The movement of plant organs in response to external stimuli is responsible for the production of energy sources. Research on the nature of the radicle tropics aims to find out whether the roots actually grow downwards due to geotropism or hydrotropism. The mung bean species (Vigna radiata L.) is used because the germination process of this species does not require a long time and the seeds of this species are suitable for growing on olfactometer planting media and are suitable for growing in the climatic and geographical conditions in Indonesia. The method chosen in this research is the tilted olfactometer method, which is a planting method carried out using an aquarium hose and olfactometer connector which is tilted 30 degrees because this research aims to see the direction of growth of the radicles of mung beans (Vigna radiata L.) so this method was chosen; because the seeds can be positioned in the three-pronged olfactometer at an angle so that the final growth results can be distinguished between the tendency of the geotropism factor or the hydrotropism factor. It is proved that radicles tips would growth upward to wet cotton, against the geotropic effect.","PeriodicalId":473565,"journal":{"name":"Magna Scientia Advanced Biology and Pharmacy","volume":"4 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140364551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nine species of Tinospora are naturalized in the different states of India. Tinospora cordifolia is one such plant and has shown to exhibit anti-carcinogenic properties. Tinospora cordifolia herbal supplements have recently gained prominence due to their promising immunomodulatory, and anticancer properties. Berberine (BBR) is a natural active principle with potential antitumor activity. Significant anti-carcinogenic properties were exhibited by Tinospora cordifolia-derived phytocompounds including palmative, berberine, new clerodane furanoditerene glycoside, arabinogalactan, phenolic compounds and epoxy cleodane diterpene. Cancer is an extreme metabolic disorder that has seen significant advancement in treatment plans and preventative remedies. It is also called neoplastic disease, characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation followed by the constant multiplication of human cells. This leads to the development of tumors of harmful malignant cells with the capacity to be metastatic. These plant derived natural resources have proved to be non-toxic and are potential modes of cancer management and therapy. Tinospora cordifolia extracts demonstrated the potent analogs possess multiple effects on numerous molecular targets of malignant cells. These analogs can be developed as non-toxic and therapeutically effective drug products to combat various malignancies.","PeriodicalId":473565,"journal":{"name":"Magna Scientia Advanced Biology and Pharmacy","volume":"35 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140364087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To prevent transmission of infectious diseases through blood transfusion its screening is performed everywhere. For this purpose, a research study is carried out during January 2019 to April 2019 at Mardan medical complex and Mardan teaching institute (MMC-MTI) Mardan KP, Pakistan. The specimens were collected from 625 blood donors with 619 males and 06 females. The samples were sent to the serology section of the pathology department for the diagnosis of syphilis through architect syphilis TP. The sero-prevalence of syphilis and the variation of prevalence in the previous and recent study were the objective of this research. It has found that only 06 male individuals are found to have syphilis infection while there is no such case reported in female individuals. So the overall sero-prevalence and sero-prevalence in male individuals were the same as 0.96%. The most positive cases were in the age group 38-74 years of age individuals. Which is the most sexually active age and it is reported that 1.8% of the sero-prevalence is found. The seroprevalance of syphilis in A- blood group was 5.5%, B+ patients had 1.56%, and with O+ patients it was 1.16%. From the results and analysis, the sero-prevalence of syphilis in the area and population where the study performed are at more risk of syphilis because per annual 0.30 increases is recorded by comparing the recent results with previous studies. As with the passage of time people are educated so we cannot say that it is because of the lack of awareness no also. So the opinion is that the lifestyle, social interaction of people with one another and carelessness in sexual intercourses is the main risk factors responsible for this increase in sero-prevalence of syphilis.","PeriodicalId":473565,"journal":{"name":"Magna Scientia Advanced Biology and Pharmacy","volume":"21 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140419721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These viral infections are characteristically linked with cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, and hepatocellular carcinoma that are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the