of Ikot Ekpene and its surrounding areas in southern Nigeria. It will utilize integrated geoelectrical and geological approaches within the GIS-based DRASTIC model. A total of twenty vertical electrical soundings (VES) were conducted in the region using the Schlumberger array. Based on the geological drilling data, the interpretation of the VES data suggests that the area consists of 3-4 geoelectric layers. The lithological succession in the area exhibits a range of sediment types, including fine and coarse sand as well as gravelly sands. Additionally, there are localized occurrences of clay intercalations. The third geoelectric layer, located at a depth of 9.0–86.6 m, is the primary aquifer that can be utilized in the region. The DRASTIC model included seven environmental parameters, including depth to the water table, net recharge, aquifer medium, topography, impact of vadose zone, and hydraulic conductivity, with the purpose of conducting a vulnerability assessment. The assessment of groundwater vulnerability ratings (GVR) reveals that 75% of the research region is classified as high vulnerability, 20% as moderate vulnerability, and the remaining 5% as low vulnerability. The studied area is predominantly characterized by moderate to high Groundwater Vulnerability Rating (GVR), which is likely attributed to the generally gentle topography and the presence of highly permeable geomaterials in the upper levels of the water table.","PeriodicalId":504340,"journal":{"name":"VEETHIKA-An International Interdisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"120 43","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141124146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article specifically examines the viability of minimalism in the context of renting wedding attire in India, uncovering a dearth of research in this area. With the concentration of 5-year span (2018–2023) and drawing from the Scopus database, the findings emphasize minimalism's multifaceted impact on consumer behaviour, well-being, and sustainability. The existing literature is not available in the context of renting wedding clothes within the Indian socio-cultural milieu. The study identifies various factors, including socio-economic intricacies, daily effects, and alignment with manufacturing, alongside the innovative \"Minimalonomics\" model, offering insights into conscious consumption and well-being transformation. While factors like utility, user-friendliness, perspective, and societal pressures affect the adoption of wedding attire rental platforms, consumers prioritizing sustainability exhibit positive correlations with slow fashion, perceived value, purchase intent, willingness to pay a premium, and recommending slow-fashion products. Conversely, considerations like hygiene, perception, societal norms, perceived efficacy, environmental awareness, and personal relevance may sway consumers away from clothing rental services.","PeriodicalId":504340,"journal":{"name":"VEETHIKA-An International Interdisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"9 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140266404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The power sector in India offers a compelling context to explore the scope of ESG disclosures. The country heavily relies on coal, oil, and gas for extensive electrification, making it the world's fourth-largest emitter of pollution, releasing 2.65 billion metric tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere annually. In this paper an attempt has been made to review and analyse the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reports of Energy sector companies in India. A distinction has also been made in public and private sector companies. Sustainability Reporting Maturity Model released by ICAI has been used to score the companies for the social and environmental indicators reported by them in the BRSR. It was found that although private sector companies are reporting the environmental indicators better, the public sector is leading in reporting social indicators. However, when it comes to overall performance, public sector companies outperform private sector companies.","PeriodicalId":504340,"journal":{"name":"VEETHIKA-An International Interdisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"22 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140508998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
