The welding industry can be categorized into the welding equipment/consumables industry and welding process industry, which is part of the manufacturing process in the welding application industry. The welding process industry statistics are difficult to extract from the welding application industry statistics; therefore, they were calculated using the ratio of the welding-related expenditure to the total application industry expenditure. The welding industry's revenue, exports, and imports have recently recovered after hitting a low point during the COVID-19 pandemic.
