The questionnaire was offered to the students who participated in the I Congress of Feminist Medicine of the CEEM (State Councils of Medical Students) held on March 12, 2021. This questionnaire was sent online through Google Forms.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The mean score obtained on the total scale was 3.83 scores (SD<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.61). For the dimension of protocolized-visible obstetric violence, the mean score is 2.79 points (SD<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.84) and for the dimension of non-protocolized-invisible obstetric violence, a mean of 4.16 points is obtained (SD<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.61). The global score of the displayed question differs statistically significantly with the variable scope (p<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.019), course (p<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.008), treatment according to ethnicity (p<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.008), treatment according to socioeconomic level, immigrant status (p <0.001), and prior knowledge about the concept of obstetric violence (p <0.001).</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>The data show a marked generalised sensitivity of the sample to the issue of obstetric violence, especially with regard to the ethnic characteristics of the women. Interviews were recorded and transcribed literally for coding and categorisation through a constant comparative process of code co-occurrence until data saturation using Atlas-Ti®. The anonymity of the informants has been guaranteed by using pseudonyms after approval by the Research Ethics Committee of the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín (Las Palmas, Canary Islands) with registration number 2021-403-1.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>18 interviews were conducted and 990 quotes were grouped into 22 categories of analysis and structured into four thematic groups (care, environment, patient and family, and professionals). The findings showed a holistic view emphasising the need to organise and integrate the factors involved in the home-based approach to paediatric palliative home care.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>In our context, the home environment meets appropriate conditions for the development of paediatric palliative care. {"title":"Identificación de pacientes hospitalizados con riesgo nutricional al ingreso valorado con la Nutritional Risk Screening","authors":"Gemma Robleda-Font , Mariona Victòria-Moix-Gómez , Cristina Serrano-Herrera , Gemma Navarro-Cano","doi":"10.1016/j.enfcli.2022.12.003","DOIUrl":"10.1016/j.enfcli.2022.12.003","url":null,"abstract":"<div><h3>Objective</h3><p>To determine the prevalence of nutritional risk in the hospital admission of adult patients and to analyze its association with sociodemographic and clinical factors of the patients.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>Cross-sectional, analytical and prospective study carried out on patients at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona between November and December 2018, during the first 48 hours of hospital admission. The Nutritional Risk Screening (NRS-2002) was used to detect malnutrition. Sociodemographic (age, sex), clinical (admission diagnosis, unit and comorbidities) and anthropometric (weight, height and BMI) data were collected. The association between the NRS and the study factors was estimated using a logistic regression model.</p></div><div><h3>Result</h3><p>285 patients with a mean age of 69.6 years (SD 15) were included, of which 56.5% (161) were ≥ 70 years. The prevalence of risk of malnutrition on hospital admission was 35.1% (95% CI: 29.8%-41.1%), being 15.9 times higher in patients with a previous stay in intensive care (OR 15 .90, 1.82-139.11: p 0.012); 10.35 times higher in patients with severe pneumonia (OR 10.35; 2.48-41.91: p 0.004) and 5.6 times higher in patients with stroke (OR 5.63; 1.71-18.53: p 0.004).</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>The prevalence of nutritional risk at admission was high and factors such as severe pneumonia, stroke and previous ICU admissions were associated with a higher risk of malnutrition. It was carried out with 301 healthcare professionals working in 64 Family Health Centers between January and June 2018. The data were collected by the researchers with a questionnaire including 28 questions.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The mean age of healthcare professionals was 36.89<!--> <!-->±<!--> <!-->8.5. All the healthcare professionals encountered mothers with the perception of insufficient breast milk. 73.7% of those with children had breast milk-increasing practices. Increased age negatively affected these practices (OR: 0.923), and increased education positively affected the practices (OR: 3.489). Having received training on breastfeeding and breast milk-increasing measures positively affected the use of practices (OR: 2.118). The use of breast milk-increasing practices by healthcare professionals positively affected their recommendations to mothers (OR: 2.506).</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>Health professionals had their own breast milk boosting practices that they recommended to women as well. It is carried out in the facilities of the Primary Care Center of Les Planes de Sant Joan Despí, Barcelona, belonging to the Catalan Institute of Health. For the data collection, a semi-structured and individual interview was used, with a script of basic aspects to be explored, not closed and focused on the objectives of the research. The interviews were carried out between June 2019 and December 2020. A thematic analysis was carried out concomitantly with the collection of these.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>A final sample of 13 persons (4 men and 9 women) participated in the study. Adherence to diabetic foot self-care recommendations is irregular. Participants explain risky behaviors despite knowing that they can cause injury to feet previously considered high risk. The evaluation of the podiatrist supposes an economic cost that some people cannot afford.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>The nurse has to do an exhaustive follow-up of how persons with diabetes take care of her feet, insisting on preventive recommendations not only in the annual review but every time the person attends the diabetes follow-up consultation. Univariate and bivariate analyses were conducted using SPSS version 20.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Of the 437 nursing students, 405 (105 men and 300 women) completed the survey. A low prevalence of perceived stress (17%; N<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->69) was found, with a mean (standard deviation) stress score of 17.17 (4.15). The stress level of the students was significantly associated with the academic year, the practice of professional extracurricular activities, the monthly income of the family, and the use of public transportation. In addition, the stress level was associated with the subjective quality of the sleep of the students, sleep latency, diurnal dysfunction, and usual sleep efficiency. In addition, a positive correlation was observed between «time management» scores and «test adaptation skills» scores. However, no significant association was observed between stress scores and the age and gender of the students.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>Although it was found level levels of perceived stress by the nurse students, there are personal and curricular factors, as well as factors regarding the sleeping quality, which as associated with its presence. Understanding the length of hospitalisation is critical for anticipating bed demand and resource allocation, such as oxygen. This study aims to examine the determinants of oxygen saturation and the length of hospitalisation in Hermina Mekarsari Hospital, West Java, Indonesia.</p></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><p>This cross-sectional study uses medical records from June to August 2021. The inclusion criteria were: COVID-19 patients aged between18 and 65, fully conscious, and not using mechanical ventilation. Participants who passed away during hospital stay were excluded. We used demographic information, laboratory data, and the clinician's assessments of the patients admitted to the hospital. Linear regression was performed for oxygen saturation on day seven, while logistic regression analysis was conducted to predict the length of hospital stay.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>In total, 371 participants with an average age of 47.2 (standard deviation 15.8) years were included. Most participants were female (57.7%) and smoking (78.4%). The results indicated that decreasing oxygen saturation was reported in vomiting patients (<em>β</em> <!-->=<!--> <!-->1.63, <em>p</em>-value<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->.001), hypertensive patients (<em>β</em> 1.18 with, <em>p</em>-value<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->.034), and patients with the increased respiratory rate (<em>β</em> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.28, <em>p</em>-value<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->.000). In the logistic regression, we found that respondents who experienced dyspnoea, headache, fever, an increasing number of D-Dimer and blood glucose, and those with diabetes mellitus were more likely to stay more than 14 days.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>Oxygen saturation was influenced by vomiting, hypertension, and increasing respiratory rate. Length of hospitalisation of more than 14 days was influenced by dyspnoea, headache, fever, increased number of D-Dimer, blood glucose, and diabetes mellitus.
