Bariatric Surgical Practice and Patient Care continues to see a healthy number of submissions and we strive to publish impactful articles that help define clinical best practices and quality updates for achieving optimal bariatric surgical outcomes. The goal for the journal in 2023 is to have content that is highly cited from around the world. I also want to thank the hundreds of ad hoc reviewers who continuously evaluate the numerous submissions we receive. As editor in chief, I will optimize the turnover time from submission to publication by recruiting more qualified reviewers and utilizing our editorial board strategically. This quarter's issue once again includes articles from around the world. I would like to thank our consistently contributing countries, which include France, Turkey, Italy, Iran, and the United States. I wish to draw attention to an article from our 2022 Rosalind Franklin Society Award recipient, Dr. Nova Szoka of the United States, titled “Preoperative Weight Loss as a Predictor of Short and Mid-Term Postoperative Weight Loss in Patients s Bariatric Surgery.” In this study, Dr. Szoka and her colleagues looked at a weight loss before surgery and showed no significant association between preoperative weight loss and 3-year postoperative weight loss.I look forward to a productive 2023 and hope you consider publishing your next study in Bariatric Surgical Practice and Patient Care. The journal is always open to innovative ways of improving the reader's experience. Please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions that could improve our journal.Sincerely,Dean J.
