It was developed in the laboratory of Sunflower variety breeding of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops in 2015–2021 as a result of multiple individual selection from the best families of a variety-population SUR by productivity, morphotype, tolerance to broomrape races (A–F), high field resistance to dry rot, and toler-ance to phomopsis. The new variety is differed from the standard variety VNIIMK 100 with its increased productivity (seed yield – by 14%, oil yield – by 16%) and improved morphometric traits. The period from seedling appearance to physiological maturity of 81 days is equal to the same of the standard variety. The plant height of the new variety is 145–155 cm. The weight of 1000 seeds is within 55 g at the plant popu-lation of 40 thousand seeds per ha. The sunflower variety Kremen from 2021 is under the state variety trial in the Central Chernozrn (5), Northern Caucasus (6), Middle Volga (7), Low Volga (8), Ural (9), and Western Siberian (10) regions.","PeriodicalId":497337,"journal":{"name":"Masličnye kulʹtury","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136345103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Zabava variety belongs to a very early group of maturity, at the latitude of Krasnodar (45°) it matures in 94 days, and in yield is not inferior to the Puma standard variety. At the latitude of Samara (53°), it matures in 95 days, and the yield significantly exceeds the Samer 3 standard variety. In 2022, in a competitive variety test in the Krasnodar region, its yield was 2.51 t/ha; in a competitive test in the Samara region, it was 3.33 t/ha. The height of the plants of the Zabava variety at the latitude of Krasnodar averaged 74 cm. In the Samara region, at latitude 53°, the height of plants of the Zabava variety increased slightly to 87 cm. High resistance to low air and soil temperatures in the germination phase, and increased yield in long-day conditions characterizes the new soybean variety Zabava. This allows it to be cultivated in soybean-producing farms in the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Low Volga, Ural, Western Siberian and Eastern Siberian regions of the Russian Federation.","PeriodicalId":497337,"journal":{"name":"Masličnye kulʹtury","volume":"202 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136345319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The race G is the most spread and virulence broomrape race in the Russian Federation. Cultivation of genetically resistance sunflower varieties and hybrids is the most ecologic and economically efficient method to control this parasite plant. Usage of DNA-markers when selecting the resistant plants increases significantly the effectiveness of a breeding process. To mark the sunflower resistance to broomrape race G, using bioinformative approaches, we developed new DNA-markers: four SCAR (sequence characterized amplified region) and ten SSR (simple sequence repeat). These markers were tested on 20 lines and hybrids of sunflower. Due to the results of this testing, all SSR- and two SCAR-markers were eliminated by steps. SCAR-marker RORS1 was characterized with the presence of an amplified DNA fragment with a length ≈ 168 bps and showed association with a trait of resistance, and SORS1 with a fragment length ≈ 322 bps had a relation with a sus-ceptible phenotype. These markers composed a marker system for a multiplex PCR, which allowed distinguishing resistant and susceptible lines and hybrids, except a line VK678 and F1 hybrids developed using this line as parental one. To eliminate faults of the marker system, seven SCAR-markers analogous to SORS1 were created. Due to estimation result, we selected a marker SORS9 characterized with the presence an amplified DNA fragment with a length ≈ 217 bps in susceptible phenotypes. The new system of markers RORS1/SORS9 for a multiplex PCR was validated on 70 sunflower lines and hybrids. The susceptible lines and hybrids were characterized with amplification of only marker SORS9, resistant lines – only marker RORS1, and resistant hybrids – both markers. The developed marker system allowed distinguishing all susceptible lines and hybrids from the resistant sunflower genotypes.","PeriodicalId":497337,"journal":{"name":"Masličnye kulʹtury","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136345323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Special attention is paid to the nutritional value of the discussed agricultural crop. Oil flax seeds are famous for their polyfunctionality, which is explained by the rich diversity of nutrients. The average component composition of the seed is 20% proteins, 41% fats, 27% fiber, 3% vitamins, minerals, phenolic compounds, etc. The amino acid profile of flax protein is characterized by balance and is identical in composition to soybean one – the accepted \"ideal\" in the circle of plant crops. Flaxseed oil is known for its high content of essential ω-3 and ω-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, with the predominant amount of the former. The use of flax seed oil can be recommended for the prevention of a wide range of diseases, includ-ing cardiovascular. The biological significance of dietary fibers of oil flax seeds, their soluble (mucus) and insoluble (cellulose, lignins) fractions is shown. The data on the diversity of the vitamin and mineral complex of oil flax seeds are presented, the functions of the corresponding nutritional components are described. The conducted analytical review indicates the prospects for further development of the oil flax industry in order to obtain oil seeds – products with high nutritional value.","PeriodicalId":497337,"journal":{"name":"Masličnye kulʹtury","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136345108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The varieties developed last years (Karavan, Konditer, SPK Plus) are able to form high yields of seeds in the heavy agroclimatic conditions. At the same time, spreading of the new more virulent races of broomrape causes the significant decrease in yield of confectionary varieties. One of the effective methods of broomrape control is chemical one. The experiment was conducted on isolated plot in field after introducing the seeds of the virulent broomrape races in soil. Treatment with herbicides in recommended doses was conducted using backpack sprayer. The level of broomrape control with imidazolinons is significant and equitable to action of a gen of broomrape resistance Or7 by both percentage and a level of infection. For three years (2020–2022), in the conditions of the Krasnodar region in the fields of the North Caucasian branch of VILAR there were studied the ways of hormonal regulation of the formation of seed productivity of essential oil crops – two varieties of Matricaria chamomilla and Salvia officinalis. The results of the conducted research showed that the treatment of plants in the budding phase with growth regulators Zircon (0.04 l/ha) and Gibbersib (0.03 kg/ha) led to a more friend-ly flowering of plants and, accordingly, to an increase in the yield of Matricaria seeds by 15–28 % and Sal-via by 20–28 %. At the same time, their quality im-proves – the weight of 1000 seeds increase by 6–14 %. The use of these growth regulators contributes to increasing the resistance of the studied medicinal crops to dry weather conditions and ensures a reduction in seed yield losses up to 12–26 %, while in the control it was till 22–33 %. With the complex application of Lignohumat (0.05 l/ha) in the initial growth phases of the abovementioned crops and growth regulators (Zircon and Gibbersib) in the budding phase, an increase in seed yield is observed, both in comparison with the control and with some regulators. The years of research were characterized as acutely arid. For the conditions of the sharply continental climate of Northern Kazakhstan, the main limiting factor for soybean is precocity. As a result of the research, a promising soybean breeding material with a set of specified characteristics was identified in order to use them in the further breeding process: 104 cultivars with a short growing season; 38 – with the largest number of beans. The highest positive correlation was established between the yield and the number of beans per plant (r = 0.58), the height of attachment of the lower bean (r = 0.40), the number of productive nodes (r = 0.58), the number of seeds in the bean (r = 0.55), the weight of 1000 seeds (r = 0.56) and the weight of seeds per a bean (r = 0.45). A number of soybean cultivars with a relatively high yield, seed quality and precocity have been identified. The yield of the studied soybean cultivars varied from 3.6 to 11.2 quintal/ha (standard – 9.0 quintal/ha). On average, for two years, the highest yield (from 9.1 to 10.1 quintal/ha) was formed by Chinese cultivars: LongKen 310, Beidou 43, Heihe 43, Huajiong 2.
