The data were taken from the 2012 Andalusia Regional Election, where all poll-based forecasts failed. Our results show how using only landlines contributed to significant biases in voting estimates, where votes for the right-wing party (PP) were overestimated and votes for the left-wing parties (PSOE and IU) were underestimated. Moreover, and consistently with similar studies carried out in other countries, our analysis shows how under-coverage is clearly structured along important socio-demographic variables. This means that under-coverage could be causing bias in the measurements of other subjects that are important for social and political research in Spain.","PeriodicalId":46589,"journal":{"name":"Revista Espanola De Investigaciones Sociologicas","volume":"35 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88100101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sobre dicho proceso y lo que sería una buena muerte existe un ideal socialmente compartido que, en la actualidad, se está en condiciones de alcanzar y del que, sin embargo, la realidad política y jurídica se aleja. En este contexto nos planteamos como objetivos, en primer lugar, medir el apoyo que tienen dos prácticas, como son la eutanasia y el suicidio médico asistido (SMA). En segundo lugar, contrastar si hay diferencias significativas en las opiniones y actitudes de los españoles respecto a su regulación y cuáles son las características sociodemográficas y contextuales que pudieran ayudarnos a explicarlas y, por último, interpretar y discutir los resultados desde una perspectiva sociológica que bebe del republicanismo cívico y la bioética.","PeriodicalId":46589,"journal":{"name":"Revista Espanola De Investigaciones Sociologicas","volume":"139 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79664193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hemos podido comprobar que la gran diversidad provincial de patrones nupciales observados en Espana estuvo marcada fundamentalmente por la diferente intensidad del porcentaje de solteria definitiva mas que por la distinta edad de acceso al matrimonio. Tambien hemos constatado que los tradicionales patrones provinciales se siguieron replicando al menos hasta mediados del siglo pasado. La aplicacion de modernas tecnicas de analisis de panel de datos nos ha permitido confirmar algunas hipotesis explicativas que habitualmente suelen aparecer en la literatura especializada (referente al nivel economico, educativo o de urbanizacion) respecto al devenir historico del comportamiento nupcial en Espana. EnglishUsing provincial data about age at first marriage and permanent singlehood, this paper presents a detailed analysis of marriage behaviour for men and women in Spain over the period 1887-2001. It shows that the great diversity between the Spanish provinces as far as marriage patterns are concerned was basically conditioned by the different numbers of people who never married, rather than by the different ages at which people usually married for the first time. It also concludes that the traditional patterns in each province continued to be replicated at least until the mid-twentieth century. The application of modern panel techniques confirmed some explanatory hypotheses that are often proposed in the literature on the subject (concerning economic, educational, and urbanisation levels) about the historical development of marriage behaviour in Spain.","PeriodicalId":46589,"journal":{"name":"Revista Espanola De Investigaciones Sociologicas","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91345259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Este artículo propone expandir el estudio de la exposición selectiva más allá del cleavage izquierda-derecha explorando la importancia de las posiciones en el eje centro-periferia como predictores de preferencias mediáticas mediante una regresión logística aplicada a los datos del último estudio postelectoral del CIS en Cataluña. Los resultados subrayan que existe una clara segmentación de las audiencias según identidades nacionales, de forma que los ciudadanos con inclinaciones nacionalistas prefieren consumir medios autonómicos, y los no nacionalistas, medios de alcance estatal. Además, la identidad nacional se erige como factor explicativo más importante de las preferencias de radio y televisión, frente a la prensa escrita.","PeriodicalId":46589,"journal":{"name":"Revista Espanola De Investigaciones Sociologicas","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76554026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La hipotesis de partida plantea que la tendencia a una mayor dedicacion de los hombres al trabajo domestico no lleva aparejada una disminucion del tiempo que las mujeres dedican a las tareas domesticas, sobre todo, las mas rutinarias. A partir de la Encuesta de Empleo del Tiempo (INE), se estudia el caso de las parejas de doble ingreso heterosexuales, siendo la variable a explicar el cambio en el tiempo que se dedica al trabajo domestico segun su clasificacion en cuatro grupos de actividades. Los resultados apuntan que pervive la desigual dedicacion de hombres y mujeres al trabajo domestico y la segregacion de tareas segun su contenido, aunque se observa una disminucion de dichas diferencias. EnglishThis article focuses on changes in the distribution of housework between men and women. The main hypothesis suggests that the trend for a greater participation by men to domestic work does not lead to a reduction in the time that women devote to domestic tasks, especially the more routine ones. Based on the Time Use Survey (INE), this paper analyses the case of heterosexual dual-income couples. It uses the change in the time devoted to housework (according to its classification into four groups of activities) as the dependent variable. The results show that the unequal distribution and segregation of domestic work between men and women remains although a decrease is seen in these differences.","PeriodicalId":46589,"journal":{"name":"Revista Espanola De Investigaciones Sociologicas","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87196494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, is this the ideal choice? This paper uses three surveys from the Spanish Centre for Sociological Research (1997, 2001 and 2009) to analyse the preferences of the Spanish population for three types of support in recent years: informal family-based caregiving; formal public and private services; or combined care, which is a combination of the two previous ones. The socio-demographic characteristics of the people who would opt for each one of them is also discussed. The results suggest that, whereas the preference for family caregivers remains the choice of the majority, the preference for formal forms of care has grown substantially in recent decades.","PeriodicalId":46589,"journal":{"name":"Revista Espanola De Investigaciones Sociologicas","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90464466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
