When multiple users are involved, it can be hard to find a route that suits everyone's preferences and avoid conflicting interests. A decision support system can improve the quality of user decisions. Traditional systems typically consider only the predefined preferences of one user or a group with similar preferences. This study aims to develop a decision support system for a group of people with diverse preferences, using a method that considers their experiences regarding time and space. The method utilizes IoT, agent-based modeling, multi-objective optimization, and crowdsourced data to create a personalized navigation system for a group, such as a family car, that considers each group member's preferences. The study uses simulation to demonstrate how this method can be applied, and it is created using Grasshopper for Rhino and add-ons. The main original contribution of this research is to show how social aspects can be incorporated into personalized navigation systems for a heterogeneous group. The reliability redundancy allocation problem is a well-known reliability design tool that needs to be developed when the system is extended from a series-parallel structure to a more general network structure. Therefore, this study proposes a novel reliability redundancy allocation problem, referred to as the general reliability redundancy allocation problem, to be applied in network systems. Because the general reliability redundancy allocation problem is NP-hard, a new algorithm referred to as binary-addition simplified swarm optimization is proposed in this study. Binary-addition simplified swarm optimization combines the accuracy of the Binary Addition Tree Algorithm with the efficiency of Simplified Swarm Optimization, which can effectively reduce the solution space and speed up the time required to find high-quality solutions. The lower and upper disks are considered to rotate with different angular velocities. The three-dimensional axisymmetric flow phenomenon and heat transfer mechanism are observed with the consequences of the magnetic field and variable thermal conductivity of the fluid. The variable thermal conductivity is taken to be dependent on the fluid temperature. The implementation of the von Karman similarity transformations on the constituting equations of the flow phenomenon yields the dimensionless system of the nonlinear equations. An optimal homotopy analysis technique is adopted to obtain analytical solutions for highly nonlinear equations. In view of the same and opposite directions of disks rotation, the various aspects of the flow system corresponding to the pertinent parameters are discussed with physical significance. The obtained results indicate that both radial and axial fields are the escalating functions of the Eyring-Powell fluid parameter. It is a typical nonconvex and nonlinear optimization problem with many local extrema when considering the valve-point effects, especially for large-scale systems. Considering that differential evolution (DE) is efficient in locating global optimal region, while gain-sharing knowledge-based algorithm (GSK) is effective in refining local solutions, this study presents a new hybrid method, namely GSK-DE, to integrate the advantages of both algorithms for solving large-scale ED problems. We design a dual-population evolution framework in which the population is randomly divided into two equal subpopulations in each iteration. One subpopulation performs GSK, while the other executes DE. Then, the updated individuals of these two subpopulations are combined to generate a new population. In such a manner, the exploration and the exploitation are harmonized well to improve the searching efficiency. The proposed GSK-DE is applied to six ED cases, including 15, 38, 40, 110, 120, and 330 units. Simulation results demonstrate that GSK-DE gives full play to the superiorities of GSK and DE effectively. It possesses a quicker global convergence rate to obtain higher quality dispatch schemes with greater robustness. Through experiments, the compressive strength, stiffness, energy absorption, and failure process of HCKHS specimens of seven different sizes were determined and compared. Mechanical analytical models were established, and the variation trend in the specific strength was predicted and compared with those of other advanced sandwich structures. The size effect of the HCKHS specimens was analyzed. The influence of a single variable on the core modulus, failure strength, and failure modes was discussed, and failure mechanism maps were drawn. The structure was optimized based on the maximum specific strength and engineering application, and the optimal size design ratio was obtained. The results showed that the HCKHS specimens exhibited excellent compressive properties with a convenient manufacturing process, making them suitable for lightweight applications in engineering. The general idea behind such a formulation is to embed the tangency constraint into the tool surface expression and form a single continuous function to describe the segmental curves whose elements lie on the envelopes. This results in skipping unnecessary calculations when no envelope-surface point is associated with the specified input data, reducing the sizeable computational burden due to repetitive constraint implementations, and most importantly, depending on the tool kinematics’ complexity, avoiding the tangency-constraint violations between successive envelope-surface points where the exact fit cannot be obtained. In this study, firstly, the NC tool surface models present in extant literature have been restructured using the four-parameter set of spheres to attain the required