Based on different sales modes and recycling modes, six-game theory models are formulated to derive the optimal pricing and recycling rate decisions. Through the model comparisons and the numerical analysis, we investigate the strategies for choosing the optimal sales mode and the optimal recycling mode. We find that the customers, the environment and the manufacturer always prefer the dual-channel sales mode. However, the retailer prefers the dual-channel (retail channel) sales mode when the discount coefficient of demand is relatively low (high). Moreover, the customers, the environment and the manufacturer prefer the hybrid (retailer) recycling mode when the competing intensity of recycling is relatively low (high). However, the retailer prefers the hybrid (retailer) recycling mode in the retail channel CLSC while preferring the hybrid (manufacturer) recycling mode in the dual-channel CLSC when the competing intensity of recycling is relatively low (high).","PeriodicalId":46346,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Systems Science-Operations & Logistics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135044904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Transportation managers seek to use the existing facilities and capacities in an optimal way to increase customer satisfaction. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an approach to evaluate the performance of the urban transportation system to provide service to citizens effectively. This study develops an approach based on the extended version of the data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to measure the nonradial efficiency and super-efficiency of metro-stations considering the sustainability concept. The developed non-radial DEA model considers the hybrid returns to scale the form of technology by combining constant and variable returns to scale assumptions to improve its applicability to identify efficient and inefficient stations. This DEA model also incorporates the non-discretionary inputs and different types of outputs (i.e. undesirable, negative and non-negative) to improve discrimination power and the ability to interpret the results. The findings help decision-makers identify super-efficient stations as a benchmark for future planning and finding the best location to construct metro-stations. Furthermore, this research enables managers to optimally use the resources to increase the transferred passengers, reduce customer dissatisfaction and optimise the annual profit.","PeriodicalId":46346,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Systems Science-Operations & Logistics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135187323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study integrated an inventory model involving a single vendor, a single distributor, and multiple retailers. The carbon emissions involving emissions from a vendor and retailers are incorporated in this paper. An algorithm solution is proposed to minimise the total cost to determine the optimal decision variables, i.e. the lot size, number of deliveries, safety factor, lead-time, and emissions. A numerical example is illustrated to validate the proposed model and provide insight into the relevant industry. The life cycle cost assessment of the electrical equipment is also discussed for managers to inform their decision-making. From the comparison results, the integrated scheme comprising electric-powered with green investment is lower than without green investment, fossil-fuel with green investment, and fossil fuel equipment only with a total cost saving of 0.68%, 3.28%, and 3.59%, respectively; lower-emissions of 39.69%, 42.22%, 27.46%, respectively; and lead-time reduction of 1.80%, 25.23%, 23.78%, respectively.","PeriodicalId":46346,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Systems Science-Operations & Logistics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135380681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With known demand transitions, the manager makes order decisions to maximise the single-period profit by the optimal order policy or commits to a fixed quantity by the constant order policy. With unknown demand transitions, the demand-chasing order policy is adopted. The impacts of various endogenous factors on the system dynamics and performances are examined. It is found that the equilibrium demand can exhibit stability, periodic cycles, and chaos in the long-run dynamics. Strong social interactions can lead to instabilities in demand processes and impair the profitability of the inventory system. The value of information on endogenous demand transitions increases if social interaction intensities and/or sizes of loyal customers become larger. The results suggest that endogenous factors stemming from managers' decision-making, consumers' purchase behaviours, and their interplay can cause persistent and unpredictable demand fluctuations leading to instability and profit losses. Managers should understand the underlying causes of demand variations and the impacts of endogenous factors to improve operational effectiveness in inventory management.","PeriodicalId":46346,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Systems Science-Operations & Logistics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135421442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the related literature emphasises the lot streaming policy for time-based objectives, setup and transport resource constraints were not considered simultaneously with this policy, limiting the resulting schedule's applicability in practice. For this reason, we propose a novel Constraint Programming (CP) model enriched by an efficient variable and value ordering strategy specifically designed for the FJSSP-LS with resource constraints. We also present a CP-based iterative improvement method, CP-based Large Neighbourhood Search (CP-based LNS), that focuses on exploring large neighbourhoods through the CP model. Both models are initially tested for the FJSSP and have been shown to provide the best solutions to well-known benchmark instances. Next, they are used for the FJSSP-LS, and the proposed CP-based LNS improves the objective function value by 4.68 percent on average compared to the CP model for the generated test problems.","PeriodicalId":46346,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Systems Science-Operations & Logistics","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135672679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
