This clinical problem is in accompany with loss of innervation in arms or legs, leading to the loss of motor and sensory function. Although, this problem is not lifethreatening, impose socio-economical pressure on individual and society. The worst case of a peripheral nerve trauma is the total disruption of the nerve (neurotmesis), which requires realignment. Chitosan, a natural polysaccharide, synthesized from chitin which is abundant in shrimps and crabs skeleton. Chitosan has excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability can be used as nerve conduit material. The purpose of this work was to study the ability of chitosan and some chitosan-derived materials to promote behavioral, functional and histological assessments in peripheral nerve regeneration and repair. Here, we mentioned the investigations about using chitosan and chitosan derivatives on regeneration and repair of peripheral nervous injuries.","PeriodicalId":447757,"journal":{"name":"Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131418287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Functional fabrics possessing antibacterial, anti-wrinkle, dyeing, antistatic and other special properties have received broad attention in the textile industry and fashion world. Chitosan is a product obtained by deacetylation of chitin, which is widely distributed in nature (e.g. shellfish, insects and certain fungi). It has multiple applications in the biomedical and other areas due to its characteristics of excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability, ecological safety, non-toxicity and its versatile biological effects such as antibacterial, antifungal, antitumor activity and low immunogenicity [1,2]. Chitosan has been utilized as an eco-friendly finishing agent to develop functional fabrics in the textile industry [3,4]. This article will present brief of chitosan applications in antibacterial, anti-wrinkle, dyeing and antistatic finishing of textiles (Figure 1).","PeriodicalId":447757,"journal":{"name":"Current Trends in Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering","volume":"98 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128004469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chitosan has been found with important and wide properties in agriculture, antimicrobial field, cosmetics, food, medicine, and textile engineering. Will the need to dress each time anew be eliminated, or will users adopt new perceptions regarding the limits of human ability? These questions reinforce the argument that cultural and social changes may be introduced via textile intelligence.