one-to-one correspondence between the domain and range sets of these functions, followed by excluding the tangency-constraint evaluations by introducing the systematic parameter-reduction procedures that led to the development of constraint-embedded envelope functions. Next, we introduced the branch-existence test, which allowed us to check whether these functions are continuous over closed domain intervals. Tasarım sürecinin görsel temsiller üzerinden ilerlemesi ve bu temsillerin mekânın gerçekleştirilmesinde kullanılması görselliğe verilen önemi artırmaktadır. Ancak mimari tasarım sadece görsellik ile sınırlı kalmamalıdır. Çizimlerin yanı sıra yazılı ve sözlü anlatı da görev almaktadır. Mekânsal algı, görsel temsil ve anlatıyla şekillenir. Mekânın görsel temsilleri ben-merkezli veya dış-merkezli olabileceği gibi, görme biçimlerinin zenginliği sayesinde mekân daha farklı temsil edilebilir. Bu yönüyle görsel temsil, mekânı anlamak ve açıklamak için bir araç haline gelmektedir. Ancak mekânı tanımlarken ya da anlamaya çalışırken sadece görmek yeterli olmayabilir. Dil ile iletişim kurmaya alışkın olan insan doğal olarak sözel anlatıma başvurur. Görme, çevremizdeki dünyayla iletişim kurdukça gelişmişken dil, insanların birbirleriyle iletişim kurmak için geliştirdikleri sosyal bir sistemdir. Mekân algısı üzerine yapılan araştırmalar çoğunlukla görsel düşünme açısından ele alınmıştır. Ancak görme ve dil, mekâna ilişkin farklı bilgilere ulaşmayı sağlar. Görme ve dil yoluyla toplanan bilgilerdeki çeşitlilik, mimari mekânın zihinsel imgesini tamamlayabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, mekânsal algının oluşumunu görsel ve sözel temsiller aracılığıyla incelemektir. Çalışma, mekân algısının sadece görme duyusuna dayandırılmasının kısıtlayıcı olduğu ve algının hem görsel temsilden hem de sözel anlatımdan etkilendiği görüşüne dayanmaktadır. Çalışmada öne sürülen, görsel ve sözel temsillerin birbirini desteklediği ve böylece mekânsal algıyı güçlendirdiğidir. Bu çalışmada anlatının görsel temsili nasıl etkilediğini ve görsel temsil ile anlatı arasındaki bu etkileşimin uzamsal algıyı nasıl şekillendirdiğini ortaya çıkarmak için protokol analizleri yapılmıştır. Projenin amacı, bilinçli farkındalık yöntemlerinin pratiğiyle tasarım ve görselleştirmede yaratıcılık becerilerini artırmaktır. Dönem boyunca, öğrencinin hem geleneksel hem de dijital görselleştirme araçlarını birbiriyle harmanlayarak kullandığı ve kişisel temsil yöntemlerini keşfederek, yaratıcılığın üst sınırlarına ulaşmasına olanak tanıyan deneysel bir öğrenme prosedürü izlenmiştir. Stüdyo metodolojisi, öğrencilerin tasarım kabiliyetini, modelleme ve görselleştirme yazılımının kullanımını ve bu eksende bilişsel, beceriye dayalı ve duygusal sonuçlar geliştirmeye dayanmaktadır. Proje, öğrencilerin güvenli alan imgeleme egzersizi sonucunda oluşturdukları ütopik ve özel bir yerin yaratılmasını ve ileri anlatım teknikleriyle görselleştirilmesini hedeflemiştir. Bilinçli farkındalık egzersizleri katılımcılar tarafından ders içerisinde ve haftalık ders aralarında gönüllü olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırmacıların gözlemlerine göre farkındalık ve dikkat düzeyleri ile yaratıcılık ölçümlerinin her hafta arttığı dönem sonunda yapılan bireysel değerlendirme envanterleri ile de doğrulanmıştır. Projenin sonunda öğrenciler, uygulamanın sonuçlarını ve kişisel gelişimlerini sınıf içinde gönüllü olarak paylaşmış ve yorumlamışlardır. With the advent of the global era, Universal Design is garnering considerable interest, as the number of multicultural families is increasing, and various user classes are being created. In addition, with the advances in construction technology, architectural design is becoming more diverse, and convenience facilities are also getting distributed in various ways. As a result, more buildings need to apply Universal Design, indicating that various architectural information and Universal Design for the user class are required. Various data are needed for Universal Design evaluation, but there is a limit to evaluating with two-dimensional (2D) drawings. However, the limitations of 2D drawings can be overcome via building information modeling (BIM) combined with architectural data, which remarkably simplifies the Universal Design evaluation. This study was conducted with the aim to analyze architectural information by extracting architectural elements necessary for Universal Design evaluation from BIM data. It was confirmed that the calculations for Universal Design evaluation can be performed by 3D shape or attribute analysis using BIM data and computer programming. In order to create an automated evaluation algorithm for Universal Design, the evaluation methods were classified according to the Universal Design evaluation guide, based on building users and user diversity. In addition, even if the evaluation methods were the same by location, different points were classified by location, and evaluation items and information necessary for the evaluation were organized by category for each facility. Through this classification, we created an algorithm with seven types of methods for extracting the BIM data and comparing them by evaluation method for an automated analysis. In addition, an analysis was performed directly on the BIM design sample model using an automated evaluation algorithm. Although there were various architectural objects in the design data, evaluation was possible using algorithms. By applying the Universal Design evaluation and BIM data evaluation methods, we could confirm that the BIM-based Universal Design automation evaluation method prevents human error and is thus superior to the existing evaluation methods.
