This paper develops a risk metric using building performance simulation by associating thermal and incidental risks in buildings during power outages while considering multiple cold and hot events. Conditional Value at Risk (CVaR) is calculated using variations in outage events. According to the results, employing an integrated building design and a microgrid with photovoltaic panels that can be disconnected from the grid halves vulnerability related to ice storms and completely mitigates it for historical heatwave events. The variability study has revealed that a code-minimum design has eight times the CVaR of the as-built design. This novel methodology has the potential to inform future environmental, social, and corporate governance strategies and assist infrastructure operators in managing their risk exposure to future climate change events, considering various types of risks and multiple hazards.KEYWORDS: Riskthermal resilienceincidental damagesadaptationzero-net-energy Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).Correction StatementThis article has been corrected with minor changes. This study aims to identify the current research trends for sustainable and resilient infrastructure in terms of years, classify the various types, research methods, and indicators of infrastructure projects, and compile an overview of indicators from the existing literature. The results are anticipated to contribute to the current knowledge body about sustainable and resilient infrastructure project development by highlighting recurrent themes and emerging trends in the field. This research applied the PRISMA strategy, which incorporates bibliometrics and visualisation tools, to analyse the 442 bibliographic papers published in databases on the topic between 2005 and 2022. According to the findings, the amount of research conducted increased between 2018 and 2021, with China and Europe being the most significant contributors. The total of 105 articles was selected, covering various infrastructural types and approaches. The examination led to the extraction of four sustainable infrastructure indicators: environmental, economic, social and resilient. This study provided valuable data on the latest research trends and indicators for designing sustainable and resilient infrastructure projects which will assist future research.","PeriodicalId":45395,"journal":{"name":"Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":5.9,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46221444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
