A web survey was administered to 857 participants (365 men) who filled out a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, the Persistent and Intrusive Negative Thoughts Scale, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale. Then, participants were divided into four groups according to levels of symptomatology. The results showed that scores for repetitive negative thinking increased due to the severity of generalized anxiety symptoms. For life satisfaction, individuals without generalized anxiety symptoms scored significantly higher than individuals with generalized anxiety symptoms. Furthermore, repetitive negative thinking mediates and explains over 54% of the relationship between generalized anxiety symptoms and life satisfaction when controlling for age, sex, clinical diagnosis, and current psychiatric medication. Overall, the current findings highlight the central role of repetitive negative thinking in the relationship between generalized anxiety symptoms and life satisfaction and reinforce a transdiagnostic process in the maintenance of anxiety symptomatology and well-being impairment.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"185 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135479641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A valorização do desenvolvimento de competências transversais no percurso formativo é também a aposta de uma formação universitária em estreita ligação com a investigação. Neste enquadramento, a Mostra de Doutoramento em Psicologia assume uma especial importância enquanto iniciativa de promoção e valorização da investigação realizada na área da Psicologia na FPCE-UC. Esta Mostra é, também, um espaço privilegiado para a apresentação, pelos/as estudantes, dos seus projetos de doutoramento, quando numa mais fase inicial do seu percurso, e para a apresentação pública dos resultados dos seus projetos, oferecendo-lhes uma experiência em tudo idêntica ao de um congresso científico. E porque a Mostra de Doutoramento em Psicologia se insere no âmbito de uma unidade curricular do curso de Doutoramento em Psicologia (“Competências Científicas Transversais”), esta iniciativa possibilita o treino de apresentação de comunicações científicas, mas também o debate e a partilha de conhecimento numa lógica “multidisciplinar”, no denominador comum que é a Psicologia.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"148 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135979026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Este artigo tem o objetivo de apresentar propriedades psicométricas da Escala Triangular do Amor Reduzida (ETAS-R) para uma amostra de 1.380 pessoas homossexuais brasileiras (966 homens). Diferentes modelos foram testados a partir de análises exploratórias e confirmatórias e o modelo teórico original de três fatores apresentou os melhores índices de ajuste, embora a retenção fatorial e os índices de unidimensionalidade da medida tenham indicado a plausabilidade de um fator geral. As evidências apresentadas acrescentam à discussão em curso sobre a estrutura fatorial e teórica da medida e inserem os relacionamentos homoafetivos no campo de pesquisa do amor na psicologia cientifica de maneira mais robusta. Em geral, os resultados apresentaram similaridades com dados analisados em outros estudos com amostras de heterossexuais, permitindo ampliar o constructo teórico sobre o amor de Sternberg para pessoas homossexuais.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135094372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To standardise the MADRS administration, a structured interview was developed (SIGMA). This study aims to translate and validate the SIGMA for European Portuguese. Twenty patients (80% women) were interviewed by ten dyads of raters (trained clinical psychologists and psychiatrists) using the European Portuguese version of the MADRS and its structured interview SIGMA. There was no significant difference in the total MADRS score between raters (interviewers and observers). The intraclass correlation for the total score between raters using the SIGMA was excellent (r = .98; p < .001). All items had excellent to good item-level intraclass correlation, and the internal consistency by rater role was good. The European Portuguese version of the SIGMA showed good preliminary psychometric properties (reliability and internal consistency). Our results suggest that the SIGMA is a useful and robust interview guide for assessing the ten depression symptoms in the MADRS, regardless of the rater clinical background.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135828309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, previous research on text-based online counseling is limited to young users in Western countries. Given its potential utility for broader populations, description of the public image of the service is necessary to reach broader populations. The current study aimed to describe public images of text-based online counseling in Japan, focusing on generational differences. An online survey asked Japanese participants (N = 614) from a wide age range (M = 41.77; SD = 11.98, range = 20 to 76) to freely describe their image and impressions of “SNS counseling,” the Japanese term for text-based counseling. We quantified each description with the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) algorithm, a deep learning technology for natural language processing. We explored the components of images of text-based online counseling that linearly correlate with age. The main result indicated that the image of text-based online counseling among younger participants clustered around lightness, with both positive and negative connotations. Younger participants regarded text-based online counseling as easy to access but less serious. The image of text-based online counseling among older participants indicated that they were anxious about not being able to see the “face” of the counselor, and were concerned about security and privacy.