This study aims to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum killing concentration (MBC) of binahong root extract against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Binahong root extract was obtained from maceration using absolute ethanol solvent. Furthermore, the extract obtained was made with a concentration dilution of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. The method used is disc diffusion. The results showed that each concentration of binahong root extract had an inhibitory effect on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This is influenced by the active compounds contained in the binahong root extract such as flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and alkaloids. Binahong root extract concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% were found to have zones of inhibition against the growth of S. aureus bacteria and the minimum inhibitory level (MIC) of Binahong root extract against the growth of S. aureus bacteria at a concentration of 5%.","PeriodicalId":496791,"journal":{"name":"Rumphius Pattimura Biological Journal","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136100567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to determine the ethanol extract of the crown of the gods in reducing uric acid levels in mice. This study used an experimental method with the research subject being male mice (mus musculus) and the object of research was the decrease in uric acid levels in mice when given treatment. The independent variable was the ethanol extract of the crown of the god flesh and the dependent variable was uric acid levels in male mice (Mus musculus). Data on the percentage decrease in uric acid levels was tested using one-way ANOVA (5% confidence level) followed by the Bonferroni test. The results showed that the dosage of ethanol extract of Mahkota Dewa fruit was 1.25; 2,5 and 5g/kgbw were able to reduce uric acid levels in the blood serum of male mice induced by potassium oxonate. of the five treatment groups, the average uric acid level with the negative control was 0.48 ± 0.04 mg/dl. Positive control was 0.62 ± 0.08 mg/dl. The ethanol extract dose of 1.25g/kgBB was 1.68 ± 0.13. This study aims to improve students metacognitive skills and critical thinking skills. The material taught in this study is the system of living organizations (cells). This research was conducted in February 2021 in Buru District, Maluku Province. This research was conducted in three schools namely SMP Negeri 5 Buru, SMP Negeri 9 Buru and SMP Negeri 16 Buru, by using a quasi-experimental design type. The populations of this study were VII.a and VII.b at SMP Negeri 5 Buru, SMP Negeri 9 Buru and SMP Negeri 16 Buru, each with a total of 66 students. Data analysis used the Non-Parametric test with the Chi-Square test. The results of this study indicate that, in the metacognitive study there was no effect on SMP Negeri 5 Buru experimental and control classes and experimental class SMP Negeri 9 Buru with a sig > 0.05, while in the control class SMP Negeri 9 Buru and experimental and control classes at SMP Negeri 16 Buru the sig <0.05 it can be concluded that it has an effect. On critical thinking skills at SMP Negeri 5 Buru, SMP Negeri 9 Buru and at SMP Negeri 16 Buru in the experimental and control class the value is sig <0.05. Based on these data, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the guided inquiry learning model integrated with Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge on students' critical thinking skills.
