Moreover, the reasons for the frequent use of Anglicisms are explained here, and the most frequently used examples of borrowings in aforementioned topics are highlighted. In particular, the article presents the presuppositions for the analysis of high-quality advertising text. On the example of borrowed lexical units, the most common ways of translating borrowed vocabulary are determined, and an analysis of the ways of translating borrowed vocabulary of a foreign language into Russian is given. As a result of the study, the reasons for the emergence and spread of borrowed vocabulary were determined. The key roles of the globalization process and the influence of this process on the course of replenishment of the Russian-language lexicon are formulated. The article paid attention to the issue of the influence of English-language borrowings on the original Russian language and an attempt to combine the positive and negative opinions of linguists and philologists on this issue into one conclusion. The article provides a sufficient number of modern examples of the use of borrowings in selected areas, most of the studied vocabulary was extracted from advertising passages of cosmetic products or medical services.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"463 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135799096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This stage of the work is a part of the state assignment of the Scientific Laboratory of Linguistic and Pedagogical Research on \"Linguosemiotic heterogeneity of scientific picture of the world: theoretical and linguodidactic description\". The aim of the research is to extract terms from a prepared corpus of scientific texts relating to a particular subject area. For this purpose, a corpus of scientific texts in the field of Earth Sciences, prepared by random sampling using the Semantic Scholar application, was used. The term extraction by automatic text processing (ATP) is a promising area of research as it simplifies the process of creating terminology systems or ontologies for highly specialized subject areas. With the rapidly changing flow of information, this type of work with texts is undoubtedly still relevant and allows for faster and more efficient processing of large volumes of material. However, it should be noted that automatic term extraction is not always accurate and may contain some errors. Therefore, it is important to carry out additional verification and correction of the results obtained. Prospects for the study are related to the improvement of existing automatic text processing tools. In addition, the analysis of the extracted terms has enabled us to form the basis for further practical research into the creation of a digital product (a digital model of certain terminology systems) for the storage, systematization and use of terminology systems for a certain highly specialized subject area.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After all, a work of art is not only a text that tells about past events or a description of personalities and phenomena, it is, first of all, a train of thought, life lessons, the beauty of language turns and the possibility of conveying emotions and experiences with the help of words. From this point of view, the translation of works of fiction from the original language into a foreign language is of interest. The task of the translator is not only the translation of vocabulary, but also the transfer of the meanings of set expressions, jokes, moments that describe the characteristics of the people, reflecting cultural and historical values. This article examines examples from the novel «Happiness» (in Turkish: Zulfü Livaneli “Mutluluk”) by the contemporary Turkish writer Zulfü Livaneli and compares the linguistic and cultural aspects of the translation of a literary text using the example of languages with different structures. Studying linguocultural concepts in their diversity, we approach the representation of the national picture of the world about the value system and behavior patterns of native speakers.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to modern research, the film text includes two semiotic systems, namely, linguistic and non-linguistic. The linguistic system is identified with the concept of the “film dialogue”, which is also called a verbal component of the film text. The structure of the film dialogue in this article is analyzed from the point of diegesis, according to which in the film dialogue there are oral-verbal and written-verbal components. They in their turn are divided into diegetic, those which belong to the inner world of the screen work, and non-diegetic elements, which are external and brought about. On the example of the English-language American film Locked Down, the authors analyze the structure of the film dialogue and the combination of its various elements. The diegetic oral-verbal elements of this film text are represented by the dialogical and monologue speech of the characters, the reading of poetry and the song performed by the main character. The non-diegetic elements of the oral-verbal component include off-screen monologues and comments, songs, the text of which would be heard only by the viewer, but such elements were not found in this film. The film text contains written-verbal diegetic components, namely advertisements on shops and cars, brand names, notes at the workplace, subtitles on television. The non-diegetic component of this film dialogue is found in the end credits. The film dialogue of this feature film is mostly presented by a conversational style, but as the plot develops we come across the elements of journalistic and official styles.