If not blocked, it can cause incorrect operation of distance protection and result in incorrect or unwanted disconnection of transmission line switches. Furthermore, if not prevented, it can lead to serious damage to the generator. This paper describes the basics of power system stability during power swings, lists the effects on the distance or other relay during power swing, and presents methods for detecting power swing, both traditional and advanced. Additionally, it provides a description of the settings of the Power Swing Blocking (PSB) scheme to meet these requirements.","PeriodicalId":503539,"journal":{"name":"B&H Electrical Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139235195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on these results, the goal is to localize the source of PD. Three power transformer models of different complexity are used to do that. Due to the effects of their all taken into account reflections and diffractions caused by the metal parts in the power transformer, the received PD waveforms at UHF sensors are distorted to an appropriate extent. Time differences of arrivals (TDOAs) of the signals at pairs of four simulated UHF sensors are investigated to estimate the location of the PD source. The benefits of this assessment of the PD source location using this simulation software are analysed.","PeriodicalId":503539,"journal":{"name":"B&H Electrical Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139236219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Network Code [1] and the Connection Regulation [2]-[4] define the procedure for issuing connection conditions to the power transmission network in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This paper will demonstrate the necessary approach to assessing the possibilities of connection and placement of the produced power and energy at a specific connection point in the early stages of planning, using the example of an 80 MW photovoltaic power plant planned for construction in the municipality of Tomislavgrad. The connection of the power plant is planned on a 110 kV voltage level network, by connecting it to the target 110 kV overhead transmission lines, following the principle of input-output.","PeriodicalId":503539,"journal":{"name":"B&H Electrical Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139265019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
