As Cidades Sustentáveis surgem como uma das soluções possíveis para organizar e direcionar a sociedade, evitando o colapso iminente. No entanto, a compreensão dos processos envolvidos na colaboração para tais intervenções urbanas ainda é escassa. Por isso, este artigo propõe um percurso teórico-metodológico que emprega estratégias de design para fomentar a participação dos cidadãos na criação de intervenções urbanas sustentáveis. Isto visa assegurar a inclusão e atenção às necessidades e expectativas da população. O Design Estratégico serve como base teórica e metodológica, integrando as táticas de rastreamento, projeção e portfólio anotado, que poderão se formalizar em uma plataforma digital habilitante.","PeriodicalId":502246,"journal":{"name":"ANAIS SDS 2023","volume":"7 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139185883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the alkaline nature of the byproduct, its addition to mortars demonstrated to provide adequate strength and reduced environmental impact. The gradual introduction of the byproduct resulted in a slight reduction in compressive strength but remained within acceptable standards. Chemical analyses revealed significant increases in iron oxide, sodium, and alumina content in the samples, imparting distinctive characteristics to the mortars. Environmentally, the samples were classified as non-inert class II-A, indicating a lower ecological footprint. Artifacts produced from A2 and A3 samples exhibited good compressive strength and a reddish finish due to the presence of iron oxide. This study offers a sustainable and innovative perspective on the reuse of industrial waste, with potential benefits for both the industry and the environment.","PeriodicalId":502246,"journal":{"name":"ANAIS SDS 2023","volume":"46 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139185891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a cultural heritage, understanding vernacular architecture also helps us search for more sustainable construction alternatives. To this end, this article search to characterize Angolan vernacular architecture by carrying out a theoretical literature review and a case study in the province of Huíla (Mupalala), Angola, for the cubatas from Nyaneka-Humbi ethnic group. For the case study, it was necessary to interview local residents in order to understand the cultural aspects of construction, building techniques and materials used. In the end, it was possible to characterize this type of construction and understand possible contributions to proposing more sustainable construction.","PeriodicalId":502246,"journal":{"name":"ANAIS SDS 2023","volume":"62 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They emerged as an innovative material, due to their low cost and versatility, however, currently, polymers are among the major environmental concerns, and efforts are being made to minimize their impact on nature. Among the existing approaches, circular economy stands out, aiming to reintegrate materials into the production process. In this context, the role of the designer is pivotal. Thus, this article aims to report experiments conducted on the recycling of post-consumer thermoplastic polymers, with the goal of better understanding the possibilities of application in designing new artifacts","PeriodicalId":502246,"journal":{"name":"ANAIS SDS 2023","volume":"73 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A pesquisa qualitativa explora como o design social desafia a lógica predominante, priorizando não apenas o lucro comercial, mas também impactos sociais e ambientais positivos. Por meio de revisão literária, análise de dados e exemplos práticos, o estudo demonstra como o design social pode desobedecer à concepção de mobiliário como vinculadas a tendências passageiras, muitas vezes levando ao descarte e à geração de resíduos desnecessários. Assim, apresenta o projeto Totomoxtle do designer mexicano Fernando Laposse como exemplo de design social que desafia tais lógicas e emerge como um veículo de transformação e resistência, propondo alternativas que valorizam a inclusão social, a preservação ambiental e a melhoria da qualidade de vida das comunidades vulneráveis.","PeriodicalId":502246,"journal":{"name":"ANAIS SDS 2023","volume":"64 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many of these difficulties are due to the profound implication of this field in the paradigms and social and economic systems that determined and continue to determine the modes of existence of (post)modernity. The purpose of this essay is to present the origins of design and its socioeconomic context, and put it up for discussion under the lens of alternative paradigms, and other ways of acting in the face of the unsustainability of current development models. It seeks to provide contextualization regarding the emergence of industrial design in Europe under an ideology inspired by modernity and liberal and capitalist economy, and a critical position, which seeks in ecology the bases for a reform or reinvention of the notion of design and its role in society","PeriodicalId":502246,"journal":{"name":"ANAIS SDS 2023","volume":"55 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139186156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
