Through investigating the OA policies of a total of 30 universities in China, the United States and the United Kingdom, the author analyzes the policy contents from aspects such as the purpose of OA, deposit policy, usage policy, copyright policy and fund sponsor policy, and draws enlightenment in the formulation of OA policies. Chinese universities should gradually promote the implementation of mandatory OA policies according to their own characteristics; formulate a scientific and comprehensive policy system by providing detailed policy interpretations and term explanations; formulate personalized OA policies according to the disciplinary characteristics of universities and the characteristics of the knowledge base; and add the OA policy content of the fund project sponsors related to the university in the policy to facilitate the reasonable use by the authors.","PeriodicalId":485632,"journal":{"name":"Communication, society and media","volume":"9 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141801770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Leaders Talk, a hallmark of Chinese mainstream “Headline Project”, exemplifies this innovation and embodies the development strategy to “Fill every screen with quality programs”. This program leverages multimodal discourse to enhance visual construction, fostering a unique story dissemination field that aligns with mainstream aesthetics, thereby creating an equitable and approachable media image with significant international influence. Through the lens of multimodal discourse analysis, and by integrating systemic functional linguistics with a multimodal interaction framework, we can dissect the visual construction methods employed in Leaders Talk. This analysis not only elucidates the new communication pathways for mainstream media columns in the context of media integration and multimodality, but also offers novel solutions to elevate the positive value aesthetics of mainstream media. Furthermore, it provides a fresh perspective on enhancing positive value aesthetics and fortifies the theoretical underpinnings of multimodal discourse analysis within visual culture.","PeriodicalId":485632,"journal":{"name":"Communication, society and media","volume":" 1181","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141823463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The story of “Fengshen” is also considered a rich source of inspiration for entertainment and cultural industries in China, influencing a wide range of audiences with diverse backgrounds. As developing the potential “story universe” of Fengshen has become a hot topic in the Chinese film market, reinterpreting Chinese mythology needs to be focused on. Based on the case of the “Fengshen story”, this study aims to explore the new context of Chinese mythology by collecting and analyzing secondary research, categorizing and organizing the findings, and discussing further research from different perspectives, thereby understanding the modern adaptations of traditional Chinese mythology and suggesting a bright future of conducting interdisciplinary research on Chinese mythology in the new context.","PeriodicalId":485632,"journal":{"name":"Communication, society and media","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141650560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tongji Games Corpus are adopted for this study, in which two interlocutors play unequal roles in Picture Ordering Games (information giver and information follower), and equal roles in Picture Classifying Games. Based on this corpus, two tests are conducted in this study, the Role Influence Test and Role Direction Test. In the analysis of Role Influence Test, it is found that the entrainment degree in Picture Ordering Games is significantly bigger than that in the Picture Classifying Games. In the analysis of Role Direction Test, it is found that information givers entrain more to followers in conversation. These findings provide evidences that conversation roles, as one type of the social factors, have influence on the degree and direction of prosodic entrainment in Mandarin interactions.","PeriodicalId":485632,"journal":{"name":"Communication, society and media","volume":" 599","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138610800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
