Now-a-days, people are using devices which vary in their configuration. Moreover, each user may have their own preference whenever they want to share files. To address device heterogeneity as well as user preference, we need to adapt the file at the time of sharing. In this paper, we propose a decision engine for file adaptation in advanced collaborating environment. The decision engine selects the best match adaptation settings based on both user preference and device capabilities. Moreover, we discuss about our first prototype implementation here. At it's current stage, our prototype only deals with image files. However, the measurement of software component quality is relatively less researched against conventional software quality in practice. This paper introduces an in-house component quality model which includes metrics for component quality evaluation, tailoring guidelines for evaluations, and reporting formats of evaluations. Also, we present the examples of quality evaluation with it. Recently, to formalize and visualize the quality of S/W components in a quantitative way we have applied this component quality model to embedded system development projects so that component developers can control component quality to build reusable and quality components while enabling cost reduction and quality improvement. The current trend seems to be moving toward the convergence of traditional telephone networks with the Internet. The capabilities of Internet terminals, such as PCs, are more powerful than those of traditional terminals for telephone networks, particularly in terms of their storage capabilities and user interface. IT developers can easily create new telecommunication services using Parlay APIs, without needing to become experts in the field of telephony. Although using SOAP over HTTP allows for easier communication, normal individual developers have some difficulties in processing SOAP messages due to the verbose XML format. REST based APIs can be a good alternative, as they have no additional messaging layer except for HTTP. In this paper, we introduce REST based Open APIs for building outbound call and messaging services. The uncontrolled flooding usually is likely to serious contention and collision due to many redundant transmissions. It therefore can lead to decreasing network performances such as routing overhead and packet delivery ratio. To cope with this, this paper proposes an effective broadcast algorithm called ZBARD (ZigBee broadcasting algorithm on route discovery). As ZBARD sets the broadcast radius to a proper value which can guarantee establishing a shortest path between nodes, it minimizes control packets issued by the route discovery. Due to limitation of redundant transmissions, it reduces collision as well as contention and results in improving network performances such as routing overhead and packet delivery ratio. Vertical Handoff for that architecture could be a challenge because of drastic changes among overlaid networks. In the paper, design considerations and vertical handoff schemes are suggested: network-node assisted vertical handoff and neighbor-node assisted vertical handoff. By adopting cross-layer approach and rate-controlled link features such as AMC, it is possible to prepare an optimal TCP context proactively before moving, which facilitates immediate switching after a vertical handoff. The proposed method helps us compare experimental results of unmanned robot tracking in active and passive architecture. However, those approaches still remain some issues on video streaming which cause QoS degradation because of the lack of a feedback control mechanism depending on network bandwidth. In this paper, we propose a solution for the issues by using the feedback control mechanism of RTP and RTCP through an actual implementation of a mobile reservation protocol. We also describe actual performance results other than simulation which was performed to prove the outcome carried out by those existing RSVP-related handoff mechanisms in mobile IP network environment.
