The proposed PQHA is fed by a four-port quadrature phase system which consists of a 180°power splitter and two couplers implemented by lumped-element circuit. The fabricated and miniaturized PQHA measures only.The measured impedance bandwidth is about 21% and the 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth range from 800-1000MHz can cover the whole UHF RFID bands. The measured maximum gain is around 3.6dBic and the 3-dB beam width is about 120°at 920 MHz, which small size and good performance is enough for practical handheld RFID applications.","PeriodicalId":448865,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Imaging, Signal Processing and Communication","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116970026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

EHR management will bring many benefits including easy to store, cost effective, shareable with health professionals to a remote location, etc. However, EHR stores very sensitive data and thus, a number of security properties including privacy, secrecy, integrity, authenticity of data and availability must be ensured during data transmission, storing and sharing with health professionals. In this paper, we have studied symmetric key based technique in designing EHR management protocol. In light of the existing efforts, we have developed a simple protocol for secured EHR management and validated that protocol using AVISPA, an industry-strength security protocol validation tool. AVISPA has reported our protocol free from known attacks and confirmed the desired security properties as well.","PeriodicalId":448865,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Imaging, Signal Processing and Communication","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132718524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firmware was introduced by Ascher Opler in 1967, to solve confusion on defining the software code residing in the hardware Read Only Memory (ROM). Moore's law (1965) is rumored to coming to an end, but undeniable it has been envisioning semiconductor industry for the past 5 decades. Improvement in semiconductor manufacturing technology for integrated chip has at least 10 to 100-folded in term of performance. Embedded device which was then resource-constrained is now capable to run full fledge operating system (O/S). Firmware had been used to define the software code reside in ROM for the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) in our computer motherboard used for initialization of the hardware peripheral. Firmware is also used to define the software code reside in microcontroller and embedded system. Embedded microcontroller is used in various application due to its low cost, small size, reliability, less power consumption and lighter weight. The improvement of technology in term of both hardware and software development had introduce microcontroller like Arduino to allow people to carry out firmware coding relatively ease compared with previously available embedded system. The increased capacity of embedded memory had allowed O/S stack to reside with the embedded system firmware which has blurred the border between firmware and software as how the software code stored in the hardware ROM happened back in 1967. The definition of firmware should be redefined over time to further avoid confusion. Although the borderline between firmware and software is rather blur, undoubtedly firmware is a piece of software with close relation to the hardware within. This paper gives an overview about firmware and provides a clearer view on firmware in personal computer and embedded systems.","PeriodicalId":448865,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Imaging, Signal Processing and Communication","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126841610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By using the Framelet Transform, the spectral containment of the channels will be more efficient, since it does not use Cyclic Prefix (CP) that usually used in the traditional model. To improve the error rate performance of FT-OFDM, forward error correction coding is essential. This paper proposes Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) coded Framelet Transform-based OFDM (LDPC-FT-OFDM). The use of LDPC coding with FT-OFDM is useful in providing the desired performance at high data rates. The proposed system was tested according to two different coding rates and mapping techniques over Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and frequency-selective fading channels. The performance of the proposed system was compared to that of the uncoded FT-OFDM, LDPC-FFT-OFDM, and uncoded FFT-OFDM systems. The simulation results showed that the proposed model performs better than the three other models. Hence, the proposed LDPC-FT-OFDM system is a promising solution for high efficient data transmission over wireless channels.","PeriodicalId":448865,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Imaging, Signal Processing and Communication","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130635189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fiber-Wireless (FiWi) access network which combines the advantages of optical and wireless networks has caught a wide attention and become a promising solution. However, different protocols as well as resource scheduling mechanisms between optical and wireless subnetworks of FiWi access network pose a huge challenge to its seamless integration and resource optimization. Network virtualization, which allows several Virtual Networks (VNs) running independently on the common Substrate Network (SN) and provides customized services to end users, becomes an effective solution for the network ossification problem of industry FiWi access network. However, due to the diverse needs for node and link resources of industrial VNs, the residual resources of nodes and links in SN may easily become unbalanced during the Virtual Network Embedding (VNE), which impairs the resource utilization of SN. Considering the resource fragmentation problem in VNE approaches, an online VNE algorithm is proposed in this paper. Our work aims to improve the VN acceptance ratio and SN resource utilization through minimizing the resource occupied by VNs and reducing the resource fragmentation degree of SN.","PeriodicalId":448865,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Imaging, Signal Processing and Communication","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126021239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
