Addressing this gap, this study aims to identify the simultaneous focus on digitalization and sustainability aspects in entrepreneurship literature and to investigate how the business model perspective has been incorporated into these studies. Using a two-phase bibliometric analysis of 284 papers from 2005 to 2022 in the Web of Science database, this paper identifies the unique research clusters in the literature. The gathered data was subjected to co-occurrence, citation, co-citation, co-author, and bibliographic coupling analysis. The results reveal that while some studies prioritize digital entrepreneurship with minimal consideration of sustainability, others predominantly emphasize social impact and sustainable development, treating digitalization merely as a means to an end. Additionally, only a small group of scholars have surveyed business models in this context. This study not only offers valuable insights into current trends and patterns in digital sustainability, but also provides a framework and suggestions for scholars and entrepreneurs alike to navigate this evolving landscape. The findings especially highlight the need for business model thinking to connect the digital and sustainable features of entrepreneurship, for the creation of more diverse international scholar networks, and for the execution of in-depth empirical research that allows for the inquiry of particular relationships and mechanisms.
","PeriodicalId":45024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Entrepreneurship Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141525210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The quantitative research method and non-probability selection strategy were applied based on attributes pertinent to the study’s goals. We included the 450 entrepreneurs (25 to 50 years old) who had started their businesses from 2021 to 2023 and were from Jaipur, Rajasthan. A significant correlation (positive) was noticed between firm size (FS), firm age (FA), innovative capabilities (IC), funding and financing opportunities (FFO), education and research (ER), competitive advantage (CA), networking, and infrastructure support (NIS) with the survival of startups. ER, CA, NIS, and FFO [calculated adjusted R square—0.903, F value—1041.166, and P value—0.000] were discovered to be significant predictors of startup survival (SS). To attain this objective, the researchers developed a model to examine the relationship between environmental entrepreneurship and environmental degradation, taking into account the effects of corruption and financial market development in the long and short run. This study was performed for 15 countries in the Middle East and North African region between 2000 and 2019 by adopting a PMG-ARDL approach. Findings show that (i) real income significantly increases carbon dioxide emissions, while environmental entrepreneurship decreases pollution; (ii) control of corruption can improve environmental quality by influencing environmental entrepreneurship and carbon dioxide emission relationship; and (iii) financial development does not affect the environmental entrepreneurship and carbon dioxide relationship. The conclusion highlights the critical role of controlling corruption to achieve environmental sustainability in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through the adoption of environmental entrepreneurship. The scalability of a startup is influenced by various factors such as leadership, business structure, access to technology, culture, and entrepreneurial teams, in which entrepreneurial teams play an important role. The impact of the entrepreneurial team on the scale of startups is important because they provide the leadership, expertise, and strategic direction needed to navigate the challenges of scale and take the startup to the next level. The impact of entrepreneurial teams can be categorized into two functional factors: team diversity, encompassing age, gender, and functional background, and team processes, including team-level cognitive comprehensiveness, team commitment, team size, and team integrity. A research instrument was administered to owners and managers of 90 Iranian technological startups between April and July 2021. Sampling was conducted using a simple random sampling method based on the accessible statistical population. The data collected was analyzed using path analysis and SmartPLS3 software. The findings indicate that both diversity and team processes play vital roles in the scalability of a startup. Moreover, team demographic characteristics and cognitive comprehensiveness were found to have the most significant influence on startup scalability and team integrity, respectively. In light of this, policymakers are encouraged to foster a collaborative and innovative environment for upcoming entrepreneurial teams to sustain the growth of startups. Furthermore, managers should focus on creating a culture of trust and loyalty within entrepreneurial teams to strengthen team commitment.
","PeriodicalId":45024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Entrepreneurship Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141194017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study also assessed the mediating function of green entrepreneurship behavior (GEB). This study is quantitative in nature and utilizes a cross-sectional research design with a focus on survey methodology. The instrument questionnaire was adopted from prior studies to collect the required data. The targeted population was students from a few universities in the cities of Halle and Lahore in Germany and Pakistan. The sample size was 451 respondents from universities in respected cities and countries. SPSS and Smart PLS were used for analysis. According to the findings, personality traits (PT) and sustainable education (SE) play a crucial role in influencing green entrepreneurial intention (GEI) and consequently significantly influence and lead to green entrepreneurial behavior (GEB). This research provides valuable insight for studying the relationship among personality traits (PT), sustainable education (SE), and green entrepreneurial behavior (GEB) mediated by green entrepreneurial intention (GEI). This combination has not been previously studied. Our study’s novelty rests in filling its methodological gap, as data is collected from Germany and Pakistan and a new model is introduced. This research cannot be generalizable in the context of other countries and different industries. Different situational and organizational factors could also influence this connection. Assuming that personality traits (PT) would have a direct influence on an individual’s entrepreneurial intention and subsequent behavior would be too simplistic.
","PeriodicalId":45024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Entrepreneurship Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141169814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
