Realizing its significant contribution to the nation’s development, policymakers and educators have also drawn attention to fostering entrepreneurship among the youth. Researchers attempted to comprehend the dynamics and investigate the factors influencing entrepreneurial intention (EI). As is true for other abilities and response tendencies, individual differences exist for EI also. This study aims to explore the relationship of emotional intelligence (EIn) and cognitive flexibility (CF) with EI and mediating effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) in the relationship between CF, EIn and EI.\u0000\u0000\u0000Design/methodology/approach\u0000The cross-sectional survey was conducted to gather responses from 635 individuals aged 17–26 years (M = 19.2, SD = 1.49). The hypotheses were tested using correlation, regression and mediation analysis.\u0000\u0000\u0000Findings\u0000The findings indicated that EIn and CF were significantly and positively related to EI. However, the paucity of research on managers’ entrepreneurial behaviour in the United Arab Emirates multinational corporate environment creates a salient gap in the current understanding of how national and organisational cultures that not always align frame the critical problems of CE. This study aims to fill this research gap by examining multinationals’ CE antecedents drawing on an institutional perspective in Dubai.\u0000\u0000\u0000Design/methodology/approach\u0000The author conducts 54 in-depth interviews with middle managers in multinational enterprises. The author has used abductive reasoning to systematically integrate analytical framework deduction with raw data induction.\u0000\u0000\u0000Findings\u0000This study’s findings indicate that CE in Dubai is ineffective and fragmented. Arguably, the cultural background of employees creates different circumstances and determinants of entrepreneurial behaviour. Hence, CE may not achieve epitome competencies without identifying multicultural nuances in an organisational context.\u0000\u0000\u0000Originality/value\u0000Existing research has placed relatively little emphasis on the role of individual national culture in multinational enterprises. This study’s results offer potentially valuable implications for theory, practice and future research addressing other emerging countries. By exploring the role of nowadays’ “influencer-mompreneurs” on Instagram, our research provides a springboard to holistically investigate an up-to-date facet of female entrepreneurship in the digital era and to identify the determinants of its success.\u0000\u0000\u0000Design/methodology/approach\u0000This study took place in Tunisia and examined a sample of 20 female followers of three successful influencer-mompreneurs. A qualitative exploratory study was conducted through semistructured interviews. To analyze the collected data, the authors used thematic analysis, through which the determinants of influencer-mompreneurs’ success on Instagram bearing on Tunisian followers’ perspectives and previous literature were identified.\u0000\u0000\u0000Findings\u0000The results suggest that the key determinants of influencer-mompreneurs’ success from their followers’ perspectives depend on their personal traits and their shared content. This is consistent with previous theories and models. In particular, source credibility theory and Ducoffe’s model of advertisement value, which to our knowledge, has not yet been wholly served with regard to influencer marketing research. Paradoxically, the findings reveal that “sharenting” details of their private lives as well as those of their children is also a determinant of influencer-mompreneurs’ success.\u0000\u0000\u0000Originality/value\u0000Research into influencer-mompreneurs’ success with presence of their children on Instagram can help to provide valuable insights because existing literature into the subject is ambiguous and requires further research to clarify this research gap. A total of 74 studies were included from the Scopus database in this review based on a specific inclusion–exclusion criterion and were analysed using VOS Viewer and MS-Excel.\u0000\u0000\u0000Findings\u0000This research found that agile leadership and complexity leadership framework contributed positively to the generation and promotion of CE in firms and created a conceptual model for the same. In particular, the authors are interested in examining which factors may cause the accelerator to report more or less accurate information, which will subsequently affect the investment decision and the outcome of the ventures. This study examines the impact of the equity share taken by the accelerator on the effort level being exerted in the information acquisition process, as well as the accelerator’s decision on the information disclosure regime.\u0000\u0000\u0000Design/methodology/approach\u0000The authors use mathematical models built upon well-established theoretical and practical concepts to analyze the research problems and derive the findings.\u0000\u0000\u0000Findings\u0000The authors show that when the accelerator takes a sufficiently large equity share from the entrepreneur in exchange for admitting the entrepreneur’s venture into the acceleration program, the accelerator is motivated to exert a significant level of effort to observe an accurate signal for the quality of the venture, and then disclose the information about the venture’s quality consistently with the observed signal (informative disclosure regime). On the other hand, if the accelerator takes a small equity share, it is optimal for her to exert no effort in the information acquisition process and simply adopt the basic disclosure regime, where the accelerator reports the quality of the venture based solely on the ex ante expected payoff of the venture, regardless of the observed signal.\u0000\u0000\u0000Practical implications\u0000The results indicate that an equity sharing scheme, which awards a sufficient amount of equity to the accelerator, can be an effective tool to help obtain accurate information about the quality of a startup venture and make a well-informed investment decision.\u0000\u0000\u0000Originality/value\u0000This research illustrates that the ownership stake of the accelerator can potentially indicate the accuracy of the information about the venture provided by the accelerator to outside investors. That is, when the stake held by the accelerator is large, the investors can conjecture that the information about the venture reported by the accelerator may be highly accurate and reliable. In contrast, if the accelerator holds a small stake, then it is likely that the information provided by the accelerator may not add any value to the publicly available information. These insights can guide investors (e.g. angle investors, venture capitalists, etc.) in making well-informed startup investment decisions.\u0000
