The ability to speed up the necessary transfer of knowledge between individuals in business processes can lead to a huge competitive advantage, for instance, if intelligent information systems are enabled to analyze complex patterns of knowledge flows and adapt to the individual knowledge transfer situation. This paper introduces a time-dependent knowledge transfer model incl. an experimentation tool with the intention of predicting and furthermore accelerating the speed of knowledge transfer among people and information systems. While intelligent information systems start to function as management instances on the basis of this model, experiment results show the validity of considering intervening information systems as strategic tools for improving resource allocation in processes and clarifying the meaningfulness of knowledge for the creation of sustainable AI.","PeriodicalId":45217,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2024-08-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141928415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It introduces Absorptive Capacity 4.0, a dynamic framework that traces an organization's evolution towards a comprehensive Learning Organization by redefining absorptive capacity to include value realization, multi-layered learning processes, and strategic adaptability. Emphasizing continuous adaptation, the research demonstrates how firms excel by adjusting their learning strategies to embrace technological advancements and market dynamics. Through empirical analysis and reconceptualization, it highlights the importance of a robust absorptive capacity framework for organizational competence, sustainable innovation, and competitive advantage. The study concludes a practical exploration using a case study of an SME, aligning its strategic adaptability with the Absorptive Capacity 4.0 model, It also suggests implications for future research and advocating for a shift towards a learning-centric organizational culture in various industries.","PeriodicalId":45217,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141810536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This investigation was an empirical analysis of data collected from the 2020 Federal Employee Viewpoint (FEV) Survey and records attributed to the Department of the Navy (N = 32,416). The Department of the Navy consists of naval forces and marine forces for maritime operations, which conduct internal collaboration and represent cases of both external institution to institution (i2i) collaboration and internal unit to unit (u2u) collaboration. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is a useful analytical approach to examine the relationships among all the measured and latent variables. The resulting SEM analysis evoked the importance of individual behaviors on collaborative efforts.","PeriodicalId":45217,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141825756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Utilizing over 65 years of experience on effective collaboration, inc. advisory notes, experiences, proven models, industry case studies and collaborators' recommendations for rich, long and successful partnerships. A five step model for cooperation is proposed: goal setting, key stakeholder analysis, legal framework definition for interaction, best practice experience analysis, and goal readjustment. Model facilitates effective interactions to achieve the set goals by adequately focusing on main issues. We contribute to the proper collaboration approaches discussions, allowing good outcome UIC. Academics and practitioners should seek specific signs, activities & outputs to avoid near term challenges in changing world. Virtual environments and metaverse collaboration are suggested to be considered as next level UIC platforms and future research is in need of extended range of interactions and novel new long-term cooperation model studies.","PeriodicalId":45217,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2024-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141379940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Knowledge must be identified, captured, and shared to improve KM practices; however, little is known about the successful implementation of KMS infrastructure by Namibian mobile telecommunications companies. This mixed-methods research study employed a convergent parallel design and parallel sampling techniques. Three hundred and nine online questionnaires were distributed to a representative sample, with a response rate of 57%. Computer software packages were used to analyse quantitative data quantitatively, and qualitative data from interviews with 11 participants and analysis of documents were analysed thematically. Findings showed that infrastructure, management support, and employee participation were necessary for a successful KMS infrastructure implementation for effective and efficient KM practices. The study provides MT companies with a foundational understanding of how the infrastructure for KMS is essential for effective and efficient KM practice.","PeriodicalId":45217,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140424203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article, therefore, aims to investigate the effect of knowledge application (KA) and knowledge storage (KS) on bank performance (BP) of Yemeni banks with mediating role of fintech innovation (FI). A sample size of 360 respondents from the banks were selected for the study. The authors used a Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyse the data. The study reveals that KA and KS positively and significantly impact bank performance. In addition, fintech innovation positively and significantly meadiates the relationship between KA, KS, and BP. This highlights the importance of FI in the effective use of knowledge and its impact on BP. These findings provide valuable insights for banks looking to improve their performance through effective knowledge management (KM) and the implementation of fintech innovations","PeriodicalId":45217,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140479533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
