All forms of autism impair people's capacity to communicate with others, despite the fact that each person's symptoms and degree of severity vary. Despite the fact that there is no known cure for autism, children who receive prompt and serious treatment see significant improvements in their quality of life. The deficiencies in social functioning seen in individuals with autism spectrum disorders may be brought on by diseases of the neurological systems responsible for processing social information, according to research in the field of social neuroscience. This study examined the available evidence on the neurological underpinnings of autism spectrum disorders. The outcomes demonstrated aberrant activity in sections of the mirror nerve system and its three interrelated regions that are engaged in social perception, areas related to action observation, and regions that are involved in theory of mind. These findings point to faulty social information processing in autism spectrum disorders, which are characterized by flaws in the neurological systems responsible for social perception, action comprehension, and theory of mind. These results emphasize the involvement of the posterior superior temporal sulcus as a common location in all three systems and offer a framework for understanding the brain processes underlying social deficiencies in autism spectrum disorders.","PeriodicalId":46106,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Allied Sciences","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135838701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet nearly 2 years into the pandemic, little information is available about the sleep quality and psychological well-being of healthcare students and professionals in Saudi Arabia. This study aimed to assess the relationship between sleep quality and psychological distress in that population during the pandemic. A self-administered online questionnaire consisting of three sections was distributed to participants through social media platforms to evaluate sleep quality and psychological distress. The questionnaire was completed by 771 Saudi healthcare students and professionals. There was an inverse relationship between sleep quality and psychological distress (p < 0.001, R 2 = 0.138). The sleep quality score was statistically different between participants with chronic conditions and those without (5.2 (± 2.1), 5.8 (± 2.2), p = 0.008, respectively). Severe psychological distress was reported by 35.5%, while 31.6% reported mild to moderate psychological distress. Female healthcare students were more susceptible to psychological distress than males (p < 0.001). Healthcare students and interns/residents were more susceptible to psychological distress than medical specialists or consultants (p = 0.001, p = 0.033, respectively). Engaging in healthy lifestyle behaviors decreased the risk of psychological distress (p < 0.001, p = 0.006, respectively). The findings imply that sleep quality enhancement may decrease the risk of psychological distress among healthcare students and professionals in Saudi Arabia. Decision makers in healthcare facilities and schools could implement stress relief and coping programs to potentially reduce the risk of stress. Future in-depth qualitative research is warranted to examine the factors affecting sleep quality and psychological well-being.","PeriodicalId":46106,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Allied Sciences","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135356681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most cases of COVID-19 are spread from person to person by coming into contact with respiratory droplets that are released when an infected person coughs or sneezes. In this manuscript, we have highlighted the possible transmission of COVID-19 through food, water, air and paper. In the case of food, we have extensively covered the transmission of COVID-19 through meat, frozen foods, food packaging and food market along with the incidences worldwide. In the nextsection, we have highlighted the different components of air which are responsible for the transmission and also covered its relation with PM 2.5 incidence. The SARS-CoV-2 was isolated from sewage water/wastewater of various countries namely the United States, India, Australia, Netherlands and France signifying that wastewater can be a mode of virus transmission. The paper circulation by the infected COVID-19 patients can also be a virus conveyance route. It can be concluded that SARS-CoV-2 can therefore be transmitted indirectly through food via the workers involved in food packing or food marts.By following general safety precautions (wearing masks, using hand sanitisers, cleaning and disinfecting contact surfaces, and avoiding close contact), heating and using chemicals like ethanol (67-71%), sodium hypochlorite (0.1%) and hydrogen peroxide (0.5%) on environmental surfaces, along with vaccination, it is possible to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.Copyright © 2023 The International Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Allied Sciences (IJPRAS).","PeriodicalId":46106,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Allied Sciences","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70814247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