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Extensive use is defined as the use of the kinship term towards a non-relative person. The aim of the research is to conduct a comparative study of the extensive use of the Chinese and English kinship terms from the point of view of the theory of semantics, pragmatics and relationship between language and culture, using the methodology of comparative and contextual analysis. The obtained results allowed us to determine the culturally specific features of the extensive use of Chinese and English kinship terms. Therefore, kinship terms are studied not only as a language phenomenon, but also as a result of the development of the society and as a symbol of social culture. The research demonstrates the complex and strict system of kinship terms in the Chinese language and discusses the key similarities and differences from the extensive use of kinship terms in the English language. Examples are provided demonstrating the extensive use of kinship terms under the influence of social and cultural factors. We prove that the extensive use is represented considerably more broadly in Chinese compared to English. The significance of the obtained results is seen in the evolution of intercultural communication practices in order to avoid misunderstanding and communicative failures.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is limited research on the frequency and structure of these sequences used by Russian-speaking student writers across different proficiency levels. This study investigates the use of lexical bundles in argumentative essays written by Russian university students at three proficiency levels (C1, B2, and B1) using the REALEC corpus. The results indicate that lower-level students tend to rely on bundles more frequently, but with less variety due to limited linguistic resources. The structural analysis shows a significant preference for verb-phrase-based bundles and frequent use of verb phrases with pronouns, particularly personal pronouns. Colloquial quantifiers and evaluative bundles, such as anticipatory it-patterns, were also found to be extensively used by the students, regardless of their proficiency level. Additionally, the study highlights the widespread use of conversational and stereotypic bundles in the students' argumentative essays, even at higher levels of assessed proficiency, with their frequency increasing as proficiency level decreases. The findings of this study have practical and pedagogical implications for the acquisition, instruction, and assessment of second-language writing in English for academic purposes.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135799294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The material for the study is his “Notes from a Journey in Europe” (first of all, essays “Siberia” and “Moscow”), poems “Siberia” and “Reed Song (Remembering Sikhu on the Siberian Way)”. The following conclusions were drawn as a result of the work on the material. The image of Soviet Russia in the works of the Chinese poet is presented multifaceted and contradictory. In building Xu Zhimo traditional for the Russian philosophical thought concept of “Moscow – the Third Rome” Russia must be a country-messiah. To create such an image, the Chinese poet and essayist uses descriptions of landscapes of boundless Siberia and urban locales (Moscow, Irkutsk) A special place in “Notes from a Journey to Europe” is taken by the depiction of Russian churches. However, discovering the social, cultural and moral changes that occurred as a result of the 1917 revolution (poverty of people, shortages of food and necessities, high prices), Xu Zhimo created an image of the Soviet state, which is in a borderline social and political state. As a patriot, the Chinese poet is concerned that if a wave of revolutionary events were to break out in China as well, all the negative consequences of the revolution that Xu Zhimo saw in Russia would also affect his home country.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Russian, female correlates of sports names are a special group, since sport is a sphere where women and men are equally represented, and the formation of female correlates is especially relevant. In English, on the other hand, female athletes are denoted in other additional ways. The argumentation process, being a kind of social interaction, also requires the use of PT from disputants. The goal of this study is to demonstrate the functions of the human cognitive ability to take the perspective of others in argumentative discourse. The study is based on an interview conducted by Richard Dawkins with Wendy Wright. Both interlocutors present diametrically opposed views on the theory of evolution and intelligent design. To analyse the interview in the framework of argumentation theory, Pragma-dialectics served as a method for establishing and distinguishing fallacies and their interpretation. Mental reconstruction of the appeal to emotion fallacy assisted to identify the function of PT in using the fallacious argument. As a result, it has been illustrated that the PT capability has at least two functions in the argumentation process: the General (Conceptual) function — basic mechanisms to maintain communication; and the Differential (Operational) function — in providing arguments in general and in utilising fallacious arguments, i.e., appeal to emotion fallacy.","PeriodicalId":480796,"journal":{"name":"Kazanskij lingvističeskij žurnal","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
