This was especially the case in the appreciable delimitation of a supposed subsequent humanist ‚Prague German literature‘ (as center) against a presumed comprehensively nationalist, even pre-fascist, Sudeten-German literature (as periphery). Surprisingly, however, both in the contributions to the volume of the Weltfreunde-conference of Paul Reimann and Eduard Goldstücker, there is also an argumentation pattern in which Prague is profiled as a periphery to the capital cities of ‚worldhistorical peoples‘ (Reimann) or to Vienna (as capital of Austria-Hungary by Goldstücker), and the particular significance of ‚Prague German Literature‘ is derived precisely from this peripheral position.