population of developing countries including Nigeria. Young children and newborns are more likely to have liver damage early in life and become chronic HBV carriers. This study identified the frequency of hepatitis B and D co-infection in children visiting the emergency pediatric units of Plateau State Specialist Hospital and Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. The virus was screened using immunochromatographic Skytec® HBsAg test strips and Alere chase buffer for the qualitative detection of HBsAg in serum. HBsAg positive samples were confirmed using HBsAg Monolisa ELISA kit. Using an Italian HDV ELISA kit, samples that tested positive for HBsAg were further examined to evaluate the presence of HDV co-infection. The finding of this study revealed that 4.4% of children had HBsAg markers on their bodies. None of the children with HBV infection were co-infected with HDV. The HBV prevalence was found to be highest in children aged 6 to 10 years. Females had higher levels of HBV seropositivity (5.5%). Risk factors in children included birthplace (native households), failure to check children's HBV status after immunization, and history of jaundice. To properly manage and prevent this infection, it is advised that children should be promptly immunized at birth, their HBV status should be confirmed following immunization and they should be revaccinated if necessary.","PeriodicalId":473565,"journal":{"name":"Magna Scientia Advanced Biology and Pharmacy","volume":"11 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140418724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concentration of ten heavy metals (Fe, Mn, Zn, Pb, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co Ag and Cd) in the leaves of four test plants (Panicum maximum Jacq.,Eleusine indica L., Xanthosoma mafafa Schott. and Amaranthus spinosus L.) growing along four busy roads (Aba road, Ikwerre road, East/West road and NTA road) in parts of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area and a control ( in Ozuguru in Ikwerre Ngwo) in Etche Local Government Area, both in Rivers State, Nigeria were investigated in the study area. Along each road, four sampling points were set up at 1 km apart. The test plants were collected randomly and were pooled together to form composite sample. The collected test plants at each sample location were put in different sterile cellophane bags, labelled and served as soilage to the experimental animals. Eighteen guinea pigs were used for this investigation. Three guinea pigs were picked out of the eighteen guinea pigs using randomized block design for a preliminary test. The remaining fifteen guinea pigs were fed with the test plants from the experimental and control sites for six weeks. The concentration of the ten heavy metals were determined using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (ASS). The results revealed that Aba road had the highest mean concentration value of heavy metals in Cu, Zn, Co, Cr and Cd with values (28.75±1.34), (32.46±0.9), (5.14±0.11), (4.79±0.21) and (3.17±0.12) respectively. The highest mean concentration value for Mn and Pb were observed in East/West road with values (7.57±1.48) and (5.39±1.53) respectively, while the highest mean concentration value for Fe was observed in Ikwerre road (192.84±2.64). NTA road had the least values for all heavy metals tested while Ni and Ag were not detected in all livers and kidneys of the experimental animals. The results from this findings show the health implication of roadside grazing of ruminants.","PeriodicalId":473565,"journal":{"name":"Magna Scientia Advanced Biology and Pharmacy","volume":"6 18","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139591818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, there is a significant increase in the number of elderly adults, and secondly, there is a notable decrease in qualified staff available to care for retirees. In recent years, European countries have responded by raising the retirement age, but this only offers a partial and temporary solution. Training qualified personnel is an alternative, yet it's a lengthy and costly endeavor. Enhancing staff efficiency through improved qualifications is crucial, but as mentioned, it's time-consuming. A key strategy in optimizing the work of elderly caregivers is the large-scale digitization of their activities. To do this effectively, a thorough understanding of the daily needs and challenges faced by caregivers is essential. This understanding can be gleaned from a carefully structured questionnaire, comprising three questions divided into four categories, each encompassing specific predefined needs and challenges. These were evaluated by respondents, with their scores subsequently aggregated and normalized. From these normalized values, we can derive the critical functions needed for a software platform dedicated to digitizing social workers' tasks.","PeriodicalId":473565,"journal":{"name":"Magna Scientia Advanced Biology and Pharmacy","volume":"8 50","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139591468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
