We analyze the modulation parameters of galactic cosmic ray transport in the heliosphere retrieved from GCR anisotropy for solar cycles 18-23 and parts of 17 and 24, covering the period 1937-2018. We find that the ratio of mean free paths normal and parallel to mean interplanetary magnetic field B is polarity dependent at Earth orbit with higher values for periods around solar minima for positive polarity (A>0) than for negative (A<0). Timeline of ratio for more than 7 decades, exhibits a slight ~11-year and dominant ~22-year variation and has a strongly polarity-dependent character with the considerable enhancement in the minimum epoch of solar activity for A>0 magnetic polarity. Results are confronted with current modulation theories. We examine the timeline of variance of the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude and components and their contribution in the solar cycle and solar magnetic polarity dependence of cosmic ray modulation.","PeriodicalId":448458,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 38th International Cosmic Ray Conference — PoS(ICRC2023)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129822333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These unique results, obtained with the same detector and with unprecedented precision in the uncharted energy range, provide precise experimental information and reveal new properties of cosmic charged elementary particles. In the absolute rigidity range of 60 to 525 GV, the antiproton-to-proton flux ratio is constant and the antiproton flux and proton flux have identical rigidity dependence. This behavior indicates an excess of high-energy antiprotons compared with secondary antiprotons produced from the collision of cosmic rays. More importantly, from 60 to 525 GV, the antiproton flux and positron flux also show identical rigidity dependence. The positron-to-antiproton flux ratio is independent of energy, and its value is determined to be a factor of 2 with percent accuracy. This unexpected observation indicates a common origin of high-energy antiprotons and positrons in the cosmos.","PeriodicalId":448458,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 38th International Cosmic Ray Conference — PoS(ICRC2023)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122860827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The injection process and the subsequent acceleration of CRs in the SNR shocks are closely related to the formation process of the collisionless shocks. The shock formation is caused by wave-particle interactions. Since the wave-particle interactions result in the energy exchange between electromagnetic fields and charged particles, the randomization of particles around the shock may occur at the rate given by the scalar product of the electric field and current. The randomization can be quantified by the entropy production. We find that order-of-magnitude estimates of the entropy production with reasonable strength of the electromagnetic fields in the SNR constrain the amount of the CR nuclei and ion temperatures. The constrained amount of the CR nuclei can be sufficient to explain the Galactic CRs. The ion temperature becomes half of the case without CRs. Future observations by XRISM and Athena can distinguish whether the SNR shock accelerates the CRs or not from the ion temperature observations.","PeriodicalId":448458,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 38th International Cosmic Ray Conference — PoS(ICRC2023)","volume":"345 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122163093","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Observations by ground based observatories have clarified several characteristics of these particles, but their origin, nature, and acceleration mechanisms are still unclear, mostly due to their extremely low flux. Space-based observatories have the potential for an increase in statistics, up to several orders of magnitude, and would be able to cover the whole sky, allowing for a direct comparison of spectra and direction of arrival, but the detector design poses several formidable technical challenges. The JEM-EUSO program has been addressing this problem, trying to open the road of space-based UHECR observations. Several missions have already been completed (on the ground: EUSO-TA; with stratospheric ballons: EUSO-Balloon, EUSO-SPB1 and EUSO-SPB2; in space: TUScite{Klimov2017}, MINI-EUSO). Others are under study (K-EUSO) or proposed for the next decade (POEMMA)cite{Olinto_2021}.
