Laxative therapy is a reliable way to treat constipation. Several medicinal plants exert laxative potential. Hence, we decided to identify medicinal plants with laxative properties in Arasbaran Forests, East Azerbaijan Province, Northwest Iran. Methods: This ethnobotanical study was conducted in Arasbaran Forests, East Azerbaijan Province, and Northwest Iran from October 2022 to December 2022. Questionnaires were distributed among 20 traditional medicine doctors and finally, traditional information on the therapeutic effect of medicinal plants was collected through interviews. Demographic information from indigenous people who have traditional botanical knowledge was also collected. Eventually, the data were analyzed. Results: Our work revealed that thirteen medicinal herbs from 11 herbal families have potent laxative effects. The Berberidaceae, Equisetaceae, Caprifoliaceae, Celasteraceae, Asteraceae, Cucurbitaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Grossulariaceae, Polygonacea, Polypodiaceae, and Rosaceae families had laxative effects. Fruit, leaves, aerial parts, bark, root, and rhizome were the most effective parts, respectively. These medicinal plants were administrated in decoction and fresh form. Conclusion: The findings show the traditional laxative effects of medicinal plants against constipation in this region, which have traditional uses. Therefore, identifying the phytochemical constituents of these plants and understanding the mechanism of their laxative effect can be helpful.","PeriodicalId":476420,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biochemicals and Phytomedicine","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136365960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this review is to introduce and debate on quick and easy diagnostic methods for the identity of meat and meat products. For carrying out this review, scientific databases and search engines for finding the articles were \"Google Scholar\", \"SID\", \"Scopus\", \"PubMed\", \"Science Direct\", and \"ISI\". The search was done for articles published that included the search term containing, authentication, meat products, health, and risk assessment in their title. This study focused on published articles from 2016 to 2022. The studies indicated that classical analytical methods have replaced fast, simple, and non-invasive methods to increase productivity and profitability in the meat supply chain. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy have become valuable analytical methods for structural or functional studies related to foods as a fast, non-destructive, cost-effective, and sensitive physicochemical fingerprinting method. The studies indicate that ATR-FTIR spectroscopy had better results statistically and functionally.","PeriodicalId":476420,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biochemicals and Phytomedicine","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136365974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study of pharmacodynamic and kinetic parameters of the release of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) from the dosage form (DF) is an important task. In this study, we tried to evaluate the release of APIs from developed dental medicinal films (DMF) produced on a polymeric basis. Methods: To confirm the antimicrobial activity of the three developed DMF with amizon, decamethoxine and chlorhexidine digluconate, a statistical analysis and mathematical processing of the research results were carried out. Results: Statistical processing made it possible to organize the results of our earlier studies, in which the concentrations of three APIs (amizon, decamethoxine, and chlorhexidine digluconate) were determined during their diffusion from the polymer base of the DMF to the aqueous dispersion medium (0.9% sodium chloride solution). Due to performed statistical calculations, regarding the reliability of APIs release, it was determined that the time duration of complete release of the three active substances from the polymer base was different, which will ultimately affect the duration of the pharmacological effect of the APIs in the patient's body. Conclusion: In the manufacture of DMF on a polymeric base of hydrophilic type, it is necessary to take into account the release time of each API, according to the composition of the polymeric coatings.","PeriodicalId":476420,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biochemicals and Phytomedicine","volume":"217 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136365973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