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135791348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We conducted a questionnaire composed of the recompiled Benefit Finding Scale, Student Version of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, and 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale. In the outbreak stage of COVID-19, all aspects of students’ academic engagement were lower than before the outbreak stage of COVID-19 (p < .001). BF had a positive influence on academic engagement (β = .253, p < .001), and anxiety weakened the relationship between BF and academic engagement (β = –.138, p = .001). BF by college students due to the long-term epidemic increased their academic engagement, and students with high BF had positive motivation and performance in academic achievements. However, the different degrees of anxiety brought by the outbreak decreased the positive influence of BF on academic engagement.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135344055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A paixão tem função fundamental no engajamento e manutenção destas práticas por longos períodos. Este estudo objetivou estimar evidências de validade da Escala de Paixão pelo Exercício com base na estrutura interna e relação com variáveis externas, afeto positivo e negativo. As análises fatoriais exploratória (amostra 1, N = 460 adultos da população geral praticantes de exercício físico) e confirmatória (amostra 2, N = 333 adultos da população geral praticantes de exercício físico) sugeriram adequação das duas dimensões da paixão, harmoniosa e obsessiva. A análise fatorial confirmatória multigrupo indicou a invariância forte do instrumento em função do sexo dos praticantes. Por meio da Modelagem de Equações Estruturais, verificou-se associação positiva da paixão harmoniosa com afeto positivo e associação negativa com afeto negativo experienciados durante a prática de exercício; em contraste, foi observada associação positiva entre paixão obsessiva e afeto negativo durante tal prática. Estes são indicativos de que não só a prática constante de atividades físicas impacta os níveis de felicidade dos sujeitos, mas também o tipo de relação que estabelecem com o exercício.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135784921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Design/methodology/approach: This is a qualitative study, and information was collected through interviews. It adopted a systematic design, characterized by open, axial, and selective coding. Eleven interviews were conducted with legal professionals specializing in the investigation of financial crimes, who have identified the factors involved in corruption and fraud. The information was analyzed using the ATLAS TI 6.5 software. Findings: The results showed that lack of control was the most important factor that led to corruption in entities, while ambition, greed, and acceptance of corrupt conduct were the most common factors in the individual sphere. Identifying the factors associated with corruption is relevant for proposing preventive measures.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135146055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aquí se presentan los resultados de una investigación cuantitativa de nivel descriptivo, que tuvo como objetivo general realizar una caracterización de la agresividad en un grupo de adolescentes con este tipo de trastorno. El estudio se desarrolló con jóvenes de un centro de internamiento preventivo que se encontraban en proceso de judicialización, aún no sancionados, pero privados de la libertad. Se seleccionaron por conveniencia 115 hombres, a los que se les aplicaron cinco instrumentos de medición: el Inventario de Motivos para la Agresión, el Inventario de Situaciones y Comportamientos Agresivos, el Cuestionario de Agresión de Buss-Perry, el Cuestionario de Agresividad Proactiva y Reactiva, y la Escala de Agresividad Apetitiva. El principal motivo para la agresión era conseguir algo que querían, eran agresivos sin que hubiese algún motivo, expresaban frecuentemente su ira, amenazaban a personas conocidas, se enojaban cuando tenían desacuerdos, creían que los demás se burlaban de ellos a sus espaldas, se sentían bien después de agredir física o verbalmente a alguien, portaban armas para usarlas en peleas y consideraban que pelear era lo único que querían hacer en la vida.","PeriodicalId":45571,"journal":{"name":"Psychologia","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135145979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
