Measuring the quality of life and identifying the factors of quality of life is becoming important in order to develop adequate policies to ensure successful ageing. The aim of this research is to compare the Quality of life in the ageing people (65+) in the EU countries and to examine how the economic disparities affect the quality of life in different countries. The data used in the study are from the eighth wave of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). Several socio-demographic characteristics, self-reported household economic status, as well as the CASP-12 index (measure of Quality of Live) were explored. On a country level, there is a strong relationship between the household economic status and the CASP index, but the four domains of the CASP index are affected in different degrees. For selected countries the analysis is conducted on an individual level and the influence of the self-reported household economic status as a predictor of the CASP-12 is estimated, controlled for gender, years of education, health status, marital status and age.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"2016 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135425868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One such threat is the evolving COVID-19 epidemic. An essential part of the countermeasures, especially in the early stages, is the warning not to enter areas with an increased risk of infection, or in the case of partially quarantined persons - a warning not to leave the perimeter approved for movement. Modern mobile devices, smartphones, are a natural tool for personal alerting a person when entering a territorial area with undesirable consequences. Traditional methods for localization are considered, as well as a method for determining the coordinates of a mobile object using network stations of mobile operators. The mathematical bases are presented and an analysis is performed to evaluate the effect of the spatial analysis.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135425874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Visibility of administrative procedures flow helps the citizen to better understand how an administrative process begins, how it develops, who is involved, how long it lasts and when it ends. In order to achieve the intended result of this study, public institutions at the local level, respectively municipality and the center for social issues, are observed. The current state of visibility of the procedures has been identified, defects are listed, measured, the causes of the defects are learned, the action plan has been proposed and the change of the situation has been verified. The methodology applied in this study is based on the LSS - DMADV technique (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, and Verify). Thanks to DMADV methodology, a practical solution has been proposed that improves the visibility of procedures in the municipal administration. The public sector should consider investing in the application of LSS methods in order to increase creativity among employees for the quality flow of information by making them clear, cheep, simple and fast for citizens.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135426017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors used methods of neural networks in order to evaluate the sustainable development process. To date, a large number of mathematical forecasting methods are known, and experts in the world economy use appropriate risk assessment criteria, but the neural network is used when the exact type of connections between inputs and outputs is unknown, which allows us to create a more accurate and flexible forecast model. The modeling takes into account the main weights that determine the degree and the priority of the impact on each component of the economic system and characterizes the complex macroeconomic relationships to determine the aggregate indices. The developed model is used when assessing the level of economic security of the national economy. Especially, such an important component as environmental security is evaluated with the help of this model","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135424918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With constructive efforts, there will be feedback that leads to the maintenance of the company’s image. This study seeks to examine the effect of person-job fit and organizational commitment on OCB and performance. Design/Methodology/Approach: The object of the research is PLN in the Mahakam sector of East Kalimantan because it considers that the performance of employees so far has not been optimal. Our focused on 65 employees, and the distribution of the sample was based on simple random sampling. The path analysis method simplifies data processing. Informants who were selected and invited to be interviewed were permanent employees on technical duty at the production site, and all of them were male. Results: Referring to observations, we find that person-job fit and organizational commitment have a significant positive effect on OCB. Then, on performance, person-job fit, organizational commitment, and OCB have a significant positive effect. Conclusion: The novelty lies in the development of dimensions or indicators, expanding knowledge relevant to this research topic. Because it limited the interviews in nature, not all respondents reacted optimally to the number of questions asked. Implications: Academic, managerial, and theoretical contributions consider broad scenarios for further study of investigations or comparisons related to efforts to improve employee performance.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135426171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main question is: Is entrepreneurship a safety net for the economies? Looking at the latest entrepreneurial theories, the role of the entrepreneurial business and entrepreneurs rapidly increased in recent days, given the development of start-ups, academic spin-offs, etc. Based on the emerging trends of co-creation and co-working, entrepreneurial business is getting a boost nowadays. Universities as an innovative center also contribute to this emerging trend. The paper aims to find another perspective for the entrepreneurial development: regional growth and development. Some theoretical background of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial growth has been provided in the first section of the article, the methodological approach to regional growth through entrepreneurial development, in particular the Bulgarian case, in the second, and the practical implications of the given methodology – in the third section. The expected effects are given in the fourth section, and conclusions are made in the last one.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135426015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this respect an attempt is made to answer the question: ‘Which are the reasons for insufficient investments in forestry in Bulgaria?’. The response to that question is searched by means O. Williamson’s four level institutional analysis. Based on a questionnaire survey among specialists working in forestry and hypotheses testing through ?2-analysis it is established that among the main reasons for insufficient investment in Bulgarian forestry are some market failures as rent seeking and opportunism. Furthermore by means of Cramer’s coefficients it is established that the link between investments and both market failures is strong in terms of strength. According to 80.3% of the inquired specialists, the limitation of market failures in forestry is possible through increasing the share of stewardships activities carried out by territorial departments of state enterprises with their own forestry equipment and workers.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135426014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a Structural vector autoregression (SVAR) technique, we specifically examine the effect of external and domestic shocks on the current account balance considering the case of the MENA region during the period 1970 to 2019. Our results indicate that the oil shock leads to a deterioration of the current account and a depreciation of the terms of trade while its impact in terms of growth is significant but more attenuated. For oil-importing countries, the magnitude of current account responses to shocks is much smaller on average than for oil-exporting countries. Our findings have important policy implications, especially in light of discussions in recent years about whether current account surplus countries impede growth abroad. Thus, the most important policy implication of this paper is that different channels would be used by economic policymakers to control the current account deficit.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135426157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All this insecurity has led to a temptation among people to flee their countries of origin in search of better living conditions, which in turn has caused unprecedented migration flows worldwide. What is more, the worsening situation in some regions in Africa and Asia, along with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, are a guarantee of even higher levels of migration. This article makes a comparison between some social, economic, and legal aspects of the asylum-seeker situation in Bulgaria and Italy, such as the most common nationality, number, gender, and age structure of asylum-seekers between 2012 and 2021, accommodation capacity, legislative framework, resource sources and provision, institutions responsible. The aim of this paper is to identify some of the existing gaps and to formulate and share recommendations. The main method used in this paper is comparative analysis. Documentary analysis, statistical data analysis, and retrospection were also used as auxiliary methods.","PeriodicalId":485674,"journal":{"name":"Economic Alternatives","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135425870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
